Poison Vial Flares

I have a poison vial weapon and I am curious if anyone can tell me more about what exactly the flares do. I've recorded, so far, 6 different flare messages. Do they do different things or just look different? One includes a knockdown.

Weapon:
a blackened vultite scythe - A small stud is imbedded into the base of the vultite scythe. The vultite scythe is covered in foul-smelling murky umber oil.


Flare Messaging:
**A malodorous toxin spits from your vultite scythe and slimes the face of the dwarven thief!**
Some murky oil drips from your scythe.

**Drops of oily residue fly from your vultite scythe, drenching the half-elven thug!**
**The half-elven thug claws at its eyes!**
Some murky oil drips from your scythe.

**Noxious liquid from your vultite scythe showers the dwarven brigand which falls to the ground and large, oozing blisters begin to form.**
Some murky oil drips from your scythe.

**Droplets of smoking black liquid spray from your vultite scythe! The gnomish outlaw watches in horror as its skin begins to smoke!**
Some murky oil drips from your scythe.

**A spray of a noxious toxin flies from your vultite scythe bathing the human brigand in a vile substance!**
Some murky oil drips from your scythe.

**A brackish foul-smelling solution from your vultite scythe splashes the dwarven mugger which quickly begins to wither!**

It's just random messaging for the variable poison strengths (which are based on the type of poison vial you load the weapon with, similar to pourable poisons you can put on weapons for a less cool temp poison effect). The poison weapons I used to own didn't seem to have any correlation between the messaging and any particular amount of poison strength.


edit: Meaning, "**A malodorous toxin spits from your vultite scythe and slimes the face of the dwarven thief!**" didn't always mean the target got poisoned for 1-20. Or the "Drops of oily residue fly from your vultite scythe, drenching the half-elven thug!" always meant 20-30. It's possible that, since the weapons I did use were all permanent poison weapons, that the vial and pour versions are different and have standard message=poison range, but I doubt it.
