Arguements, immaturity, lies, rumours, backstabbing.

Does ignoring it works for you? What is the best course of action?

Blocking works in some cases.

Ignoring is usually best. Most folks who treat others so poorly do it for a power rush that they can't get IRL. So take away the reward.

Shut down, walk away, exercise or take a long walk or read an awesome novel.

I'm a huge fan of long walks, personally ;)

Just take pride in knowing someone is obsessing so much over you that they must insert themselves into your life in any way possible.

Take a larger pride in knowing that they are actually insignificant and you have better, more interesting things to do.

Be shallow and use logic to get me through situations vice emotions. You can only get hurt if you let yourself.

Sometimes ignoring a rumour gives the impression that it's true.

At least to the idiotic.

Just state that it is not and don't worry about it. Anyone who is neutral will usually believe you, and the ones who don't believe you won't change their mind no matter how hard you try and convince them.

Uninstall works too:)

Ignoring a rumor is the best you can do, otherwise you open other doors.

And if you're somewhat intelligent/manipulator, you can easily turn the rumor to your advantage.

Actually when you fight it, it comes off as the rumor being true because it bothers you enough to feel the need to defend it. You wouldn't try to act so innocent unless you were guilty.

When you ignore it you're leaving the decision in their hands. If you're indifferent, then they can figure you just don't care what they say and isn't important enough to respond to.

That may be the case Shalla. In the same sense if you find yourself addressing a rumor that was created by the person in question over and over again with that person ignoring them would be your best option. If it's your attention they are after, as long as you keep giving it to them, they win.

I don't know what you mean't with uninstall.

Also, I'm not saying I'm a genuis but I do rely on my own wisdom.. I'm not so much of a manipulator, but I do try to weigh out what is right or wrong.

Yeah, that's what I've been doing lately.. and it does work somewhat.. once in awhile, it sneaks up on you when you're not even expecting it. I guess it's one of those things that won't really go away. So it's up to me, to grow out of it and not be affected.

No no, it's not so much about that.. the initial post is more about what I Can do to not let it bother me.. and not what I can do to change someone else. Like Tsa'ah said, there is nothing much I can do about it.. so I'm finding a way to not let it get to me.
