Nice shield and a good price. Need more items like this to come up for sale. The market has been dead lately.

I do have to say, in the one interaction I had with Arctal, he seems to be one of the most legit people in GS. Was willing to help me out with the plate situation on good faith alone.

Arctal is 100% above-board and trustworthy, yes.

Correction: shield description is "a battered skull-shaped buckler" not "a blackened skull-shaped buckler". I mixed up the descriptions of two shields similar in appearance. Edited OP to reflect description change.

There are currently two competing buyout offers. It will come down to which can deliver payment first. Will update thread again once transaction has been completed.

So does that mean if someone can pay you instantly right now there would be a third offer?

Isn't it usually the first person to offer the buy out gets it?

One would think the person with the earliest timestamp on their buyout message would be given the opportunity to purchase the item at the stated buyout price on the first post.

Depends on what they offered. If it's a mix of cash and coin, or coin and trade, etc etc.
edit: Though if both offers are using the same base, then I agree, the one who submitted it first should have it.

The initial buyout offer came with a payment delay of a couple days, hence my allowing two offers to compete rather than closing the auction. No attempt to game anyone here. Was just the nature of the initial buyout offer. In the end, first payment won the day and this auction is now closed. Thanks for looking.
