Norwegian mass killer Anders Behring Breivik is due to serve his 21-year sentence in Ila prison near the capital, Oslo.

Breivik, 33, has already been kept at Ila for more than a year under its Regime of Particularly High Security, which is the country's strictest regime for prisoners.

The prison said in a statement (http://www.ilafengsel.no/Press/PRESS_RELEASE_22_AUGUST_2012.pdf) before Friday's verdict that Breivik would initially be kept isolated from casual contact with other prisoners.

He currently has three cells, in "compensation" for being denied access to activities available to other inmates, prison spokeswoman Ellen Bjercke explained.

Breivik's exercise cell is seen here

Each cell measures 8 sq m (86 sq ft). One is a bedroom, one contains fitness equipment and the third is a study with a laptop fixed to a desk.

The computer is not connected to the internet, in order to prevent communication with the outside world.
He is unlikely ever to have free access to the internet, Ms Bjercke told the BBC News website.

Even if he eventually qualifies for educational activities, he will only be allowed to use a special server run by the prison "with a lot of filters", she explained.

Plus three square meals a day?

For murdering over 70 innocent people?

Really, Norway? Really?

Just over three months to serve for each murder he committed, too. Such cruel and unusual punishment, it may well jeopardize his rehabilitation.

He won't be getting out of prison in 21 years, so don't worry. Although Norway has a cap of 21 years for sentencing, individuals that are considered to still be a danger to society can be kept locked away, indefinitely. And since he has been quoted saying something along the lines of he would do it again, I will place a substantial wager that he won't be released alive.

Fuck, they should be more like 'Murica. I mean 21 years is appropriate for video taping police. They should allow private prisons to lobby for stricter sentencing and and implement a system in which the recidivism rate is approaching 50%. I mean shit, they clearly have it wrong.

Applies in here in the U.S. too, unfortunately.
