A Descent Guide for Stat placement and race

I'm making a rescuer cleric for shattered. People are saying to just use a Claidh and stuff so that's all fine. What race and stat placement should I decide on? I am searching the forum but can't find a simple cleric guide =\ Any help would be appreciated =)
