Archaic rowan runestaff.
4LBS.
Normal Rowan enchant (1x)
Acid Flares
+5 Aura Stat
+5 Spell Aim Ranks
+2 Harness Power Ranks
+3 SMC Ranks
Sung to at 1.3mil.
Price check?
I'm hoping at some point to get the massive amount of premium points needed to take it to 4x. If I did take it to 4x, how much would it go up in value?
I wonder how much BP its going to cost... Went to the ADVguild, but it's fully charged, didnt get an estimate. I know it's going to be quite a bit.
With that said, the amount of BP needed to get it re- charged if I was to take it to 4x wouldn't change... would it? Does that go by enhancive properties?
Thanks

Sucks it has the flares, or you could have a mage enchant it cheap. Your options are to orb it (either for aura/spell aim) or hang on to it the next time Ledirth or another merchant does ability removals.
Ya it wouldn't be worth the PPs.
Thanks to skullcaps, +5 spell aim BONUS orbs can be cheaply found. Aura being rarer and usually found in lower bonuses, +5 stat isn't bad. So you could orb it for the +5 aura stat, buy a +5 spell aiming BONUS orb, and stick it in a 4x fusion runestaff for far far far less silver than the equivalent in PPs needed to take it to 4x. Then you'd just need to find a flaring merchant, which is not that uncommon.
PP enchanting is based on recharge cost, and RANKs are stupidly expensive to charge.

Seriously. Whenever you're contemplating using premium points ask yourself "is this the item I've been waiting 4+ years for?"
What I would do is sell this runestaff (there's surely someone who doesn't care that it's 1x and would be happy to drop a mil or so on this as-is for an alt), get a 4x fusion runestaff, get it enchanted if you like, wait for a merchant who's adding flares (there have been a few in the past couple of months), or don't and only spend ~1500 points (plus surcharge), then get a couple of good orbs. If you're talking about spending points that you've spent years accumulating, it behooves you to at least wait 6 months to take a more patient route. There's plenty of good orb fodder falling out of the hopper. Someone will sell something or you'll find it eventually.

With the advent of the auto-flarer (and the admission they'll likely have at EG), it's more and more likely that flarers are becoming more common. I believe once a quarter they've got the removal service as well. Simply have the flares removed and pay a wizard to bring it up to 4x. Then if you still want flares, adding them shouldn't be that big of a deal. Flaring a fusion runestaff requires special approval that isn't always available. Keep it, it's got great enhancives. I wouldn't worry too much about the recharge cost, I bought an enhancive runestaff right before EG last year, and I -just- now had to charge it. That's like 9 months worth of haevy use. Just remember to put it away.

Thanks everyone for the input.
I'm definitely going to keep it, it's great for my empath for sure. I like your idea Kronius, I think I'll do that. I wasn't aware the removal service was that frequent.
Interesting thing, I didn't find it, it was given to me randomly as someone didn't want it. He's a damn nice guy.

It does? Is that new? I got all mine done without any special thing.

Some merchants are authorized to flare fusion shit, and some are not. I know Felthrop will NOT add flares to fusion runestaves or armor. That sort of shit has to be approved ahead of time. Sometimes the merchant has authorization, sometimes they do not. Just depends on how generous the higher-ups are feeling when asked.

I'm on my phone now so can't check, but there's a flare / padding / spike removal merchant in premium coming soon. Think it's next week or the end of this week. Check the cal, get this badboy enchanted. Nice staff, very well rounded.
I just snagged one with wis / aim / mana / religion which goes great with my bolting cleric. It's the only staff I've had where I personally think it's better in most cases because of its versatility. My 12 dex / 11 aim is great for bolting, but I don't bolt 100%.
This is a good well-rounded staff worthy of hanging onto until you're pushing hard for that extra bolt AS.
I'll be at the merchant on three accounts with nothing that needs flares removed. Be more than happy to do it for you. Had a 1x with low but versatile stats and flares for the longest time (20-45?) That I wish was 4x or more.
Shoot me a PM if you would like, or need, help. Plenty can vouch.
