I'm wondering what determines it's "longetivity". Mine hits only twice and I'm just wondering if it's my age, or should I invest more ranks in spell aiming? Thanks.

It's based on level difference. Spell aiming, sorcerer spells, and discipline bonus increase the amount of storms you can cast, though.

Oh, and always do multiple casts in the beginning or else it won't be as effective.

Age is the only factor in how long your storms last.

As Bob said, spell aiming, spells known, and discipline effect how many focused storms you can cast, and as well as how much damage they'll do.

The spell doesn't really come into its own until the 20's or 30's, at which point a single cast on a like-levelled creature will usually be enough to drop it. Sometimes you'll get the annoying bastard creature or the unlucky hidden roll, and it'll need an additional cast to strengthen the storm.

It's probably the most mana efficient spell Sorcerers have, aside from Blood Burst on low-health living creatures. The only downside is the time it takes to kill.

Yeaaah, it seems like I'll be using that spell until I can use torment. Fun spell.

Or until they make disintegrate good.

705 is good, if used properly ;)

Simu claims they're going to be "fixing" it, whatever that means.

Hopefully for the better, unlike MD. Scoff.

Mana disruption is good just because I like reading the messages.

well if they are "fixing" disintigrate, then look forward to another stance dependant spell

Gah, I thought we were supposed to be sorcerers? Not claidhmore swinging, stance dancing muscle-heads. Heh.

Dropping into offensive for half a second (or 3 seconds) doesn't really qualify as stance dancing.

Disintegrate is already a stance-based spell.

i could be wrong, but i don't think disintigrate is stance based yet, as i almost always use it in guarded stance and don't see any diference in it's damage

It is.

The website makes it sound like it's only going to make a difference if you're in offensive.

It gets gradually better with aggressive stances.

It is better in more aggressive stances.

The only reason it's hard to notice it is because the spell's fucked up. The damage tables are messed up, and the results gotten from it are absurdly random. Somebody actually did a bunch of research and found that the fault lies in the "a small slice of neck vanishes" crit.

That's the primary problem with the spell, and it'll hopefully be fixed soon.
