A couple of people were interested to see my stats on spins during EG. The stats are probably more indicative of behavioral similarities than anything else (i.e. I was spun more than anyone else because I'm always in the same room as myself). Nevertheless:

Total spins observed: 386

Histogram of character spin counts:

1 117
2 52
3 31
4 12
5 3
9 1

People also seem to like to post what they got done. Feel free to do so. Here's my list for those curious:

Merchant services:
Total services: 26
Unlocking: 7
Lighten: 7
Deepen: 6
Charging: 2
Zesting: 1
Enhancive permanence: 3 (1 earned, 2 bought)

Raffles:
Raffle tickets bought: 21 (~1.25mil)
Raffles won: 1 (plasma flares)

Digging:
Shovels bought: 1526 (1.526 mil)
Boxes found: 1398
Tier 5 boxes: 0
Moss-covered skull insignias found: 1250

I had one 1-character ticket. My work schedule is pretty flexible (I can work from home a lot), so I did half days at home. I didn't sacrifice any of the normal activities that I enjoy. None of my services came from finding a forging-hammer/dagger/etc. Also... fuck raffles. And, though I'm probably in the black due to gems, fuck digging as well.

Wow, what an interesting idea. Wish you could have seen more of these events, since I know I was spun at least seven or eight times myself, and I'm only listed on yours for 1 time.

I'm pretty sure I lost track of what I got done, but I know for certain:
Unlocking: 5 (Gizwizit Armor, Hair Bauble from 1-2, then 2-3, Juggling Ball full unlock, Hidden-Dagger Sword Full Unlock)
Bazzelwyn Upgrades: 3 sets of gloves, 2 imbue boxes, 1 wand-holding staff
Lighten/Deepen: 5 (Cloak Lightened, then 2x Deepened, then Leathers 2x Lightened)
Zesting: 1 (Gizwizit Scripts added to leathers)
Flares: 1 (Snake Flares)
Alterations: 10

Raffle Tickets entered: 15ish
Raffle Tickets won: 0 (wuhhh-wwwwww)

Not bad. I was impressed with the time put in by the GMs.

EDIT: I played like, 100k worth of minigames and got a T5 5x Defender main gauche. Apparently, I was pretty lucky.

I didn't really put much effort into getting things done, since I wasn't using my own account (a friend brought a ticket on her account, and let me play one of her characters for the duration)...

So, for services and whatnot:
1 wand-holding staff: full unlocked (two unlockings) and made permanent.

No raffles entered, no auctions tried for...

Played a fuck-ton of midway and digging. Got one tier 5 prize (a spell-pill bottle), and a shit-ton of tier 4's, along with all the other tier 3's & 2's junks (wands, potions, shawls, etc.)... spent most of the two weeks rooting for that mysterious tier 5, which came along (finally) this past Thursday-ish.

Not bad, really, for little to no effort. Highly enjoyed being able to get the wand-staff permanent-ized last night, at Bazzlewyn's 1-minute-left flurry of permanting-&-unlocking. :)

I'm also only listed once on there (Arpelli) but was definitely spun for more than that.

I received 3 T5s from the games; won 1 raffle for a master quality instrument. Won 2 EZ scripts. I received numerous unlockings and deepenings, and customized items from merchant shops - ie: nail polish, reversible clothing from Vathwyn Manor, had 340 added to a self-use chrism holder, customized an instrument from Instrumentality (yay for jingle bells), max lightened 2 containers, altered numerous items, and... I can't remember what else. I'm certainly happy with what I received, but you know... it's never enough!

but you know... it's never enough!

Personally, I'm almost tapped out on lighten/deepen/alterations. I never thought it would happen, but 10 alterations later, I changed my tune. I recently changed out my LA satchel for a MA case that was max light/deep, and I then realized that with the exception of my cloak, all of my containers were max light/deep already. Then I got my leathers and cloak maxed out, and had to resort to lightening my 4-pound runestaff.

I have room for two or three more alterations, and even they don't NEED it, and after that . . . I'll have to start outsourcing to other players, or start getting stuff done from my other characters.

Had a fairly good EG...keep in mind I had 2 characters there, when looking at this list.

Lighten/Deepen: 40+ (stopped counting after 40, couple 30-min sessions with Alianatta helped)
Alterations: 6 (could have had more, didn't need it)
Unlocks: 4 sets Bazz gloves (full), 3 bazz runestaves (2 full, 1 perm mech only), 2 baubles(full, to t3), Duplicity cloak(full), Veola hat(full), Duplicity hat(full), Gizwizit zests on hauberk, full leather, and full plate (full on each), Sophella kilt and pants (MR and 3 descrips), umm...other stuff

Raffles/t5's:

Ice ring- black (spin)

A tri-bladed drakar main gauche- 6x fire flaring (t5)

A pearl-inlaid silvered haon mandolin strung with polished platinum- Masterwork (raffle)

A shadowy Urglaes-barbed paingrip - UAC defender weapon (major raffle)

I did more merchant-whoring this year than previous years, and it paid off. Having EG withdrawals now tho...

Flipside of Thondalar, I basically chose not to chase merchants after about day four (partly from lack of desire and partly from frustration during those first several days of getting very few spins). I suspect I bumped into one around the second Friday or Saturday, unintentionally. The raffles were a massive silver drain for me and felt like a waste, despite winning a rather minor one and a bard one. I keep saying that I won't do them then end up doing them anyway. I spent what I felt was a lot of time noodling and to a lesser degree pig chasing and then the rest of the midway.

Spins:
Maybe between 3 to 5. I got my bow altered, one unlocking of Bazz gloves, one deepen, and one or two lightens. With slightly more effort I could have doubled or tripled this output. It simply came down to after chasing 12 to 15 merchants, I got tired of not being spun. Not sure how people merchant camped AND played games but it sounds like some did. I just don't have the stamina or desire to sit in a room with a merchant for hours and not get work done more than two or three times before that's enough. I'd rather noodle. I appreciate the merchants who try to do all their spins early so people don't just sit around. Conversely, I do appreciate the room order and spin then repeat method. It benefits those who are fast/camp and the lucky.

Raffles (2):
Sonic alteration of my 1025
UAC pair, 4x acid flaring handwraps and sandals.

Games:
2 Tier 5
- a resplendent golvern warsword - 5x fire flares and grim bane, Dhyne scripts.
- the mushroom with the fire wave spores (sold)

My tier 4's were some of the best, in my opinion. While anyone could've gotten them in due time I felt like the UAC gear I got, containers and scripted toys were some of the best. I didn't get a lot of the flaskets, mats, lamps and more fluff type items. 4x void and plasma flaring boots as tier 4's? Yes, thanks.

One other thing I noticed was a general lack of being able to get t4 and t5 wins over the final three days or so. I spent a lot of coins the last five days and left with nothing to show for it. 3 hours a night (yes, people did a lot more) of constant gaming and only getting a few of my t4's during that time felt like a serious let down compared to the first week and two weekends when I probably spent slightly less time gaming and walked away with a LOT more.

Overall, I enjoyed this Ebon Gate a good deal. What appealed to me at the first two Ebon Gates back in 2001 and 2003, getting merchant work, has changed over time so that now I lack the patience for it. The crowds at merchants have changed, too. The game has evolved and so have my interests. I know I had my most fun at merchants at the Dhu Gillywack in 2004 and the Wavedancer in 04/05. I can't believe it has been THAT long ago now that those ran. I am still sad that I missed CCF. I think merchants are more efficient now that they used to be...get more work accomplished. Sadly, I just lack the interest to go merchant heavy in my event runs the last three to four years.

I was never in the right place at the right time it seems. I entered every raffle, no wins. Although I did get the spin on the customized signet ring one time when Lady Dara passed because she had already won the same raffle earlier that morning. (Thanks by the way if you are out there Dara!). I managed to get two Bazzelwyn box perms made and one wand holding staff made permanent. I also got one set of gloves customized. Other than that I managed only 1 alteration and one unlocking. I watched that spinner go around and around and never got close to getting picked. I'd make my way to a room with a merchant and they'd pack up before I got a chance to have a turn. Those are the breaks though.

I did get lucky in that I managed to win four T5 prizes from the carousel and over 130 tier 4 prizes. Yea, I played a LOT.

T5's

1. Morphing jewelry piece (headworn). Gave this to Maags for a future Brigatta prize.
2. Fully unlocked Naelea dress. Will probably sell this at some point.
3. Creepy Jester Doll. Sold soon after my win. Helped finance all of my purchases, raffle entries, and minigames, and left me about 15m ahead of where I started before EG.
4. +15 Dodge Bonus gloves, UAC type.

All in all, I'm very happy with it. I would have loved to have been able to have more work done, but thats just the way it works when you don't merchant hunt.

This was the very first EG I have went to in 20 years of playing. Ok, I know they haven't had EG that long! Its the first real event I've been able to be a part of since HSN in 94!

I don't remember most of the first week, I think I was on half the nights for varying amounts of time and found stuff this weekend that I honestly didn't remember getting done. But here's what I ended up with from merchants:

doubled logic enhancive
white ora spikestar (last day raffle win)
3 altered magic gloves (2 of them also unlocked)
2 perm ranger boxes (amulets/bracelets)
1 unlocked morphing container
1 enhancive permed
1 fully unlocked perm wand staff
1 once unlocked perm wand staff
3 alterations on already owned items
3 containers max deep (with gem mules, you can never have too many max deep containers)

Also, my shop from the premie contest (Alchemist's Delight) was built, so you can blame me for the broccoli pestles and lettuce mortars and all the crappy cauldrons in there, and you can thank me for the Kezmonian honey beryls.

edit: probably a mil or so spent on games and no T5s

Well from the looks of things I was right in my assessment after week 1. I bombed big time.

Raffles 0 for 17.
Spin wins - I managed to get a Caranto dual magic item by waiting until there was no one else left in the room. I think he took a bit of pity on me. He saved EG from Katrina like disaster for me.
Lightens 5
Alter 1 (really disappointing)
Bazzelwyn gloves
2 Giz fabtabulizations.
T5 - 0 for 300k spent.

Now I have never been lucky (1 minor raffle win since 1992) but this was a new low. I planned for it and was able to spend more than 8 hours a day on the grounds. Waited without result for a serious amount of merchants and it did not improve in the extra week. There was one MA group of 4 (no names mentioned) who got work done for the each member of the group while I walked away emptyhanded from 3 different merchants (good thing I am on tranquilizers).

Very disappointed in the limited storyline.

Thanks to Gizwizit, Kyrinthe (poor girl had to de-ice my shield, got the impression she gets a lot of arguments from people, but I understand the rules she has to follow), and Bazzelwyn (forever more known as Basil Fawlty to me) who I didn't get much from but were thoroughly hardworking and entertaining.

Players who helped. Kerl, Sthos, Telsas, Brillat, Ardwen, Wolfloner, Aurla, Maags, Gwenievia. By being nice or just willing to talk me down off the ledge.

Conclusion.

Wish they would work more on that token system.
I am a Toronto Maple Leaf fan (46 years), do I really deserve to ever be lucky?

Didnt see my name on the list, got spun for half a dozen or more GALD. Made 3 nail lacquers for people, won the one raffle, out of 12 entered. Dragonbones win. All in all not a terrible event.

T5 - 0 for 300k spent.

But like... that's nothing. That's like an hour or so on the carousel. LOL. I spent millions on that damn thing.

Oh agreed, it guarantees nothing, but many others scored with less investment. Just relfective of a bad run of luck.

But it was a heckuva lot longer than an hour. I don't count the constant reinvestment of whatever I did find. I should add that the 300k shows how little I actually did play the games though. I don't lich or script such things (couldn't afford to anyways) so it becomes tedious after a while.

As I mentioned in my post. I got a T5 within about 60k of spending on catfish noodlin. Never got a T4, and I called it quits after 130k. Just luck.

I brought a second account to EG specifically FOR playing the games so my main could go merchant hunting. Plus, she doesn't want to chip her new nail polish digging or anything. Even with that - and millions spent - I only got one T5, a 6x scripted runestaff. It's definitely luck.

I did hella some digging and trick-or-treating, a fair amount of carousel-riding and catfish noodlin'... NOODLIN'!!

Not sure I ever managed to get a T5 (I'd have to consult the list), although I'm pretty happy overall with everything I walked away from EG with -- except for the empty, moth-eaten pockets, of course.

Didn't win the two big raffles I'd really hoped to either, but that's kind of a given, so I can't claim I was surprised by that fact.

Didnt keep super specific data on spins, raffle totals or the like but I did manage to write down 98% of my services when they happened, I would say. So here is my count! Not bad for my first one since 07/08....But next year, no sleeping!

light/deep: 7

general alters: 27

other services:
- fully unlocked and made permanent bazz wand runestaff
- 3 custom nailpolishes
- tier 3 bauble
- fully unlocked metal barrette with the empty side altered (veola stuff)
- fully unlocked circlet with the empty/gem sides altered and one custom hairstyle (veola stuff)
- anfelt scripts on my rogue's armor. (only one tier, I was lazy or he was in when there was a merchant that makes stuff pretty >.>)

Raffles: Entered almost every one I saw save labels and signet rings, I think.
won - Sophella 5 sided MR 606 corset, LA max light/deep

Games: spent over 7 million between digging, carousel, and other various ones. Also lost 1.5m at dragonbones because im stupid :P
t4: crapton
t5: 0...i'll get you next year my pretties! and your little hedgehog too!

Add in the shopping and I was down around 10 million from where I started.

I'll add in my stuff. I thought for me it was a fairly nice ebon gate, although it wouldnt come close to some of the stuff others achieved.

Unlockings-about 6 items
Contest- 1 win, got a wandering tattoo (the prizes this year were awesome for all 3 placers in contests)

Games- 2 or 3 T5 wins i think, serpent golvern trident, some kinda vial(not sure what it is yet), weather coat or ranger box count? if not T5 at least upper T4

Alters-3 (i didnt really try for alters this festival, didnt feel like waiting or holding up lines getting them)

Deepen/Lightens- 6

Raffles - 1 (awesome one though, got sighting added to my 6x longbow)

Misc - had 1 enhancive made non crumbly, had 1 item charged to 40 charges, had 1 item made 340 able, had summong music/magic added to an instrument, had a vest made rechargeable, and lastly had about 3 runestaves unlocked/made permanent(though i did give 2 away to people that didnt)

From live merchants:
a wand-holding runestaff unlocked twice
an altered two-sided morphing/imbedded ring
an altered wand/rod changing box
a pre-made "glamour" tattoo
several GLAD services (mostly deepening and lightening)

from the games (75% from the archery contest and maybe 20% gravedigging, the rest from the carousel):
three wand bows from the archery game (two fire, one acid)
a pair of boots with +5 ranks Dodging and +5 ranks Ambush from gravedigging (my only Tier 5 win)
a bunch of long description clothing, mostly UAC pieces with flares
a couple Ghule-style cloaks
two or three partially unlocked Spitfire skinning bags
a survival kit that auto-bundles herbs when you put them in (told this type was from Anfelt)
probably three premium lockers full of other crapola

It just occurred to me this list could go on, and I'd be stupid to continue it because it's all not really worthy of mention.

I will say that the archery game was rather disappointing compared to gravedigging. I easily made a small profit gravedigging and actually got a tier 5 from it. The archery contest was likely (overall) shorter per turn, but it cost twice as much as the carousel and took three times as long. You always got what I'm assuming is at least a tier 3 prize (I got enough of those hilt wraps to wallpaper the Empire State Building) but you outright lost roughly 50% of the time and got nothing. I'm not aware of anyone winning a Tier 5 via the archery contest (granted, there were probably only 3 or 4 of us doing a great deal of it).
