I'm really, really not good at giving up on competitions. Also, you were putting in 400+ attempts with probably 24 other people? I think you all raided 25s before Hounds got back together. There is no possible way that a 25-man group is going to have the synergy and personal responsibility that a carefully chosen 5-man gets. There will be no baked healer, no drunken rogue, no idiot-who-stands-in-fire-but-is-the-GMs-bff, etc. I believe we can get it sooner or later. If it really turns out to be that impossible, we'll reevaluate. We can't really say one way or the other until we see it.

No, our 25 man team couldnt do 1 light. I was on a 10 man sub raid with our raid leaders that had the rusted proto drake realm first and nearly every other achieve in ulduar worth doing.....except no light. To be completely fair after the patch blizzard admitted no lights was probably impossible without stacking warlocks which we didnt.

If they are a challenge like GC and the lead encounter designer are implying, you'll need to account for CC.

I'm probably going wyvern sting for challenge modes just so I can double CC each pack with frost trap and sting.

the way the game is now you dont really have to account for it, i know every glyph and will bring the dust to change them. Every class has at least two cc's.

I would think we'll probably be saving our potion uses more for combat-related things than running. It's not like we can just constantly chug the things, and the health/mana/spell power boost may outweigh the extra few seconds saved running. That's something we'll have to look at when we can actually get into these things. It may not hurt to stockpile swift thistle, but I wouldn't want to buy thousands quite yet.

So have you guys read up at all on crafting? Been looking around wowhead and unless I am mistaken I am pretty sure the epic pve boe's you can make for pandaria are made by literally standing out in the world grinding mobs. All it takes for the entry level gear is motes of harmony and small amounts of mats. So like....this is weird to say but I think the best way to gear up for raids is going to be to stand around randomly murdering mobs? Kind of odd.

No...the rate limiting factor on everything is motes of harmony..like for tailoring to get Pjaay into as many epics as I can I will need like 200 motes of harmony but the only way to get motes of harmony is to kill things in the world in Pandaria.....so like shockingly I think the best way to get ready for dungeons will be to literally just pick a spot and start spamming down mobs. Unless they add cool downs to things that use motes of harmony but according to wowhead there arent any.

My guess would be your pet. If it is completely impossible for you to hit 15% spell hit on your current gear then your pet will miss and expertise can be added to push misses and dodges off its special attacks. As you get your own personal spell hit to 15% your demon will naturally become hit and expertise capped but since its not currently possible the spreadsheet is possibly seeing it as a way to hit cap your pet (even though it wont hit cap you).

If you use Grimoire of sacrifice I dont think expertise does anything for you though.

Actually after googling it, it looks like theres a current bug where expertise stacks with hit for casters. So if you have hit on a piece already you can reforge the haste to expertise to get to 15%

So another interesting thing is if your an orc, using a spell axe as lock gives you a free 1% hit from the expertise conversion.

I think our only 90 healers are Johnpal and Vado, so we'd need to kidnap one of them. I ran a couple with them yesterday, and Johnpal did pretty well healing. You and Sugarudders could probably trade off tanking... at worst, we'd have to pug a dps. That's not too bad.

I'm not trying to 6/6. I'm trying to wipe on the first boss a few times and figure out how the fight works. If I get a really good group, I might even get as far as wiping a few times on the 2nd boss. I just want to see it so when we get in there, we're a little ahead.

I was thinking about trying to pug it but then I looked at the loot table for the first boss and realized it would be absolutely pointless for me (and consequently also for a warlock). Just going to wait for raid finder to show me the fights and then start pugging it. And E what I think you dont realize is that Mal'Ganis pugs are better than most casual guilds. Generally when we pick up a pug for our hounds runs on Mal'Ganis they are top 3 on dps. All the pugs are alts of full clear heroic guilds.

Half our guild hasn't even hit 90 yet, and they're already putting 5.1 on the PTR (http://www.mmo-champion.com/content/). Yeah, we're going to progress through 14 or 18 or however many bosses before the next raid hits. Really.

Edit: And while loot would be nice for MV, I really am just wanting to go so I can see the fight. I want to get my required dying to dumb stuff out of the way, and be ready to actually kill stuff when Hounds is ready to go. It always helps to have a person or two who has seen the fight in explanations, rather than going purely off Fatboss videos or whatever.

Also, not to mention, their 10 players are like, literally probably 10 of the best players in the world. I'd take them over 10 of Blood Legion's or vodka's raiders (#2 and #3) any day of the week.

It's kind of interesting, though, how much better the Europeans are than Americans. American servers had a full head day start over the Europeans, yet more than half the top 10 are European. Just recently in the League of Legends finals, the European teams went on the record in an interview saying they didn't feel NA teams were serious or competitive.

I've been reading some blog posts from Swims in Lava (a top 20 US guild last xpac) and one of the top 10 mans in the world. Apparently the 3rd boss in H10 man (Gara'jal) is completely bugged and impossible to beat without using exploits (which the SiL guys seem to think Paragon probably used). Another case of Blizz tuning for 25 and buggering 10 man when they don't adjust it right - after all, Sinestra didn't get killed til February on 10 man.

Literally all the best 10 mans in the world are stuck on this boss, and the only ones to beat it are Paragon, and no one knows how they did it.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out that Paragon exploited something to get around it. If it really is bugged to the point where no one can kill it, I can't blame them either. I saw a comment somewhere in the chatter on Method's stream about "Got it [the third boss], and without spellstealing from trash mobs!" I have no idea what that referred to, but maybe that's what Paragon did?

Pfft, spellstealing from trash isnt an exploit imo, if that's what they meant. Hell, we used to mind control the trash in UBRS to get a fire resist buff to go down and kill Rag in Vanilla.

Except they've intentionally designed the game away from that since vanilla. I don't think using trash mobs to help you down the boss is in any way intended.

Besides, afaik, Paragon hasn't run a mage at all in their 10 man. I think it has something to do with MC, but I can't be sure. Maybe they're MCing one of the mobs.

-- Garrosh kills Anduin Wrynn (speculation about him not actually being dead, but no confirmation)
-- The Kirin Tor imprison their BE members and go back to the Alliance. Dalaran gets moved again, becomes Alliance only (WTF happens to Northrend now?)
-- Lor'themar storms Dalaran to get his people back. He blames Garrosh for being a dick and says that the BEs should consider "Old Alliances" instead of the Horde. This now puts all the Horde races except the goblins ready to rebel
-- Horde invades Darnassus, which sends Tyrande on a rampage

I saw a GM post on the forums quite a while ago responding to a player question that also sounded interesting. The player asked what's up with Sargeras and the Burning Legion. The GM said that we haven't seen the last of them. I wasn't around for BC so I missed most of the lore, but I'm pretty sure the blood elves were central players in that mess (most bosses from those raids are blood elves, at any rate). Northrend like Outland is considered to be in a different time than the rest of the game. That's why Garrosh is still just the leader of the Warsong Offensive there. Nothing will happen to Dalaran.

Actually, they weren't. It mentions in the Tides of War book somewhere that when Camp T was razed, they were careful to let the civilians leave in one piece. It's part of one of Baine's internal monologues about Garrosh being an dishonorable ass.

Thats interesting. Because when you go camp Taurajo right now you can literally see every civilians dead body from old Taurajo. Dont buy in to alliance propaganda

I'm at work so I can't go dig up the passage from the book, but even if you're right... Killing two townspeople and a skinning trainer does not equate to wiping all of Theramore off the map. Taurajo was pretty minor before Cata, and Garrosh couldn't care less about the Tauren. They're handy as beasts of burden and/or cannon fodder, but that's about it.

Blizzard is generally pretty good with fixing the problem when servers are down or logins aren't going through. They may take ages to fix class balance or bugged quests, but truly "unplayable" errors don't live long with them.

Nice. There was a mod back during BC, I can't remember which, but it had some audio files that could be triggered by anyone with the addon to play on other people's end. There was one real sucka we had in our group that I screwed with pretty good. Only a handful of us had the mod to begin with, so when he started gettin creeped out asking on vent what the music/sounds were, most people had no idea which only added to his paranoia. Made for some interesting times clearing trash.
