Enhancive Enchanting - What am I doing Wrong?

You swap an ayveneh potion to your left hand and a coal black satchel to your right hand.
>give grave
>wear sat
You sling a coal black satchel over your shoulder.
>get crow
You remove a fel-shafted etched mithril crowbill from in your black leather cloak.
>pour my pot on my crow
You pour your potion on the crowbill.
The liquid bubbles slightly as it touches the surface of the etched mithril crowbill, but then merely evaporates without effect.
You have 4 doses left.

Two spherical depressions adorn the etched mithril crowbill, approximately the size and shape of a small gem. All of the gem chambers are currently empty.

EDIT Does an enhancive count as your "major" enchant project even if it's just +5? If so that's my problem.

all fusion gear is 4x even if its mithril i think. So your actually trying to pour for a 5x

Yes. You'll need to pre-temper with ayveneh and then follow with dirtokh (starting enchant bonus +16 to +25) for each step of a 4x to 5x fusion item project.
