Armor at level 10

I'm still new and confused about what armor I should be wearing at 10? Currently I'm wearing basic double leather. What armor should I be looking to buy at 10? I can wear vultite at 10 so should I buy this from the armory or look for an auction? I have about 70k to spend.

If you are triple trained in armor (and you should be), look for some 4x enchanted brigandine armor, that's the way to go.

Thanks! I'll look into brigandine. What is 4x, +20 DS? Is that Vultite or a standard enchantment? I am not able to access the game to check my stats, but I'm level 7 currently and it now costs 8/0 to train Armor (and I've trained this once or twice at this cost).

4x is +20 defense yes. 4x means that it is 4 times enchanted with a single enchant from a wizard adding +5. You'll basically want to wear the most protective armor that you have the armor ranks to reduce the maneuver penalties to their base.

http://www.krakiipedia.org/wiki/Armor_Use Has probably more information than you need, but if it is safe to assume you are not a spellcasting warrior then only the RT and Maneuver columns of the first table really apply to you. My warrior put on brig at level 10 (30 ranks of armor and able to wear 4x armor), I put on double chain around level 20 (60 ranks of armor), and then put on metal breastplate at like 25 trains when I could afford the 80 ranks of armor.

The reason everyone will advise you to push armor as fast as possible is that you are simply going to get hit and hit often. Many hunts while wearing plate armor I will come back with a minor wound on every body location yet at full health. If I had been in brig or chain armor I'd have had to end the hunt early or consume numerous herbs to heal down rank 2-3 wounds.

Thanks! That's some good info. I use krakiipedia often. There are spellcasting warriors? Seems like a waste of 120 MTP to learn a spell.

At some point, those spells start to be worth the points for some folks. Post cap (with conversion points) you can learn 1 spell for every 3 dodge ranks.

Interesting! How many spell ranks does a typical warrior learn by 100?

By 100? 0 ranks for most warriors.

It is more often seen way way post cap.
