Teeth whitening shtripsh

Anyone else ever used these? I'm doing it for purposes of complete vanity but it's not a lot of fun. For 30 minutes a night I talk like a 11 year old with braces because I opted for the cheaper (and therefore bulkier) brand and not the Crest White Strips or whatever.

I used some cheap ass store brand ones. They were like a mouth guard thingy that you filled with gel. It worked, but it was unpleasant enough to not be worth it.

Crest White Strips are excellent. I use them once a week. They're really not that expensive. I would recommend getting them and useing them like it says, 2x a day until they're gone. But once you're white once a week's fine and that 30 bucks lasts a good month and a half.

I haven't been to a dentist in years, I couldn't tell you. Like one of those things football players use, but filled with this nasty goo shit.

Haha mine is once a day for 30 minutes. It's kinda like the strips but it's a lot thicker than the Crest ones. the gel is already in there unlike Artha's but it's bulkier and is an ugly green color.

I'll tell you in 12 days if the half price brand works well.

I tried the Crest strips. Damned things made me gag. I dunno what it was. They just made me salivate a lot, and I couldn't swallow because that'd knock the damn strips loose.

I use this thing called Nite White from my dentist...its super amazing...ya get these mouth pieces made and wear it all night for 2 weeks...if I can find pics I'll show results.

I've never bothered paying for those whitening strips. Instead, I <gawk> visit the dentist twice a year, costing me a whopping $20 for both visits combined (since I have dental insurance) and he does a professional cleaning and polishing.

For 5 months, my teeth are gorgeous. The 6th month my teeth are almost gorgeous but slightly yellowed, but not bad enough that anyone notices other than myself.

I do, however, use that whitening toothpaste from Crest, because I had a coupon for 50 cents off, and a triple-coupon bonus at the supermarket. So, I only paid like - a buck for a big tube of the stuff.

I didn't notice any difference but again - my teeth are pretty white anyway.

Brush your teeth regularly, don't chew tobacco, don't snort cocaine, don't eat raw blueberries or beets, use a mouthwash, and go to the dentist twice a year.

That's my recipe for clean-looking teeth.

Some people are blessed with naturally white teeth, others like me have a slightly yellow cast to their teeth. I have mine cleaned twice a year too but got mine professionally whitened years ago (was really expensive, but worth it). Now I use the crest strips once a week to keep em white. They are the best IMHO.

Yes, cocaine is a very strong alkalyne and strips the enamel off your teeth. Even if you snort it, it gets into your mucuous and saliva.

I know I'm very lucky that my teeth have always been white. I had to have a couple of caps because of a car accident that jarred my teeth loose and wrecked them - and because of 2 of my teeth (the "eye-teeth") that never grew in all the way. They had to match the porcelain caps with the other natural teeth and actually commented that they were surprised about my teeth being so white.

My sister's got great teeth too. I thought at first it was because our grandfather was a dentist and we got our teeth cleaned -every saturday- growing up by him. But my dad's got white teeth also and grandpa was mom's dad, not dad's dad.

Anyway - I totally understand that not everyone is that lucky. But I would suggest that people not rely on artificial whitening strips to justify poor dental habits. If you're just unlucky and have yellow teeth naturally - these strips are probably a godsend. But if you're using them because you're too lazy or afraid to go to the dentist and use floss and brush and do all those other good tooth-things, then eh - sucks to be you, and those strips won't prevent your teeth from rotting and falling out.

And the answer to keeping white teeth and not giving up those habits is <GASP> whitening strips. Not even a visit to the dentist 2 times a year can keep your teeth white if you're a hardcore coffee drinker and smoker...... unless you have special teeth.

Err - I must have "special" teeth then. I drink 1-3 cups of coffee every day (not all that much compared to a lot of other people) and I smoke at least a pack a day, sometimes 2. I have brown stains on the inside of my two front lower teeth, but other than that my teeth are all white. No cavities since I was in grade school either, and even then it was just 2 on my molars.

My teeth have these stupid yellow-ish squares on them from when I wore braces as a teenager. I wanted to get the professional whitening done but the dentist said it was $600! Soooo, eventually I'll get off my ass and buy some crest whitestrips.

I realize no one may care about this, but I'm posting it anyways.

Personally, I don't use the Crest strips because Crest is owned by Proctor and Gamble. They own lots of different lines of products and they test on animals, which I don't agree with unless absolutely necessary. I think of them as the devil.

Normally the off brands of whitening strips work just as well as Crest. Even Crest works well. Most of them make you talk funny and swallow some of the bleach. You can buy that kind you paint on your teeth and leave on over night, but some people don't like that.

Swishing peroxide in your mouth, used over a period of time will whiten your teeth. You can also mix baking sode and lemon juice together and brush your teeth with it twice a week.

My mom got that ZOOM bleaching thing done, it's pretty expensive, but it worked really well. She smokes a ton and drinks coffee about 3 times a day. Her teeth weren't gross, but they were definitely a darker white, and it made a huge difference.

So like last night was my last night of the strips and I'm happy to say they work LIEK A CHARM.

My teeth are white white white, which in turn makes me look darker so everyone is all WOW UR TAN and i'm like Uh I've been this dark for months and they're all oh. I DON'T TELL THEM IT'S BECAUSE I AM WHITER ON THE INSIDE NOW.
