The Roaming Gnome
As mentioned earlier, a wagon containing permanent imbue boxes is making its way around Elanthia! The first stop is Solhaven, look for the canvas awning on the green wagon. There are two varieties of each imbue box, available for 250,000 silver per.

[Gnomes And Tomes] - Currently in room 1472 (lich)
A canopy of trees is painted on the ceiling of the wagon, rendered in a multitude of verdant hues. Small copper lanterns hang from the rafters overhead, lighting the interior of the wagon. Aged copper pipes run along the walls and roof of the wagon, each pipe engraved with a tree bark pattern. Built into the wall of the wagon is a rough oak tree trunk rack. A glaes-lined pool is cut in the floor, the water flowing to a tiny stream that meanders along one wall of the wagon before terminating at a verdigrised copper box. You also see a small crystal-framed sign and a large iron-bound trunk.
Obvious exits: out
In the Common language, it reads:
The staves on the rack have been fitted with permanent mechanisms. They will hold your wands!
All the offerings in the trunk are permanent, and will not expire. They will transform imbued objects, as created by rangers, into fancier versions of themselves.
The cages are for amulets.
The cases are for anklets and bracelets.
The cannisters are for wands and rods.
On the oak tree trunk rack you see a pair of leather gloves, a gnarled silvery orase staff and a mithril-shod slender faewood runestaff.
a pair of leather gloves embroidered with golden vaalin runes - 50000 - casting gloves
a gnarled silvery orase staff - 500000 - permanent wand holding runestaff
a mithril-shod slender faewood runestaff - 500000 - permanent wand holding runestaff
In the iron-bound trunk you see a domed mithril-barred cage, a rectangular steel-barred cage, a thin gold-hinged case, a segmented bamboo case, a smooth silver beech cannister and a segmented thick bamboo cannister.
a domed mithril-barred cage - 250000 - makes "a carved silvery tanik songbird medallion"
a rectangular steel-barred cage - 250000 - makes "a crude ebonwood panther talisman"
a thin gold-hinged case of jointed modwir and tanik - 250000 - makes "a woven dried reed and tanik bracelet or anklet"
a segmented bamboo case wrapped with faenor wire - 250000 - makes "a thin braided bamboo anklet/bracelet with a wiregrass loop toggle"
a smooth silver beech cannister with a tanned leather lid - 250000 - makes "a smooth silver beech wand/rod carved with a spiral of leaves"
a segmented thick bamboo cannister - 250000 - makes "a segmented thick bamboo wand or rod"

Glad to see this being offered to the masses. Given the sheer amount of work done by Bazz for people likely looking to resell, this is probably making a lot of people more than a little pissy.

Semi Pissy a bit, in that I know one of the reasons I actually bought a ticket to ebon gate was to get a permanent ranger imbue box. Wasn't the only reason I went, but it did factor in. Anywho carry on.

And I thought that the large number of permanent boxes Bazz made was going to be bad enough for the market. I feel bad for the folks who paid 1m and up for these things just recently. And of course I'm kicking myself for not having sold the ones I have, I could have replaced them cheaply just a week later. Ultimately it makes little difference to me, since the boxes played no part in my decision to participate in EG, but it does seem to be unfortunate timing. At least give us a few weeks to sort out what we don't want before you flood the market with the same items.

I'm more puzzled by the decision that these items were deemed too good to originally be released off shelf, so we had to run to a merchant, stand in line and pay unlocking fees. A week later they're available off shelf for just the price of the unlock fee.
I certainly don't appreciate the time sink.

There were at least two that sold for 10m and up a month or so ago.

Yup. It was a gamble for me and I paid 15m for my rod box. Got burnt on it on the assumption that they would be as rare as the last years and I had planned on spending about 5m on the temp boxes. So I thought 3 years worth of EG purchases was worth the price. Now I have like 5 boxes and 4 of them together were less then 5m I would have spent on the temp boxes. Why even sell the temp ones anymore?

I think its a little strange that literally a week ago they were charging 500,000 to make them permanent (525,000 net cost) at a paid event, and you had to be lucky enough to get service (not that it was particularly hard, but still). And now they are 250,000, fully functional and off the shelf to every player without need for merchanting.
I can understand a once rare item becoming commonplace (which sucks for those who paid, but such things happen over years), but this? I'd be angry just for being ripped off at the beginning of EG.

Totally agree. I am a little puzzled by that.

I guess if there is a good side to this, it is that the shelf boxes and T4 boxes have a different output than what is being sold in the wagon. Sure, you can alter the item at some point if you so chose to, but for those who wouldn't waste an alteration on something like that this gives you a number of boxes to pick from for an output style. I purchased a few from the wagon, had the set from the T4 wins, and had two unlocked via Bazzelwyn, so I have a good selection of styles available. This helps those who want to offer imbeds or blank imbeds in a player shop.
I do agree that this wasn't well thought out, and my guess is that a GM got snippy about people turning around and selling their work for a profit as soon as EG was over. But doesn't this always happen?
I'm glad other people are getting a chance to get one of these items for a reasonable price, but I totally see how many who spent the $40 for EG and the time getting these items feel slighted.

Eh I don't think this that was poorly handled. By allowing every merchant in EG to unlock his items we already knew the game was going to be flooded with ranger boxes, permanent wand staves, and to a lesser extent his new gloves. Many folks managed to sell their ranger boxes for what 500k-1m? Every box I had unlocked cost me 250k so that is only a 250k-750k markup and it seemed to be steadily dropping as more and more people were putting their 5+ boxes up for sale. Only real downside is I'd have had 6 more GALD if I had chosen not to have boxes made or two staves made permanent, but meh.
I am a bit curious if he intended to do this wagon immediately following EG all along or if the demand for them was high enough that he was trying to appease the masses.

Certainly the dramatic increase in supply during EG would more than cover the demand from the masses. I would not have been surprised if the market price did not drop to 250k anyway, or at least 500k in the short run.

I personally would suggest that anyone who has a surplus and wants to sell them hold onto them. I'm sure that some time next Spring there will be a reasonable demand again, once the wagon is gone. Maybe 750k?

Pretty typical stuff right here. Can't do something right without doing something wrong in the process.
