Hughmungus and I were beating the shit out of Coinner in TSW for being such an idiot (Enormis was in stocks), and it was just us. The city official was controlled by a GM, and suddenly 15 people are there kissing ass. I had to leave because it was so ridiculous, eventually went back and just stole from everyone. I then nominated myself for great roleplaying by not begging for an RPA by laughing at everything the GM said. I also nominated Aone for doing a good job of stealing from people there.

I go to the gemshop and Shylia is there. She tells me to return Spook's weapon (I had returned it several hours prior) and I basically told her to fuck off. I was not in teh mood, so I groin kicked her and whenever she said anything, did something else. AND THEN:

You take a deep breath, and look around with renewed vigor. It is good to be alive, and an adventurer in this land.

Then a GM decided to take control of the gem dealer and talk about how I need to stop attacking everyone, heh. But I love my RPA.

There was indeed provocation. Bitching at someone for stealing a weapon (which they gave back, for free, several hours ago) is retarded. Sticking around and insulting them after they've shown they don't mind hurting you is even more so. Being an annoying retard who can't think of insults beyond 'You're a big woman now' and 'Wench' puts you slightly above Vif, Warclaidhm, Haashek, et al.

The RPA was probably from earlier, not when he was groin kicking her at the gemshop. GMs have said they've awarded RPAs days or even weeks after they noted the situation they felt worthy of one. I know I've received them while sitting alone at a table, so I'm sure those were from prior exploits, not sitting around listening to the amunet.

It seems like every posts I've seen with these new combat maneuvers they can stun or even kill people.. Not that I ever got into a fight, but I would rather be killed by an edged weapon.. slash me to death, blast me to smithereens with your spells.. bash me with your blunts.. but It would be so humiliating to be killed by those maneuvers.

If I were trying to kill a pure, I'd feint you into crazy RT, then hamstring with a feras weapon. Dodge, age, and a few spells (mobility, blurs, song of mirrors, what have you) help defend against them.

So do knowing the CMAN skill that the person is trying to use against you. That and armor class are a big help in defending against CMAN skills.

Edaarin used to kick Falgrin in the nuts.. and being 15 levels over poor innocent Falgrin made it real easy.

Falgrin learned that skill as well now.. and Edaarin needs to roll higher than a 95 to get him.

Also, I have a decently crit padded double leather.. does crit padding help? So far I haven't really been noticing the difference when I get stunned.

Yes.. don't be encumbered and it helps.

No.. crit padding doesn't help.. it's all about armor class, not specific armor qualities.

There's a few ways to kill a pure who can generate more DS than you'll ever see. Just about any combat maneuver that makes contact + a feras weapon. Or bearhug, if you're a warrior. I guess you could groin kick them to death as a rogue. What a way to go.
