Ranged vs. Demons

From what I understand, you need a blessed 8x weapon or better to hit a demon. How does this work with ranged? 8x total with a blessed arrow, or what?

Someone said that Droit was able to hit a demon with a 7x bow and a 5x arrow but I wasn't sure if that was somehow a requisite or just a statement of fact that he had a 7x bow and master fletched arrows and it worked.

In the past, I've needed to wait until the demon phased in, and then I could hit it with 4x blessed arrows.

I can hit demons with a 7x bow and 5x blessed arrows. I don't know what the minimum cut-off is for that ability.
