Well I'm level 28 and was kinda looking for maybe some new hunting grounds, I've spent most of my time in Solhaven and while I do enjoy the town and the people I've been wanting to possibly try something different, gotten bored of Centaurs, Cougars, Fenghai and Pra'edas. I've searched through the bestiary and its hard to get a feel besides numbers and names. and I figured the best place would be to gather advice from fellow Sorcerers.

I've wandering around the Spider temple some and it wasn't bad. Some pretty decent silvers compared to what I'm used too. Anything else worth traveling away from landing/solhaven?

I'm a Burghal and can muster about 153 CS, maybe I'm behind the curve a bit compared to my dark elven brethren. I crippled myself by placing my Stats to try to get as many as I can to 100 by cap, hurt bunches when younger not so much now.

Another question I've been curious about. I've been throwing away TP's towards lock picking, disarming. I know I know its pretty stupid I'm a sorcerer, I started off doing this by planning to incorporate it into my characters back story a bit of RP investment I guess, and maybe pick a few of my boxes and friends boxes but I haven't been fully committed, is this Foolish? will I ever be able to pick/disarm decent boxes if I fully commit to it (2x LP/1xDisarm) per level. Should I just migrate those points towards more CS? I tried searching the forums and wasn't able to find much on how successful a picking sorcerer might be, probably my answer right there huh?

Definitely drop the picking locks and disarming traps. It's not worth it, especially at your train. That might be something you may want to pursue in later levels but you'll never be very efficient, especially with disarming and that's including your lore. As far as areas to hunt it really depends on whether or not you'd like to travel. River's Rest has plenty around your level to hunt and great loot.

Getting up in age? Nigga, you ain't even taken the training wheels off, yet! As for hunting options, the hunting sucks at 30, I think. Probably best to give krynch and albino scorpions in Zul a go for a while until you can move into the undead area there or get back to a real town.

Once upon a time (GSIII), sorcerers had extra points for things like lockpicking. Between lockpicks and spells, I was able to open most of my own rift boxes. Only ones I couldn't crack open were the ones that had traps I couldn't manually disarm and wasn't going to risk 408ing at the Caverns. When GSIV rolled out, I had no points for skills like that and I strongly advise against it in today's environment. There are simply too many other hunting-related skills you should work towards completing first and really, the last time I was in Prime on my rogue, there aren't enough people having rogues open their boxes anyway.

Oddly enough, thats what I hunted at 30. I usually 701'd everything in sight then just hung out somewhere else, PEERing into the room to see if they were dead. By about 33, I got annoyed, then hunted Kiramon until I was about level 50. Then moved to Gossamer Valley. Illistim has a pretty good progression thats relatively easy for Sorcerers, starting with Kiramon.

I loved RR back before when the boot was there, hung out in the krolvin boat and liked to rest in the node there, last time I went though the node was gone, tried the jungle and was quickly overwhelmed, but this was a few levels ago I think it would be fun to check it out again, I'm liking the small towns and the communities formed from them.

I'll give zul a look too, never been there and it would be fun to try something totally new.

Yeah before in GS3, I had put some points into picking with my Sorcerer and was much more successful that my current guy. Things have changed though so farewell picking Sorcerer.

Thanks for the advice!

I'm late to the party as usual... regardless:

Dump the picking/disarming. 1x disarming just isn't enough. Near cap, 2x disarming isn't even enough.

As for level 28 and where to hunt... If you've never been there, you're right about perfect to check out the jungle and flats on Teras. Jungle trolls are 26 and the chieftains are 30. If you go across the bridge, you have level fire ogres, ash hags, lava trolls, and fire giants (level 28, 31, 34, 36.) A gnome should dodge most of the bullshit that area brings.

Just for the record, going "the hard road" with the maxed stats at cap placement is the way to be. I did that on my sorcerer, and I have no regrets. The road to cap wasn't the easiest, but the payout at the end was priceless. I suggest doing everything in your power to max your sorcerer CS. Any sacrifice you make is made up by better warding thresholds.
