Just wanted to share a gem: "The Resistance."
It's a tabletop/card game (~$20, not a collectible deal like Magic or anything). Not a computer/console game, but it's really awesome. I first played it about a year ago, but bought it to play with my family over the weekend and it was a huge hit. Games like cribbage, gin, or trick-based games are more standard fare but everyone got hooked on this game.
The game is high intrigue with very little gameplay mechanics. The basics are as follows: Players are handed out character cards (kept secret) which make them either spies or resistance. Each round, one player is chosen as a team leader, that player selects a team of a few players to go on a resistance mission, and all players vote on whether or not they approve of the team (leadership passes if the team isn't approved). The mission team determines the outcome of the mission by a secret pass/fail vote. Resistance members win if 3 missions are successful, spies win if 3 missions fail. There's also plot cards that get handed out periodically that force players to show their character card to specific players, allow players to take leadership, view secret votes, etc.
Play with 5-10 players.
