Wandered over to the officials and found that there have been a number of teasers already released in recent days.
This is apparently armor:
Varulv gestures at you.
CS: +346 - TD: +322 + CvA: +15 + d100: +86 == +125
Warding failed!
A ragged wound rips open your jugular, which begins spurting blood.
You are stunned!
!S>
Varulv traces a sign that contorts in the air while he forcefully incants a dark invocation...
Varulv gestures at you.
As Varulv begins his attack, a sudden burst of fog erupts in a momentary swirl around you. When the fog clears, you are elsewhere.
[Lost in the Fog]
Endless tendrils of mist surround you in a constantly moving swirl of light and shadow.
Obvious paths: out
~V
Arrow type:
You nock your arrow, aim skyward, and with a quick draw, release the arrow into the air.
A sharp whistling accompanies the arrow’s journey into the sky until it is suddenly cut short by a loud explosion that rains sparks of dark crimson downward in fiery cascades. In quick succession, enormous jets of cerulean and silver sparkles shoot upward, and the vibrant motes of color whirl and spin as they spiral downward. A final charge ignites, shooting high into the air with a deafening report before bursting into a splash of viridian before flickering out of sight.
The colors can be customized.
There are also three other types, one of which can also be customized.
~ X., wheee.
More arrows:
>>How many other Hawk-eye arrows might we expect to find?
There will be four debuting at EG. However, I have a crazy long list of others I want to add along and along.
>>oooo, What might that look like third person from someone not in the same room as you. Similar to fire spirit or a warcamp being razed?
This one is just a pretty light show. However, there might be something...flare-ish...in my bag of tricks.
~ X.
Chrism Holders:
So... I posted some time ago that chrism gem holders would be seeing an update. Let me just give a rough idea of what to expect.
The ones for sale this year will all be considered holy symbols, attuned to the deity that the description depicts. That is for spell 340. Ones bought last year won't be auto converting to that, since this is just a added thing for this year. With that, the price on the holders are twice as much as last year. Every deity SHOULD be covered, including OTHER, as I've added quite a number of symbols to the Church of Koar (Liabo, Lornon, and everyone in between).
The messaging when you LOOK at a holder when dead has been updated to reflect some cosmetic changes when using the special ability, that update is already live and works with holders bought last year as well as this year (global change).
Spell 405 can be used on chrism gem holders to get some info about them, but not much. LORESING is still the best way to see all the details (in story form).
Lastly, there will be an auction quality version given out this year. Some found in digging and the other various games at EG (pig wrasslin', catfish noodlin, high striker, dark cottage, etc). The others will be give out by various means (auction, raffle, scavenger hunt, etc). I have a total of 5 to go out, per instance. Details on what all the auction quality version does will be more available as we get closer to EG!
Fusion shields:
Hi kids! Do you like fusion things? I do! And I hope you do too! Because there will be raffles for 3-slot fusion SHIELDS.
Beggar's Alley items:
The items sold at Beggar's Alley at Ebon Gate have been updated. These were handwraps, dirty robes, blindfolds, and canes.
There was a bug with the blindfolds and the unlocked handwraps that were resulting in permanently altered features in some cases. This is now resolved. If you have been living with cloth-swaddled eyes or a dirty face, please ASSIST to get these features cleared.
You can now ANALYZE the items for additional information about them.
And for those who have asked: yes, the script works on UAC handwraps, and yes, some are coming!

Starting to give serious thought to going OHE/shield, and one of those shields would go a LONG way towards convincing me. Bring it on.
I'll be happy with the digging and all the work I can get done over the course of the festival.

Wyrom was soliciting ideas on how to make the digging more interesting/satisfying/better. Most popular suggestion was multi-use shovels, though no direct response to that one. Someone else suggested critters popping out of boxes, which Wyrom liked, but he sounded pessimistic about it actually happening.
I've got a laundry list of things I want to get done at EG this year. Hopefully I can get a good chunk of it, unlike last year when I was unluckier than most. We'll see what happens.

The auctions always took place when I wasn't playing. Never been to one. Would love to see one. With all the Droughtman runs dumping high end gear into the population we might not see an auction in a while.

FLARES
Disintegration flares for melee weapons, runestaves, and unarmed combat gear. 10 winners total.
Plasma flares for melee weapons, runestaves, and unarmed combat gear. 10 winners total.
Flares can not be added to anything that exceeds eight enchantments (+40) or already has a special ability of any kind.
PADDING
Heavy padding (damage or critical) for cloth armors. 5 winners.
Heavy padding (damage of critical) for ANY armors. 5 winners. The tickets for these five drawings will be run separately and will be very expensive at first. They will also eliminate you from winning any other raffles during the event.
*1st round - 500,000 per ticket
*2nd round - 250,000 per ticket
*3rd round - 125,000 per ticket
*4th round - 75,000 per ticket
*5th round - 50,000 per ticket
An equivalent to heavy will be added in addition to existing padding of the same kind if the armor is already padded, to a maximum of fantastic.
Padding can not be added to anything that exceeds eight enchantments (+40), already has a different special ability of any kind (including non-fluff scripts). Make sure all temporary resistances are removed.
In regards to ALL of these raffles, there will be an additional cost for the service based on the enchantment of the item.

After further review,
These services have now been limited to Masterful padding. This is still a bit higher than what is normally allowed for a high-end padding service (the low end of Exceptional). All other limitations/requirements still apply.
Due to this change, the "any ASG armor" raffle will draw 5 winners from one barrel of tickets. Ticket prices will be 50000 silver. This will give everyone a fair shot at winning. Both Prime and Platinum runs will use this method.
The rough estimates on the chart are still applicable.
>>And you mentioned the need to remove temporary resistances, but will permanent ones be allowed?
Permanent ones are allowed, but will further increase the price of the padding service.

Hey everyone,
I have an update on the cost of padding. It will be reduced a little, especially for armors that already have a high value. The chart I provided is still an applicable guideline on what the final value will be, but you'd need to subtract the silvers value of your armor as it will be prior to having the padding added.
Heavier armors will still generally be more expensive to add padding to, but since they also typically have a higher value to begin with they will see the largest price reduction as well.
Again, the chart I provided is a very rough estimate on values. Final prices will be determined at the festival for those who win the raffle.
ie:
1) If the estimated value of your armor is currently 300,000 silvers, and after adding the padding the value increases to 3,000,000 silvers. You pay 2,700,000 silvers.
2) If the estimated value of your armor is currently 1,850,000 silvers, and after adding the padding the value increases to 12,500,000 silvers. You pay 10,650,000 silvers.
I hope this helps with the heavier armors a little. I don't expect everyone to be awestruck by this new information, but at least it is something to help you with making an educated decision on whether you would like to enter the "Any ASG" version of the raffle.

Storytelling and Death Dirges will be making a reappearance this year indeed! There will be other games as well, but since these two require preparation ahead of time, I'm letting you all know now.
The storytelling should be an original SCARY STORY. Something suspenseful, creepy, spooky, or downright chilling would fit into this contest perfectly.
Death Dirges should be an original song or poem about DEATH! These songs can be silly, scary, sad, or anything else, as long as the theme is death!
Please keep all stories/poems/songs to five minutes or less. You'll lose points if you go over, so please keep that in mind when writing and planning your presentations!
Prizes will be awarded to the winner(s)!

You glance down to see a tiny snub-nosed hedgehog in your right hand and nothing in your left hand.
Though similar to a porcupine, the hedgehog is smaller and its spines are no where near as dangerous. The spines are a mottled white and black, and completely cover the top and sides. You can see the soft white fur on its underside and four little pink feet underneath the protective spines. The ears aren't much more than tufts of fur, and its face is surrounded in white, save for two small black eyes and a little snout with whiskers that ends with a black nose.
Your snub-nosed hedgehog roots and wiggles around in your hand, apparently attempting to burrow.
You gingerly set the snub-nosed hedgehog on the ground.
You reach down and gently roll the snub-nosed hedgehog over onto its back.
You reach out and tickle the snub-nosed hedgehog's soft stomach.
The hedgehog kicks in delight!
You gingerly pick up the snub-nosed hedgehog.
You draw your snub-nosed hedgehog up close to your face and touch noses with it.
~ X., d'awwwww.
>>Love these. How many are going out?
Five, in total.

It's pretty ridiculous how they charge so much more for armor services on heavy armors. The classes that wear heavy armors already pay for it in TPs and their classes are balanced around using them. It's not like plate is some luxury upgrade everyone can use.

Not to mention they charge more depending on what metal the item is made out of. I don't see why they can't offer the raffle spots and the winners of those tickets WIN armor padding. It also seems a bit silly that they will pad armor that already has padding but they won't add padding to armor if it has fusion slots or *gasp* zests. I mean, I know zested armor is some seriously overpowered shit, but still..
Donquix
09-11-2012, 10:03 PM
well zests are a technical thing, they take up the same "slot" for an item as padding if I recall so it can't have a "functional" script (which is a loose definition, at best) and padding. Given their systems i assume it would be a mammoth undertaking (by their standards) to rectify that.
I get the silver cost in general just not the disparity between armor types. They want it to be a silver drain, of course, the distribution of silver is such that it's either crippling on you because you're poor or it has absolutely zero effect on you. There's not a whole lot of middle class people still playing.
I thought he said 'functional' zests, not just zests in general. So pauldron scripts would be fine as an example, but self-mana armors wouldn't, or mist armor, shadowdeath vambraces, etc...

I have a couple of questions about EG (this will be my first time attending)...
The raffle for the armor padding - I understand how raffles work. What I'm curious about is will they sell armor padding services outside of the raffle, or do you have to win the raffle to get the service?
Also, I have a set of spiked, flaring, stat and skill enhancing brig. Will that accept the padding should I win? It doesn't sound like it, but wanted confirmation.
Thanks.

Haha, this. I've always been kind of poor IG relative to others, but I've noticed the disparity has gotten pretty ridiculous since I started playing again. Seems like it's especially much more common for people to have high end armor. I wear plate and it would take up more than half of my silver just to enter the +20 auction. Maybe one of these days I'll find an item on a creature that goes for 100 million silvers. Until then, most of my gear is plain 4x, unfortunately. You don't necessarily NEED high end items to make it through the game anyway.

from Tamuz:
The Art of Permanence
If you don't already have him highlighted, put Bazzelwyn on your merchant lists! He'll be offering to make your delicate enhancive item far sturdier than normal. For a hefty fee, Bazzelwyn can make a single enhancive item no longer crumble when depleted. This will not effect the rechargeable-ness of the item. Cost for this service will cap at 1,000,000 silver for truly exceptional enhancive items, but may be far less for less impressive pieces.
This services is limited to a single (1) item per account over the course of the week. The service will be offered multiple times, and announced loudly. Since the customer base will get progressively smaller with each offering, I don't anticipate trouble in getting to pretty much everyone who wants it (I assume most of you).

I wonder what they'll do with the few outlier armors that have rediculously high values, like 100m or more? My recollection is that some of these are even lighter end armors, where the existing value will be less than the proposed price: "here's your armor, and a 43 million silver credit! Hope you're happy with our special pricing system!"

I don't think it is possible to add padding and have the final product worth less than the original state.

That won't happen since if you had like 10x armor that is worth 9 mil now. when you get padded it will tag on about another 20 plus mil on to the loresing value. same with a 100 mil armor it will probably tag on certain percent of the original value

there are outlier items that sing as way over what they should, in theory those would get corrected by the GM doing this service, but relying on that would be as foolish as thinking the NFL was going to change the call on last nights game.
It is nice that they at least made a correction to the pricing however minor that correction really is, plate wearers are still going to get massively screwed.
The basis they use is "value" of armor causing the cost, Strangely of the top 10 most valuable armors only one is plate class, I think they need to look at item values from the players standpoint not from their own standpoint.

Agreed. Since "value" is arbitrary at best, it makes no sense to use it as a basis for service cost. I think the correction is the best concession that Mars could get from whomever decided on this policy. I'm pretty sure the whole pricing structure wasn't his idea.
Hopefully, based on the feedback they've gotten, they'll rethink this method for determining service price. I would say that the move towards this direction has been something of a slow evolution over the last few years, and it needs to stop. Otherwise "winners" of such raffles are going to stop feeling like they've actually won something.
As for "top 10 armors" that's an interesting discussion all by itself... I believe we had that one just for plate armors a year or two ago.

I think you're right about this. From his posts he seemed to be assigned this as a major service and got stuck with all the backlash. It doesn't affect me, but if it did I'd be glad he made the effort.

Yeah, it doesn't affect me either, since I don't use padded armor these days. Though to be truthful, I won't hesitate to bring a set with me in the hopes of getting it padded, if the price isn't absurd.

Tamuz's service summary http://forums.play.net/forums/GemStone%20IV/Quests`Sagas`Events/Ebon%20Gate%20Festival/view/3558
I'll be offering the following specialty services and raffles at Ebon Gate this year:
Kroderine Weapons
Each winner will be able to select a weapon to be custom made from this rare material. Certain restrictions apply (no claidhmores, no katanas, no naginatas, weapons must be made out of metal normally so no bows or runestaves. Others may apply, but those are the main ones.)
Kroderine Armor
Each winner will be able to select a shield of any size, or a piece of armor (studded leather or heavier) made from this rare material.
Spiritual Item Recharging
There will be multiple sessions of recharging for your spiritual magic items. No scrolls will be worked on. Limit of 1 item per customer per session. Bring on the spoons, they'll be 240,000 silver per on recharging.
Ice Chunk rings
Remember those fancy fireball rings? Same idea, but cold as ice!
The Art of Permanence
Have a beloved enhancive item but you worry about it crumbling away? This can be fixed for a hefty fee! As detailed in a previous post, this service is limited to one per account over the course of the event, so choose wisely!
Gnomery!
Bazzelwyn will be around to work with his wand-holding staves, and upgrade them as well. He might also be amenable to customizing imbue boxes for rangers who can use them. Finally, he has a new offering for this year, real magical casting gloves! From a previous post on the subject:
>wave my gloves at Auchand
You wave your hands around wildly, gesturing at Auchand with erratic, exaggerated motions.
1d100: 66 + Modifiers: 322 == 388
A small circular container suddenly appears and floats rather serenely over to Auchand.
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.
>wave my gloves at Auchand
Holding your fingers stiffly together, you extend a hand with your palm facing Auchand.
1d100: 30 + Modifiers: 367 == 397
You hurl a small surge of electricity at Auchand!
AS: +421 vs DS: +50 with AvD: +35 + d100 roll: +53 = +459
... and hit for 68 points of damage!
Massive electrical shock to the left hand destroys flesh. What remains is useless.
He is stunned!
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.

Wyrom's offerings - http://forums.play.net/forums/GemStone%20IV/Quests%60Sagas%60Events/Ebon%20Gate%20Festival/view/3573
Chrism Holder Purifying - A very small number of Beyond-the-Gate goers will get a chance at a purified chrism holder. What is the purifying? If you are one of the lucky ones to obtain this service, your chrism holder will allow you to LOOK at it while dead, and with a gem loaded inside of it, to automatically apply the chrism effect to your dead carcass. No gem to hit the ground. No need for a pesky cleric! Seek Brother Balbaroy in the Church of Koar.
Bandit and Grimswarm Slayers - Fueled by his father's death, Gioh will be using his forging hammer to improve your weapons into tools to take down either bandits or Grimswarm with more ease.
Torches - Find Skryn to get custom flames added to your torches and lanterns (more info about torches and lanterns to come).
The Art of Casting - One lucky person (per instance) will learn a new way to cast spells (custom spell prep). Seeking Skryn will benefit you.
Elemental Recharging - Skryn will also be recharging elemental magical items. Limited to 1 item per customer per session.
Odds and Ends - Lahke will also be about to make your lockpicks more concealable under your tongue. There is also an Abandoned General Store with new general store-esque items. The kiosk will no longer sell brochures, but it will sell torches this year. Rumors have it, there is a murdering butcher somewhere in Feywrot Mire selling pieces of his victims.

Jainna's offerings http://forums.play.net/forums/GemStone%20IV/Quests`Sagas`Events/Ebon%20Gate%20Festival/view/3597
Just to hop on the bandwagon, here are the services I'll be offering this year at Ebon Gate.
Master Quality Instruments
Andagia will return with several premade instruments, as well as slots for upgrading your own instruments to Master Quality. Some number of these will be BARD ONLY.
Premium Transporter Messaging
I'll be adding the Ebon Gate only messaging to transporters at this festival, as well as the other choices available if desired. I will not be adding grounding at this time because you can't ground in/from Feywrot Mire! This service is for Premium members only.
Unlocking
If all goes according to plan, I will have two types of items to unlock this year. One being Sammee's morphing containers. The other being something new that I'll tease when I'm sure it's going to come out!
Gear Raffles
Some 4x flaring robes as well as some sets of 4x acid flaring boots/gloves will be raffled. These raffles will NOT be restricted by profession.
Games/Contests
The live games from last year will be returning! As previously mentioned, both Storytelling and Death Dirges are among the games again this year, so get your creative juices flowing!
Costume Contest
Yes, a costume contest will take place this year. Categories are Most Elegant, Funniest, Scariest, and Best Overall. Start working on those ideas!

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Some merchants will do general alter/lighten/deepen on various items (so, say, you've been wanting your armor to have a custom look, this could be a good time to get it done), or will add things like flares to your existing items. Other merchants will only work on items from their particular shop (this personally drives me nuts, 'cause then I have to come up with something on the fly!). I don't think I've ever seen an EG unlocking session done for things you can't get right there.
Kronius

A lot of times you'll get merchants that release scripted items at EG, and will work on unlocking them throughout the week. Clothing items, Theammer weapon scripts, Dhyne scripts, all that kinda stuff, you can get unlocked as the week progresses.

I'm trying to decide if I should buy a ticket or not. I'm going to be out of town until 11/4, then most of the time that i'll be on will be during the day (I very seldomly play during prime time hours). Would it be worth it for me to purchase a ticket if this is the case?

Very much so, yes.
Granted much of the merchanting and raffles occurs the first weekend. However, a lot of merchants do show during the week and there will be some straggling raffles, maybe one to two per night after the weekend. However, there is plenty of shopping and it's been pretty good items (fluff mostly) that have been at the Gate the last couple years or more now. Also, the trick or treating is great, the games are even better and the digging this year is going to be pretty over the top based on Wyrom's last post about digging changes.

New and Improved Digging on 10/08/2012 02:24 AM EDT

I always hated that phrasing. If it's new, how is it improved? Anyway...
Overview
Digging will be seeing a face lift this year. A lot of the changes were back end things, but a number of things will be new and exciting I hope! You will find new shovels, prizes, and boxes. You will now have a chance to find minor treasure on failed attempts. You have a chance to earn a temporary title while digging. These titles will be like those you get around New Years that are cleared after you log off and back in.
Shovels
The first most noticeable thing will be shovels. Shovels have some verbs that can be used for fluff interactions. All shovels can be ANALYZE'd to determine what they are. There are now three types of shovels.
-- Single Use
These shovels have a single use, which shatter once you attempt to find some buried treasure. These shovels are now 1000 silvers. They have a random determined amount of dig attempts before finding treasure. The goblin selling these is now outside the hut from last year.
-- Limited Use
These shovels have 25 uses and will cost 25000 silvers. Since they have the advantage of encumbrance, they come with the disadvantage that they take a bit longer to find treasure. This goblin is somewhere around Feymist Cemetery. You'll need to look around to find him to buy his stash.
-- Unlimited Use
These shovels will be good forever for the area they are built for. So an unlimited shovel intended for Feywrot Mire won't work in Velathae (if it were still here, I just needed an example). Two of these will be released per instance this year. They can be altered.
Prizes
Digging will now have the chance to pull multiple tiers of prizes, similar to the other games around Feywrot Mire. There will still be a chance of silvers, notes, and gems including the tiered prizes. Also, a new type of prize will be debuting at Ebon Gate. I've named it Hidden Treasure. These items will appear to be a clod of dirt, clump of debris, or various other things. You can rub, clean, tap, or break them to try to find treasure within. These Hidden Treasures aren't exclusive to digging, but are part of the new digging system.
Pins
There is a new pin this year, comes equipped with some fluff verb traps!
Boxes
The boxes you find are now scripted and can be kept as a keepsake if desired. There are PLENTY more materials that can be created, as well as several types of boxes.
Coffins
You can now dig up coffins, sarcophagi or caskets. Be warned, they are sealed and can be heavy. No, they don't need to be picked. But you'll need to use your brute strength to pry them open. And they are heavy because they have a corpse inside. No, the corpse can't be removed, but you can find many different races of skeletal remains within.
Temporary Title
You have a small chance to receive the title Gravedigger. This title is temporary and will be removed when you log out. To get it again, you'll need to dig and hope to achieve it once again.
Messaging
There is now different messaging dependent on the area and terrain.
Rangers
Rangers can now determine if the area is a proper place to dig.
Hopefully I'm not missing anything. But that's what to expect this year!

Are the raffles "must be present" to win? Like I said, I don't usually play during the nights so this wouldn't really be applicable to me.

Most will be must be present or at least logged in. Actually, they're all likely to need at least one of those stipulations. Even without the raffles it's worth going, in my opinion.

Abandoned General Store teaser http://forums.play.net/forums/GemStone%20IV/Quests%60Sagas%60Events/Ebon%20Gate%20Festival/view/3634
General Store Fluff
I teased bedrolls, but with it, we'll have a few other items available at an abandoned general store discovered in Feywrot Mire.
Inside, you'll find lanterns, rope, badrolls, hiking packs, and ration kits. In the kiosk that formerly sold brochures, you can find torches.
Torches and Lanterns
These can be lit with ease. No need to have a fire source to work with them, as they are purely fluff. But, should you cast a fire spell at them to light them, they will have a different color flame. And if you get the chance, there will be an option to get your own custom fire that will override all other flame types.
Rope
Just several fluff traps that may be fun as a prop. Rope SHOULD still work as a garrote. But outside that, it will be fluff.
Bedrolls
Teased those for tent owners. But they will be able to be used anywhere. Like the "AllMine" script, no one will be able to grab it off the ground when you place it there, but that does not mean it is safe from the janitor should you leave the area.
Hiking Pack and Ration Kit
Just fancy containers to put items in. They will look for certain types of items to provide different messaging.

+5 30000 silvers

What exactly does the highlighted part mean? If it already has flares or is currently weighted this will stack with it? That's certainly what it sounds like. Also, the upper tier of decent would be 8 points. Sigil of major bane adds heavy crit weighting but does anyone know exactly how many points? Heavy ranges between 9 and 11.
Drakefang
10-08-2012, 08:27 PM
Yes, it is ADDED to whatever your weapon already has on it. It was indicated that some of the combat scripting such as Ironwright flares or attached strings (I presume since nothing specific was listed) might not work with this ability, but would be handled on an individual basis. I just threw those two out there as potential examples, nothing more.

Zegg cackled gleefully to himself, taking a moment to clean the blood from his dagger on the tunic of one of his victims. Pausing for a moment, he looked over his handiwork. Four guards and the merchant himself, dead. But that was how Zegg liked Elves.
Nodding in quiet approval Zegg leapt up onto the tongue of the wagon and peered into the dark shadows beneath the canopy covering its wares. A crooked grin slowly crossed his ugly face as he began to rummage carelessly through various straw-filled crates.
"A fine shipment," Zegg muttered to himself as he pulled out several vaalorn blades, running a grimy finger along their edge. Suddenly he paused, reaching further into the wagon and withdrawing two long crimson weapons, each crafted of the finest eahnor. Zegg let out a low whistle as he slid both the katana and claidhmore to his tattered baldric and continued sorting through various wares with obvious glee...

item labels (http://forums.play.net/forums/GemStone%20IV/Quests`Sagas`Events/Ebon%20Gate%20Festival/view/3737)
Tired of looking in your lockers and not being able to remember what properties all your gear has? Remember those labels you could put on potions so that you could remember what was in them? Well, don't you wish you could put labels like that on your gear? Oh wait, now you can!
Introducing gear labels!
You remove a fluffy feather quill from in your bag.
You remove an antique vellum label from in your bag.
write The item is 4x, fire flares, and enhances strength
With quick strokes, you write your message on your vellum label with your feather quill.
G>read my label
The vellum label reads, "The item is 4x, fire flares, and enhances strength"
put label on my longsword
You need to peel the backing off your label before you can stick it to something.
pull my label
You tug on the edge of your label, removing the paper backing and revealing a sticky layer beneath.
put label on my longsword
You carefully position the vellum label in an appropriate location on your vultite longsword and smooth it into place.
look my longsword
You see nothing unusual.
There appears to be something written on it.
read my longsword
An antique vellum label secured around the hilt of the the vultite longsword reads, "The item is 4x, fire flares, and enhances strength."
Gear labels can be unlocked and altered, but they will be destroyed once you attach it to an item. Make a mistake on your label? No worries, you can clean the ink off. Added spikes to your shield and need to change what your shield says? No problem, just slap on another label. It will take the place of the old one.
Unlocking them just opens up a few fluffy actions like...
tap my label
You tap the vellum label against your cheek, wondering what to write.
eat my label
You quickly pop the vellum label into your mouth, chew it up, and swallow it. So much for evidence!
Enjoy!

Thanks to some suggestions, a few changes have been made to this script! Thanks for the HUGE help to GMs Tamuz and Vanah!
1. Label boxes can now also be purchased that will allow you to bundle the labels. Each box will hold 10 labels off the shelf and will be able to be deepened by my merchant to hold more. In the future, other merchants can deepen these as well. This is NOT a standard service for anyone offering deepening though, only merchants with permission can do so. However, any merchant can alter the box with a long description or a show. Analyze has info.
2. Labels can be altered with a base (15/15/15) change, or a long description up to 60 characters. These show up when you attach the label to an item. For instance: An antique vellum label with gold edges secured around the hilt of the longsword reads, "This item is 4x, fire flaring, and enhances strength." Any merchant can alter these.
3. Label boxes will hold only labels of the same description, so if you want to stock up on multiple styles you'll need multiple boxes.
4. Label boxes can be unlocked so that any labels that are put inside will be automatically unlocked when you take them out again. When your box is empty, this setting will remain, so any labels you put in your box will continue to be unlocked upon removal. For now, only my merchant can do this unlocking.
5. I will be offering various services related to labels and label boxes at Ebon Gate, the shop is Sing Me an Epithet. Look for Nyck. Yay!

Way, way too many raffles have been MAJOR wins in my opinion. 1x per day donut box was a major win, 200 count label box was a major win, kroderine weapons and the kroderine armor/shield is major, the padding (rightfully so), and some others that I don't recall off-hand.
It's been all over the board in terms of what quality the items being offered for major wins were. Some very lame major win restrictions.

Only enter the ones where you'll be satisfied if it ends up locking you out. They were pretty loose with the major wins in previous years and had people walk out with multiple high profile goodies. Not surprised they'd toy around with some of the settings.

If it's anything like the frying pan that cooks bacon then a box full of infinite krispy kremes is well worth the price of a ticket and major raffle win.
It is not. It's just a donut box that refills itself once per day.

In the Common language, it reads:
These labels can be written on and attached to armor and weapons.
Which I find very useful for remembering what my stuff does!
The quill and stylus are fancy and can be worn behind your ear. They will also work to write on the labels!
I’ll be around at some point to make my labels more interesting.
Yeah. So no labeling your enhancives or scripted clothes.

Any Plat players know how/when those tiny hedgehogs were given out? raffle/spinning/tiered prize on the games? Or if they were even released at all?
I totally would drain my bank account for one of those and would be sorely upset if I missed an opportunity to try for one during the Prime run.
If you know the name of the merchant who gave them out, too, I'd appreciate it.

Hey Nilandia, on your list, the "Bits and Pieces" store (room 16, "a dark skin and hide tent"), I think you've got the skull and femur scrolls backwards... the skull should have 905/911/507/508, and the femur should have 101/107/103/202, according to the sign. (Or, I suppose, the sign may be backwards. I don't have an EG ticket, so I can't check.)

Regarding the spell-absorbing gloves, if anyone missed:
I'm not Bazzelwyn, but I am familiar with the script. The gloves only absorb items that have activators RAISE and WAVE. So RUB and TAP items are OUT OUT OUT!

Here is a list of all the glove descriptors I could find, plus the "basic" list provided by the merchants. Options in bold are showing the full verb action. From the looks of it, you can get one of both WAVE and RAISE unlocked, but no more.
In the Common language, it reads:
Spell Casting Glove choices!
WAVE:
1. You extend your index finger, pointing directly at YOUR TARGET as runic symbols surround your black silk gloves, shimmering brightly.
2. Pointing with 2 fingers
3. Pointing with 3 fingers
4. Pointing with the whole hand
5. You splay your fingers wide, and extend your hand with your palm facing YOUR TARGET.
6. Holding your fingers stiffly together, you extend a hand with your palm facing YOUR TARGET.
7. You clench your hand into a fist, and make a punching motion at YOUR TARGET as a brilliant corona of blue light trails from your black mithglin gauntlets.
8. Intricate gestures
9. You wave your hands around wildly, gesturing at YOUR TARGET with erratic, exaggerated motions.
10. Dismissive gesture
11. You snap your fingers at YOUR TARGET, and a pale green light surrounds your hand.
12. You turn your gaze toward YOUR TARGET and clap your hands together, fingers pointing directly upwards.
13. Intricate pattern.
14. Hand over heart, pointing
15. You touch your temple with one hand, and gesture at YOUR TARGET with your other hand.
16. Sharp chopping motion
17. Throwing motion
18. You kiss the tips of your fingers, then blow across the palm of your gloves toward YOUR TARGET.
RAISE:
1. You raise one hand high in the air, streamers of light following its upward path.
2. You raise your hands high above your head, as your silk casting gloves are surrounded by a bright glow.
3. You curl your fingers until they resemble claws, and quickly bring your hand up in a sweeping gesture.
4. You lift a hand up, and then bring it down in a sharp gesture.
5. You raise a hand, your index finger extended, and bring it down at a sharp angle across your body.
At least one merchant was letting you unlock one of each, as long as you paid for both. Very cool stuff.

So I bought a bunch of the perfumes from the cottage in room 58, I didn't see their scents listed anywhere, so here! If it is a duplicate, apologies. Also, I don't think I got all of them, but most for sure.
You sniff delicately at the chalcedony bottle, and detect the faint scent of velvety soft jonquil, reticulated with essences of linden flower and balsa wood.
You sniff delicately at the spun glass bottle, and detect the faint scent of winter rose and sheer musk twined subtly with hints of flowery dark plum.
You sniff delicately at the crystalline bottle, and detect the faint scent of autumnal leaves laced over sweetly redolent top notes of persimmon and quince.
You sniff delicately at the marble bottle, and detect the faint scent of verdant sea grasses over a subtle undercurrent of callow sweetfern and valerian.
You sniff delicately at the blue glass bottle, and detect the faint scent of the unique tanginess of the sea.
You sniff delicately at the green pottery bottle, and detect the faint scent of crisp green apples.
You sniff delicately at the dark bronze bottle, and detect the faint scent of a smoky haze of sweet incense, tinged faintly with mustiness.
You sniff delicately at the paper white bottle, and detect the faint scent of a whiff of parchment and dust.
You sniff delicately at the crystalline bottle, and detect the faint scent of charred wood and ashes.
You sniff delicately at the snowy white bottle, and detect the faint scent of soap and freshly laundered cloth.
You sniff delicately at the red clay bottle, and detect the faint scent of rusty metal and aged wood, with traces of dust and sulfur.
You sniff delicately at the niveous crystal flask, and detect the faint scent of lightly flowery iceblossom, wreathed with heady inclusions of heliotrope and damask rose.
You sniff delicately at the glazed clay vial, and detect the faint scent of refreshing teaberry leaves pierced with accents of pink peppercorn and cinnamon amber.
You sniff delicately at the green emerald flacon, and detect the faint scent of oakmoss, steeped in the redolence of rich earth and deep woods.
You sniff delicately at the gold-caged flasket, and detect the faint scent of dark red wine smoothed by floral strawberry blossom accords.

Buzzly was adding scripts to claidhmores and axes, he added this to mine:
wave - You spin around and wave your eonake battle axe wildly, as though attacking an unseen opponent.
clench - You grimly spit on your hands and regrip your eonake battle axe, ready to do battle.
raise - You make a show of brandishing your eonake battle axe, swinging it in tightly controlled arcs.
push - You swing your eonake battle axe up into the air over your shoulder then down toward the ground in a powerful chopping motion.
rub - You gingerly run your finger over your eonake battle axe, testing the sharpness of the blade.

Messing around with the arrows in Eye of the Hawk.
*You have to have a target to fire these.
*Fireworks*
Peacock Blue Arrows:
You nock your peacock blue arrow, aim skyward, and with a quick draw, release the arrow into the air.
A sharp whistling accompanies the arrow’s journey into the sky until it is suddenly cut short by a loud explosion that rains sparks of gold downward in fiery cascades. In quick succession, enormous jets of peacock blue and silver sparkles shoot upward, and the vibrant motes of color whirl and spin as they spiral downward. A final charge ignites, shooting high into the air with a deafening report before bursting into a splash of azure before flickering out of sight.
Russet Arrows:
You nock your russet arrow, aim skyward, and with a quick draw, release the arrow into the air.
A sharp whistling accompanies the arrow’s journey into the sky until it is suddenly cut short by a loud explosion that rains sparks of absinthe green downward in fiery cascades. In quick succession, enormous jets of russet and willow sparkles shoot upward, and the vibrant motes of color whirl and spin as they spiral downward. A final charge ignites, shooting high into the air with a deafening report before bursting into a splash of burnt umber before flickering out of sight.
Violet and Canary Arrows:
You nock your canary arrow, aim skyward, and with a quick draw, release the arrow into the air.
A sharp whistling accompanies the arrow’s journey into the sky until it is suddenly cut short by a loud explosion that rains sparks of bright violet downward in fiery cascades. In quick succession, enormous jets of canary yellow and pale lavender sparkles shoot upward, and the vibrant motes of color whirl and spin as they spiral downward. A final charge ignites, shooting high into the air with a deafening report before bursting into a splash of goldenrod before flickering out of sight.
*Signal Arrows*
Ruby-banded Arrows:
You nock your ruby-banded arrow, aim skyward, and with a quick draw, release the arrow into the air.
Streaking upward, an obsidian ruby-banded arrow ignites and creates a wake of white-hot sparks as it climbs into the air. Reaching the apex of its journey, the arrow explodes in a shower of obsidian that blossoms to fill the sky and the percussion of which sends a subtle tremor through the earth. Only a moment later, a secondary blast erupts, and cracked skull is projected into the heavens in an array of ruby incandescence. The image hangs in the sky for several moments before dissipating in a glittering, multi-hued cascade of light
* I also couldn't fire the next signal flare immediately afterwards. I received this message: The afterimages of your last signal flare still hang in the air; perhaps you should wait before firing another.
Argent-banded Arrows:
Streaking upward, a blue argent-banded arrow ignites and creates a wake of white-hot sparks as it climbs into the air. Reaching the apex of its journey, the arrow explodes in a shower of electric blue that blossoms to fill the sky and the percussion of which sends a subtle tremor through the earth. Only a moment later, a secondary blast erupts, and sinuous drake is projected into the heavens in an array of argent incandescence. The image hangs in the sky for several moments before dissipating in a glittering, multi-hued cascade of light.
Bronze-banded Arrows:
You nock your bronze-banded arrow, aim skyward, and with a quick draw, release the arrow into the air.
Streaking upward, a viridian bronze-banded arrow ignites and creates a wake of white-hot sparks as it climbs into the air. Reaching the apex of its journey, the arrow explodes in a shower of viridian that blossoms to fill the sky and the percussion of which sends a subtle tremor through the earth. Only a moment later, a secondary blast erupts, and coiled serpent is projected into the heavens in an array of bronze incandescence. The image hangs in the sky for several moments before dissipating in a glittering, multi-hued cascade of light.
*Light and Dark Arrows*
White Arrows:
You nock your white arrow, aim skyward, and with a quick draw, release the arrow into the air.
As the arrow climbs into the sky, it begins to break apart, and each miniscule piece catches aflame. The air seems to thicken overhead, and the fragments are caught and slowed, falling so painfully slowly that they seem barely to move in their descent as the flames shed light over the entire area.
The area becomes brighter.
Grey Arrow:
You nock your grey arrow, aim skyward, and with a quick draw, release the arrow into the air.
As the arrow climbs into the sky, the helical pattern of its fletchings produces a tight spin in the arrow’s flight. Each revolution of the arrow increases the centrifugal force, until tiny compartments along the shaft of the arrow spring open! Tendrils of ebon smoke curl outward and downward from the arrow, coursing wildly over the air currents in a race toward the ground. As they reach the earth, they pool and coalesce into a thick, writhing blanket of shadow.
The area becomes darker.

Whistle on The Wind scents
You sniff delicately at the head-shaped jar, and detect the faint scent of spoiled and rotting seafood
You sniff delicately at the bulbous yellow bottle, and detect the faint scent of rotting meat, bile, and decay.
You sniff delicately at the murky green flask, and detect the faint scent of musty earth and stagnate water.
You sniff delicately at the red-brown vial, and detect the faint scent of pus and rotting flesh.
You sniff delicately at the ebon glass jar, and detect the faint scent of a mixture of sulfur, rotting cabbage, and burning plants.
You sniff delicately at the dark violet vial, and detect the faint scent of hemlock.
You sniff delicately at the misshapen bottle, and detect the faint scent of bile and undigested food.
You sniff delicately at the pale amber-set flask, and detect the faint scent of smoky-sweet with a coppery twinge.

If the merchant that made them shows up to do services, they'll probably unlock them.

>get naginata
A sales clerk steps over to you and says, "Ah, a fine choice sir. A green-swirled slender mithril naginata sells for 1582000 silvers. You can BUY the slender mithril naginata if you like."
Why is the naginata so much more expensive? Is it some type of uber weapon?

Naginatas have that innate +20 AvD or AS, so they're priced accordingly.

I sent in an e-mail to Reidyn and she sent me a link with instructions with how to customize/alter her hats. It's https://docs.google.com/document/d/1D9DSp_2WlBlFzRqjSkdltejx5onFsXnZU2V92pweGC4/edit
Or Copy/Pasted For Convenience:
Congratulations on your win! I look forward to working with you to design one of my newly released scripted hairstyling items. There are several aspects that can be customized and a few things worth keeping in mind as you contemplate your design.
First, a rundown on the basic functions of the item in case you are unfamiliar. Each item has three different looks, or “sides” – one for when the item is empty, one for when the item has a gem in it, and one for when the item has a feather in it. While each side must keep the same noun, all be “long” descriptions, and the basic material should remain the same, they are otherwise largely free from alteration restrictions. Nilandia’s site has a good example of what this looks like:
Using a teardrop of smooth honey amber and a grey-swept blue heron feather:
Empty: an oval alum filigree barrette backed in dark green kelyn
Gem: an oval alum filigree barrette dangling tiny smooth honey amber droplets
Feather: an oval alum filigree barrette strung with a trio of blue heron feathers
In addition to having three customizable looks, these items also support up to three custom hairstyles. When worn, the item will replace your normal hairstyle field with the custom one you set up. An example of this would be:
She has long, razor-sheared white blonde hair falling in straight layers about her form.
vs.
She has long, razor-sheared white blonde hair and a black velvet capotain pinned with a spray of curled sky blue plumes worn at a rakish angle.
The bolded section, everything that comes after the word hair, is the section that Is customizable. The item need not come at the end, however.
It is also worth noting that the items are categorized into three groups, those being: Hats, Headbands, and Barrettes. Each group has a set of approved nouns, and the messaging for some of the available verbs changes based on which group the item belongs to. The approved nouns, by group, are as follows:
Hats: Hat, Cap, Tricorn€, Capotain
Headbands: Headband(s), Diadem, Circlet, Tiara, Crown, Garland
Barrettes: Barrette, Haircomb, Fascinator, Cockade, Ornament, Headpiece, Ribbon(s)
And the relevant verbs are:
TWIST
Hats
1st Person: Feeling slightly flustered, you lift your tricorn up just long enough to sweep your other hand over your white-blonde hair. You quickly return the tricorn to your head as you offer the world a sheepish grin.
3rd Person: Looking a little flustered, XXX lifts up her black velvet tricorn just long enough to sweep her other hand over her purple hair. She quickly returns the tricorn to her head and offers a sheepish grin.
Headbands
1st Person: Feeling slightly flustered, you begin to nervously chew on your lower lip and repeatedly attempt to tuck an imagined strand of hair under your headbands. Realizing your what you're doing, you quickly lower hand as you feel a warm flush creeping up your neck and face.
3rd Person: Looking a little flustered, XXX begins to nervously chew on her lower lip and repeatedly attempts to tuck an imagined strand of hair under her cocoa leather headbands. Realizing what she's doing, she quickly lowers her hand as a faint blush creeps up her neck and face.
Barrettes
1st Person: Feeling slightly flustered, you begin to subconsiously twist a strand of white-blonde hair around your barrette. Realizing what you're doing, you quickly lower your hand and adopt a more composed demeanor to face to the world.
3rd Person: Looking a little flustered, XXX begins to subconsiously twist a strand of white-blonde hair around her metal barrette. Realizing what she's doing, she quickly lowers her hand and adopts a more composed demeanor.
ATTEND
Hats
1st Person: Standing tall and puffing out your chest in a grand display of bravado, you carefully attend to your black velvet tricorn then glance around nonchalantly to see if anyone noticed. Your gaze lingers on XXX for a heartbeat, the sight of her bringing an shy smile to your face.
2nd Person: Standing tall and puffing out her chest in a grand display of bravado, XXX carefully attends to her black velvet tricorn then glances around nonchalantly to see if anyone noticed. Her gaze lingers on you for a heartbeat as a slow smile comes to her face.
3rd Person: Standing tall and puffing out her chest in a grand display of bravado, Reidyn carefully attends to her black velvet tricorn then glances around nonchalantly to see if anyone noticed.
Headbands
1st Person: You attend to your cocoa leather headbands, carefully smoothing the hair underneath, and adopt a regal air as you survey the area. Catching XXX's eye, you shoot her an approving glance and give a slight, meaningful nod toward a spot in front of you.
2nd Person: XXX attends to her cocoa leather headbands, carefully smoothing the hair underneath, and adopts a regal air as she surveys the area. Catching your eye, she shoots you an approving look and gives a slight, meaningful nod toward a spot in front of her.
3rd Person: XXX attends to her cocoa leather headbands, carefully smoothing the hair underneath, and adopts a regal air as she surveys the area.
Barrettes
1st Person: You glance down coyly, fingers absently attending to your metal barrette, as an enigmatic expression plays across your face. Without raising your head, you lift your gaze towards XXX and offer her a private smile.
2nd Person: XXX glances down coyly, fingers absently attending to her metal barrette, as an enigmatic expression plays across her face. Without raising her head, she lifts her gaze towards you and offers a private smile.
3rd Person: XXX glances down coyly, fingers absently attending to her metal barrette, as an enigmatic expression plays across her face.
Keep these differences between the three different groups of items in mind when creating your item, as the noun will determine which set of messaging you receive.
Finally, as a limited service, both NOD and SHAKE verbs may be fully customized. This includes both targeted and untargeted versions for both verbs. It may be helpful to think of these as custom verbs that apply only when the item is worn and used, i.e. NOD HAT AT <TARGET>, SHAKE HEADBAND, etc. While highly customizable, it is important that the spirit in which these verbs are intended is honored, that is, they should be similar in effect to nodding or shaking one’s head. They need not make mention of the item in messaging, however.
As the holder of one of my purchase orders, you are entitled to:
Three custom looks (“sides”)
Three custom hair styles
All available verbs: PUSH, PULL, TURN, TWIST, TAP, ATTEND, NOD, SHAKE
Custom NOD and SHAKE messaging
Please be advised that, due to the custom messaging options, these items must be passed by QC before delivery can be made and that I will be submitting them in small batches of 5-10 items as the designs are completed, so it will be some time until your item is delivered. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!
~ GM Reidyn/Madam Veola

from the Loot Cellar (trapdoor in Holly, Wood, and Vine), these aren't listed on either merchant list (the items are, not the spells):
a jagged pale blue jade spike. Nihrvanah whispers, "11k, MR, wavable, Minor Cold, Arcane."
a translucent quartz crystal arrowhead Nihrvanah whispers, "10k, MR, Wavable, Mind Jolt."
a pitted dark green jade cylinder Nihrvanah whispers, "12k, MR, Wavable, Major Acid."
I only bought the 3 most expensive ones, maybe I'll get the cheaper ones later.

a jagged pale blue jade spike. Nihrvanah whispers, "11k, MR, wavable, Minor Cold, Arcane."
a translucent quartz crystal arrowhead Nihrvanah whispers, "10k, MR, Wavable, Mind Jolt."
a pitted dark green jade cylinder Nihrvanah whispers, "12k, MR, Wavable, Major Acid."
I only bought the 3 most expensive ones, maybe I'll get the cheaper ones later.
a carved dark red jasper flame (10250) - Major Fire
a splintered bleached femur bone (5.7k) - Bone Statter
a dark grey coral and iron prism (9.4k) - Pretty sure this was Minor Steam

BIG THANKS to everyone who worked hard to compile information and updates on the festival -- much appreciated!!
You saved me (and others) a lot of headache, and from potentially glossing over a lot of nifty stuff.
