This post is edited to take out a whole lot of crud

(took out mad amounts of people kissing merchant butt to get alters)

Katrianne taps Burzmalli lightly on his shoulder.
>
Burzmalli says, "katrianne, i told you not to cast at me anymore...i demand you appologize to me now"
>
Katrianne says, "want to step outside Burz"
>
Burzmalli smiles at Katrianne.
>
Burzmalli says, "appologize now i said"
>
Burzmalli says, "then you leave me no choice, you brought this on yourself"
>
Burzmalli looks determined and focused.
In an awe inspiring display of combat mastery, Burzmalli engages Katrianne in a furious dance macabre, spiralling into a blur of strikes and ripostes!
Burzmalli swings a twohanded sword at Katrianne!
AS: +196 vs DS: +256 with AvD: +41 + d100 roll: +47 = +28
A clean miss.
Not even close.
Burzmalli swings a twohanded sword at Katrianne!
AS: +196 vs DS: +256 with AvD: +41 + d100 roll: +69 = +50
A clean miss.

Snook says, "Katrianne..can I borrow your critter wand? Sayrena threatening me.."
>
Burzmalli exclaims, "die!"
>
Katrianne asks, "want to step outside?"
>
Burzmalli went through a bright yellow door.
>
(Maybe she was kidding, because she didn't go out to)

You see Katrianne Le'elf the Dark Elf Sorceress.
She appears to be in her 120's, has very long golden blond hair, blue eyes, and fair skin.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing a small rose, some black dancing slippers, an ebony dancing skirt, a blackened spidersilk longcoat, and a silver-trimmed backpack crafted of fine spidersilk.
>

(Few minutes later, burz obviously tired of waiting outside for his challanger...)

Burzmalli fades into view.
Burzmalli looks determined and focused.
In an awe inspiring display of combat mastery, Burzmalli engages Katrianne in a furious dance macabre, spiralling into a blur of strikes and ripostes!
Burzmalli swings a twohanded sword at Katrianne!
AS: +281 vs DS: +256 with AvD: +41 + d100 roll: +51 = +117
... and hits for 21 points of damage!
Downward slash across Katrianne's left thigh!
Gouges bone!
She is stunned!
Burzmalli swings a twohanded sword at Katrianne!
AS: +281 vs DS: +236 with AvD: +41 + d100 roll: +37 = +123
... and hits for 39 points of damage!
Crossing slash to chest catches Katrianne's attention!

(burz gets dragged to TSC, Raised, and then ambushed and killed while still stunned by guess who? Katrianne!)

(so burz comes back for a little revenge (he still hasn't stepped outside of the RP'ing))

OK so explain this to me...

A RPing player, kills a merchant.

Some uninvolved fools kill RPing Player (maybe so they get an alter? dono)

Merchant turns to GM Self, Pulls player, and "consults them"

Then, Gm turns to Merchant, hunts down and kills RPing Player.

RPing player goes and kills Merchant.

How the "Sh#@" should have gone down:

GM has 2 options...

1: Play out conflict as a Merchant / Player in the game, as a conflict and in turn kill burz back (not a prob, RP it)

2: Turn to GM, Pull player and "consult" them.

Those really seem to be the only 2 options I see within the GM guidelines.

Anyays, I think Kat should have been fired, the 2 fools should have been hit for Non-Consentual PVP, and Burz should have gotten an RP award.

Anyways, my 2 cents.

What do you think?

I think she should've given herself a higher DS.

Also, Burz was being disruptive. Unless, of course, you don't think that killing a merchant (was she doing work?) is disruptive...

Kat got what she deserved and Perigourd is an idiot.

I concur about Perigourd being an idiot. I hate people who jump waist deep into conflict they're not part of, and well... when they're morons in general.

"Also, Burz was being disruptive. Unless, of course, you don't think that killing a merchant (was she doing work?) is disruptive... "

Last I checked, "disrubtive" wasn't an excuse to kill someone.

Also, no matter how many people hated burz, not a single one was better at RPing

Burz is the only character I have ever met in gemstone who was always 100% in character, I knew him and interacted with him with atleast 3 of my characters on an almost daily basis, and i never heard anything even remotly OOC come from him.

Im not trying to say that everyone else is bad at RP, but i know you whisper to your friends ECT... but ya.

He was RPing a PVP conflict between 2 people, thats within policy. Others jumping in is agains policy.

Agreed. Burz was always a great roleplayer. He roleplayed one of the biggest assholes I ever seen in GS and did a damn good job of it. I'm with ya Varsus.

Katrianne turned him into a kobold or a frog or something, burzmalli is a dwarf, burz doesnt like magic.. burz killed her, that isn't disruptive

and yeah, I never saw burz go OOC either, and he always seemed to do the funniest shit, ie killing those butterflies with mstrike and having the butterflies come back and attack him rofl

Burz was a riot and think other people listed were in the wrong. He had IC reasons, stayed IC with the warning, and was IC with his actions.

Somewhat a moot point since he's banned or locked out. But I definitely think there is nothing wrong with what he did. Just because some character is played by a GM does not mean that they are more high and mighty than any other PC in the game. Everything could have easily been remedied had she just said no thanks, I'm sorry I cast a spell at you and raise her DS by 1000 and forget about him.

The GM should have yelled at Washee for abuse of guild skills and Perigourd for unconsented PvP.

I saw Burz go OOC plenty of times. He did stay in-character for the most part, but he certainly wasn't some paragon of roleplaying.

And for someone who didn't like magic, he sure didn't have a problem with using call wind amulets to kill NPC's.

The whole situation was retarded. And I believe the only reason Burzmalli can stay IC so well is because he acts like a 12 year old (and is more than likely played by one).

I don't know Burzmalli, this is the first time I see his name mentioned. I understand part of the log is missing but I see no great RP in "she cast at me! die!" and swinging away. Pretty weak in my opinion.

Well...burz did like to cause trouble (though he is one of the last warriors I ever respected) but Merchants are not Gods. It pisses me off they all ordain themselves above the players. They should be RPed as characters with no skill in combat what-so-ever (unless their character history demands it).

He's a dwarf, dwarves strongly dislike magic, she turned him into a kobold, he killed her

Sounds like an immature player looking for a cop-out to attack whenever possible. Pretty pathetic.

Perigourd = major GM ass kisser

Washee = Augie's brother or whatever, 'nuff said.

And yeah if that whole thing went down the way you say it did (I think I remember Burz telling me about it in IMs too not long after), then yeah that's pretty fucked up and whoever's behind Katrianne should be raped with a titanium cactus dildo.

Burzmalli = Andromatis.

judging by the age i would assume that it was closer to a year+ ago. I dont remember exactly when they changed it but i know its been awhile. Seems like it anyway.

Heh, I had no problem with Perigourd. Before he decided to talk shit about my rogue behind his back. I fucking hate that, I'm sitting in the same room as him in EN (on the dais) and he's standing there whispering and IM'ing my friend about what an ass I am. And it was based on something he overheard me telling someone else, I've never said two words to Perigourd.

Yeah Augie and Washee are married in RL as well. You can find a link to this heresy in her IM profile (LadyAugie1).

Don't let that distract you from wanting to rip the skin off Perigourd's face with a spoon though. People like him are the #1 reason why there are so many lesbians in the world today.

Why did I have to stumble into this folder?

Interesting this thread was bumped.

Burz was an idiot and I would hardly call his chosen RP with a merchant "in character".

He did crap like this all the time and it wasn't for RP and he never stayed in character. It was disruptive and it was just him being a typical jackass.

The character suddenly didn't like magic whenever it provided an opportunity to whore attention from a merchant or just be a disruptive jackass.

Methais
12-27-2003, 07:23 AM
Actually he didn't like magic anyway. I remember casting strength on him once and he made me dispel it right after, and there was nobody around but me and him. He never hunted with spells on, and refused them when offered.

AkMan
12-27-2003, 04:12 PM
Yep Methais. He'd never let my ranger spell him up either. Burz was a good friend of mine (OUT OF GAME - in game he was an asshole) but he got exactly what he wanted....attention.

And guess what.......he's still getting it. Mission accomplished.

it was always amusing to spell him and watch him get irked and run to figs and wait for one of them to dispell him.

I found nothing wrong with Burz's interactions with Katrianne. I thought they were funny. Now, his interaction with Weaslie? That was something else all together... and pretty logical that he got in trouble for it. Still? Eh, I miss him. He livened up things.

There is sometimes a fine line between customer service and keeping order with snerts.

I don't envy that GMs lack of options at all.

I would have probably just let it go. Sometimes its not worth the hassle, and after all, its just a game.
