So I'm driving home from the after-work party tonight, and I am on a 40 MPH road. I'm doing 50, and come to a bend in the road. I slow down, make the slight turn, and one second after that there is a roadsign RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF MY LANE with oncoming traffic (why the hell these people are up at 4:30 AM is beyond me) going the other way. I hit the roadsign, smash it into 100 pieces, and damage my car.

1) Why wasn't there prior warning?
2) Who puts a roadsign right after a bend in a 40 MPH road? (nearly equivalent to highway speeds)
3) I hope the person who put this sign there dies a slow, agonizing death.

I hate the DOT and the tards they have working there. May you be hit as hard as my car hit that sign.

The easy answer to why is "To fuck with people like you"

Next time steal the bastard. It's always fun to get into the habit of sign-stealing.

Chances are the DOT, or any contracted road crew, didn't put the sign there, unless the road was closed.

Either

A. Kids
B. DOT and the kids stole/moved the warning.

Don't steal signs...although it is very fun...and cool to decorate the house with.

I have a friend that just went to jail and got fined like $2000 for stealing signs and traffic lights....and they were out of a garbage dump.

I'm sorry, point me to the part where I said I was drunk, or had even had a single beer? Yeah, didn't think so. My reaction time was great, as I managed to swerve to the right and instead of taking it full on frontal, it nipped my left front bumper. The damage is only superficial, but I am planning on calling the DOT tomorrow to give them a piece of my mind.

Trespassing and theft. Doesn't matter what you take out of a garbage dump it's not a public place nor is it public property. He/she could have been boosting scrap metal and band-aids and the sentace would probably be the same.
