I need someone that is familiar with the system to relook at my numbers. i have some 4 x robes with moderate resistances (30%) to fire cold and electricity. they have no vulnerabilities. i want to enchant them with my 37 wizard to 7x or 6x if I am too skittish to.try the final enchant.

I am trying to calculate the cost in premium points to put hcp on the robes when i am done. I looked at it and it came to 17200 premium points to put hcp on 7x robes. that cannot be true. I must be doing something wrong...

I am at a loss what to do if it is true.

Heavy: 10 points
Enchant: +35

(2*padding + Enchant bonus) *100

(20 + 35) *100
5500 points.

What about the resistances surcharge?

Resistances are rediculously expensive to work on via premium points. From Krakiipedia:

Resistance items with positive benefits cost 1000 points per 10% resistance (rounded up). For items with multiple resistance types, add the resistance bonuses before applying this factor. Thus, (Sum of Resistance Bonuses (offset for penalties) / 10) * 1000 points.

If I read that right, you are looking at a 9000 point surcharge. I'm not that sure about enchanting them with your mage is going to be very easy either.

Better off just padding some plain 4x robes. Monks have such ridiculously high DS that anything over 4x isn't necessary. Save yourself a lot of money and buy other items.
