View Full Version : So I got this thing, what's it worth?
AnticorRifling

I want a place to ask what's this worth without having multiple threads about it (as we do now) If you have an item and you want opinions as to the current market value post them here. I'm going to see about getting this stuck to the top of the Merchants folder so that down the line people can still use/reference it without having to dig.
Don't use this thread as a forum to sell things, look for items to purchase, etc. Make your own thread for that. Use this one to get price quotes.
Thanks.

a dark runic Ardenai warblade
Show:Finely crafted long ago, this aged but mighty blade is a masterpiece among weapons. The blade is etched with flowing Ardenai runes and the metal gleams in hues of forest green and gold. Inset into the pommel of the blade is a green dreamstone marked with the royal crest of House Ardenai crossed by a silver-edged black longsword. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.
6x longsword with lightning flares and 10 scripts.
weighs 7 lbs, 89/225 breakage
Scripts:
The blade of Izalude's runic Ardenai warblade slices cleanly through the air as he brings it around in a sweeping arc.
Izalude taps the blade of his runic Ardenai warblade against the ground.
Izalude holds his runic Ardenai warblade menacingly out in front of him, its sharp edge glinting.
Izalude pulls his runic Ardenai warblade close in to his body, its keen edge pointing outward.
Izalude hefts his runic Ardenai warblade a few times, admiring its workmanship.
Izalude carefully buffs the blade of his runic Ardenai warblade.
Izalude raises his runic Ardenai warblade in a gesture of triumph!
Izalude sets the blade of his warblade into the ground and stands confidently behind it.
Looking calm and confident, Izalude tightens his grip on his runic Ardenai warblade.
As Izalude tilts his runic Ardenai warblade from side to side, reflected light dances across its keen-edged blade.

Ok what I have I'm not really sure how to describe. It's one of those items from a while ago that you can make into any article of clothing and any style and create basically endless different things of. Anyone have any idea how to properly describe it but more importantly, what it's worth?

Two items in question:
Some long grey wizard robes that seem to collect the shadows within its folds. 8x robes.
An ornate golvern shield 7x 69/264 (Don't remember weight but it's fairly normal for shields if I recall and it's in my landing locker and I'm in EN)
Show on shield:
This magnificent hand-cut, forge-pounded golvern shield is tempered to full combat strength. The shield is edged with a band of gold, lightly etched with small diamond shapes, each point sitting atop the next. At the shield's center is an embossed bronze dragon inlay. The dragon is standing on its hind legs stretching its head upwards releasing a roaring burst of flames from its mouth. Thick tanned leather arm straps are securely attached to the shield with heavy steel rivets. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.

Has an interesting action when you touch it, nice spider show and a long loresong.. believe it was from an Ebon Fest last year or the year before but can't be certain. I'm trying to obtain some history on it and its possible worth.

Okay a few questions.
I have a 4x heavily crit weighted waraxe *i think its a altered fel-hafter* *it was given to me*
and a old style mithril claid any idea what these items go for?
Stunseed
09-15-2004, 01:49 AM
Depending on the alter, Fel-Hafters sell for 4.5-6 million.
Mithril Claids used to sell much higher, but now-days I'd imagine 1.5-2.5 million if altered nicely.
If you are interested in selling for the price Stunseed said... let me know.

LilHellcat, what's the exact description on your brig? I have some glaes brig but it's breakage is different, but as far as I know it's just plain off the shelf brig that's been padded.
>rem armor
You work your way out of some glaes brigandine armor.
>asses armor
You assess the armor for structural weaknesses and strengths.
Careful examination indicates the brigandine armor has a base strength of 44 and a base durability of 504. You also determine the current integrity of the brigandine armor to be at 100.0%.
>weigh armor
You carefully examine the brigandine armor and determine that the weight is about 32 pounds.
Roundtime: 5 sec.
You heft the armor a few times, but learn nothing more about it.

So anyway I found this thing hunting in Mule. A bronze-tipped drake Hammer of Kai. Odd thing is it has an enchanters mark. a sighted dwarven yew crossbow.
You see a sighted dwarven yew crossbow which is cocked and loaded with a heavy crossbow bolt.
This beautiful weapon is carved from the finest yew. Its polished and sanded sheen shows the great care the owner possesses for it. Strips of glaes with reinforced grooves are deeply set into the wood, solidifying the remarkable craftsmanship. Softened kidskin leather is wrapped tightly around the grip while set into the base is a trio of large dragonfire rubies each marked with the sigil of a dwarven assassin. You also notice a small enchanter's mark.

just gonna throw this out there, i got a blackened warlords cloak: Crafted from sturdy leather that has been blackened from day-to-day wear, this cloak appears to be in remarkable shape considering the discoloring. Thick hides have been expertly sewn together to form a strong, durable cloak. Between the leather outer layer and the inner brocade, thick woolen padding has been applied to protect the wearer from the elements. Clasped the cloak at the neck is a small ruby scimitar. was wonderin on what the value is, closes, holds very large amt

An altered consolation cloak : an ethereal Nalfein elven cloak
The long, billowing folds of the dusk-hued sable cloak are meant to embrace the wearer and obscure every detail in a shroud of umbral darkness. Thin almost to the point of evanescence, it affords the wearer a quiet aura of nobility and fragile grace while veins of elusive black spidersilk intertwine with the supple fabric for additional resilience. Ceremonial Nalfein sigils embroidered in golden spidersilk march across the hem of the high collar.
>tap my cloa
You pat at the folds of your Nalfein elven cloak, absentmindedly looking for something.
>pull my cloa
You pull the hood of the cloak over your head.
>push my cloa
You push the hood of the cloak back off your head.
>close my cloa
You wrap your Nalfein elven cloak tightly around yourself to keep out the cold.
>open my cloa
You throw back the edge of your Nalfein elven cloak over your shoulder.
>glance my cloa
You mutter about too much junk as you search through your Nalfein elven cloak.
>eat my cloa
You grab the edge of your Nalfein elven cloak and nervously chew on it.
>pinch my cloa
You find a loose thread on your Nalfein elven cloak and snap it off with a quick jerk.
>cover my cloa
With a stern look you pull your Nalfein elven cloak close and cross your arms, making it obvious you wish to be left alone.
>shriek my cloa
You look around in your Nalfein elven cloak, and suddenly shriek in horror!
>bow my cloa
Holding the edge of your Nalfein elven cloak, you give a deep bow with a flourish.
>touch my cloa
You lovingly stroke your Nalfein elven cloak, admiring the craftsmanship.
Weighs less than 2, holds large.

What do 5x, feature concealing, altered robes go for? Has all of Xojium's scripts added to them.
What does a 2x a day, no MIU required, 8-unique 920 "indoor" summons go for?
What's an ash mattock go for at most?
What does Halfling chain (altered) lightened twice to 18lbs go for?
A VLA, altered pin-worn coat, lockable w/ key..?

GSauctionplace had an 8x pinworn for 110. add 2 enchants to increase the value and make it cloakworn to decrease the value. comes out nearly the same maybe slightly less if you consider the value of 8x-10x less than the value of cloakworn to pinworn.
Mine weighs the same as the pinworn though, 2 pounds, and I've gotten an offer of 80 that I'm going to take unless I get something higher very soon.

I have a sephwir harp that was a raffle item at Ebon's Gate '03. It has a show (it's nice, but I can't post it now) and gives +10 to the bard's TWO prime stats, while playing it. The merchant said that will eventually wear off, but most likely not for a long time. It was implied (for that that's worth) that it would outlast the gift box stat enhancers.
Thoughts ?

The stat increase is pointless as most people can't play an instrument while in combat. However, people often pay lots for unique raffle instruments.

Item: a heavy leather coin bag clasped with a gold bank seal
Stats: Was one of the salt-stained leather plunder bags. 3lbs, belt worn, holds a large amount.
Item: a suit of claw-marked leathers
Show: The leather armor is adorned with an elegant set of burnished leather pauldrons. Emblazoned into the left pauldron is the crest of house Shina'm. The right pauldron is expertly tooled with a stylized image of a fierce white tiger ready to strike. This suit of dark leather armor is marred by dozens of slender claw marks.
Stats: Its a suit of that siren scale leathers. 5x, crit padded.
Misc: Also has had the pauldron scripts to it.
I'd appreciate any thoughts on value for the spectacles...thank you in advance!

>> turn spec
You carefully wind the small turnkey on your oval-shaped spectacles.
>> push spec
You push the small silver button on the side of your oval-shaped spectacles. With a soft click, the two tiny doors on the small box at the center of your spectacles open. A pair of miniature mechanical arms pop out, each ending in a stylized hand holding a small cloth. Each hand begins to rub the cloth on the surface of a lens, wiping away the dust and smudges. The tiny arms then fold back up, retreating within the confines of the box. The doors close with a soft click.

a web-draped crimson spidersilk cloak edged with black velvet trim
the fabric of the cloak is liberally draped with cobwebs and trailing bits of tattered spidersilk. Insect legs, wings, and carapaces are hung throughout the webs, grisly remnants of a spider's last meal. The cloak is clasped at the neck with a raven black spider-shaped clasp.

i'd say 18-20 on the waraxe, closer to the 20 side, since it has flares, and the skull, very handy for a rogue in the guild
the warsword, i'd say at least 30-35mil. possibly higher, saw a few 7x blessable's i think, longsword and one other, for like 25mil price tag.

I really don't want to sell this, but the practical person inside me wanted to have it appraised, and...I dunno. I won this a while ago, there was a pavis raffled off for each profession. I won the Sorcerers. Its been a while, has a coupla action thins to it. Raising casts 310 by drawing on your mana. When the other pavises are around you can cast their spells with your pavis. Any ideas how much its worth? Urglaes pavis, 5x I think.
Magically bound within the constraints of the black ora edging, the dark metal is shaped into an oblong octagonal shape. Composed entirely of untempered crude ore, the surface of the ebony-flecked urglaes pavis appears jagged with hollowed crystal veins branching throughout. The interior surface bears the same rugged contour as the outer, offering no safeguard to the wearer. The cold iron handle has no wrappings for comfort and is set so low to the inner surface the owner must take care not to scrape the backside of their hand when donning the urglaes pavis. Etched onto the inner surface of the binding black ora appear eight cryptic runes.
You also notice a small enchanter's mark.

Okaaaaay. I've got a suit of siren leathers. 5x, some crit padding, reinforced leather base.
I checked the player shops and the boards but I haven't seen a set of this junk for sale in AGES.
They used to be all over the damn place! Where the heck are they all?
What should I sell mine for?!

Okay, I've got a beltworn sack that holds the contents weightless when it's closed (holds ~85lbs). It can hold boxes as well.
I've been told 50M, and I've been told 80M...should I assume something in the middle? What about dollar-wise?
Also, I've got a few sets of x4 and x5 lightened hauberk in my locker that're somewhat crit padded. Since someone mentioned the influx of paladins...what would those be worth?
StrayRogue
04-11-2005, 01:02 PM
I wouldn't say the prices on those hauberks would have gone up much. Still worth around the 1 mil mark.
I'd give you 60 mil for the sack. 85 just is too poor.

They're somewhat crit padded and weigh 18-22lbs a piece...I know they're worth well over 1M each.

Ah didn't notice the crit weighting. I had a big stash of the bright elven ones that weighed the same and were 6x. However, I doub't you'll sell more now simply because of paladins. I'd imagine most will be aiming for plate.

Anyone know what some Polished Silver Studded Leather is worth?
It's 4x very heavily crit padded rigid leather...torso, arms and legs.
It's 45/285 and weighs about 20lb.

Have had this for awhile, and my rogue still continues to use it. I am still considering selling it or trading it for another weapon, especially cause I don't really need to rely on the sanctified aspect of this blade.
Not sure what the current value is, due to 1625's release
6x, flaring, sanctified falchion, has the anfelt zests
a razern-edged void black warblade, +30, flares acid and is sanctified.
acid flares up to 70, and flares frequently.
You carefully examine the void black warblade and determine that the weight is about 5 pounds.
75/160 forging
The warblade is etched with twisted and chaotic runes along both edges, the meaning obscured by the decorative turns given to the symbols. The blade has been so keenly honed it is doubtless that the edge could slice through even the thinnest parchment with ease. You also notice a small enchanter's glyph.

xxx shows you a maze-grained dusky ipantor longbow, which she is holding in her left hand. Buffed to a dull gleam, the ipantor of the bow has been shaped into a graceful recurve. However, the most outstanding feature of the bow has been highlighted by an artist of consummate skill. Sooty black graining has been limned with the thinnest traces of silver to illuminate the maze-like patterns it forms along the length of the bow. Tiny lines of wood-grain chase each other through increasingly complicated spirals, knots and loops, never crossing but always branching into a more complex pattern. You also notice a small enchanter's glyph.
3x, rare sighted wood.

Here's an article on Ipantor wood.
Long a favorite of bowers throughout both sylvan and human territories, the ipantor tree is usually found in upland forests that occupying the foot of mountain ranges. It does not tolerate hot, arid climates, instead preferring a rich, loamy soil. The Western DragonSpires is the principal region where ipantor wood is harvested, and the tall, slender trees with their straight boughs and yellow-green leaves add grace and stature to the hardwood forests there. While the ipantor is a superior material for bows, something in the constituency of its inherent magic makes it unsuitable for other magical articles. +17 to offense and defense

Any ideas on the dice that Darynth sold on the WD?
With the dice that he personally altered, he made them changeable from 6, 10, 12 and 20 sides when rubbed, you can grip them to go from 2 dice to 1 die and you can whisper to them to tell them which number(s) to roll.
>grip my dice
You grip one of your wrought iron dice between your palm and little finger, satisfied that only one die will be rolled when you toss them.
>grip my dice
You release your grip on the second of your wrought iron dice. Both are now ready to toss.
>whisper dice 2 2
You bring your wrought iron dice up to your lips and, pretending to blow on them for good luck, quietly whisper the numbers 2 and 2. The faceted crystalline pips pulse once with a pale silvery glow and you feel the weights within your dice shift subtley.
What others see:
Aerthia brings her wrought iron dice up to her lips and blows on them for good luck.
>roll dice
You lean forward and roll your wrought iron dice on the ground.
The dice bounce a few times and come to a rest on 2 and 2.
You quickly retrieve the wrought iron dice.
>rub dice
You gently rub the tips of your fingers along the edges of your wrought iron dice. The faceted crystalline pips pulse once with a pale silvery glow and you feel the dice begin to shift. When they stop shifting, you notice that they now have 6 sides instead of 20.
(I left out the other side changes, looks exactly the same.)
shake my dice
You give your wrought iron dice a shake for good luck. You feel the weights bounce around inside.
Aerthia gives her wrought iron dice a shake for good luck.

The hilt of the falchion has been fashioned out of aquamarine while a polished grey pearl serves as the pommel. Ok, I found a delicate ruby glaes hummingbird. It is mechanical and heavily scripted. Don't remember where I got it or how old it is. you and turn it to wind it up, then push it and it will sing a song. Rub it and it coos, lots of other stuff. Any idea on value?
*edit* figure I'll give alittle more info:
s>tap humm
You idly tap the beak of your ruby glaes hummingbird. The ruby glaes hummingbird shuffles uncomfortably, as if just awakened. It leans from foot to foot a moment before arching its neck and letting forth a beautiful trill.
s>rub hum
You gently stroke the back of your ruby glaes hummingbird. The creature coos softly and stretches out its wings under your caress.
s>pull hum
You foolishly pull on the beak of your ruby glaes hummingbird. In response, it lets out an earshattering screech that causes you to flinch, fortunately allowing you to avoid its sharp beak trying to snap at you.
s>turn hum
You slowly wind the ruby glaes hummingbird's crank, feeling the spring tighten and the clicking of tiny gears as the hummingbird's beak opens and closes.
s>push hum
You push back the latch holding the crank in place on your ruby glaes hummingbird and the mechanical sound of clicking gears can be heard. Suddenly, the hummingbird seems to come to life as it flaps its wings in rhythmic motion and begins to sing a hauntingly beautiful melody.
(pretty long song follows)
s>smooch hummingbird
You turn and smooch the ruby glaes hummingbird perched on your shoulder lovingly. The ruby glaes hummingbird seems to brighten at this and leads into a tender lovesong. Gentle, lilting notes fill the air as the ruby glaes hummingbird serenades you.
s>prod hummingbird
The ruby glaes hummingbird lets out a low, sharp whistle while flapping its wings at you in agitation. Its angry twitter continues for a few moments while it attempts to settle down. Perhaps you should be nicer to your ruby glaes hummingbird in the future?

"a veniom-hafted silvery rolaren waraxe" 3 pounds, 6x, lightning flares and scripts added by merchants at Anfelt, I think?
>wave my wara
The blade of your silvery rolaren waraxe slices cleanly through the air as you bring it around in a sweeping arc.
>lean my wara
You set the end of your waraxe's blade into the floor and stand confidently behind it.
>tap my wara
You tap the blade of your silvery rolaren waraxe against the floor.
>pull my wara
You pull your silvery rolaren waraxe in close to your body, its keen edge pointing outward.
>push my wara
You hold your silvery rolaren waraxe menacingly in front of you, its sharp edge glinting.
I'm sure there are more, those are the ones I remember.
After a careful inspection you determine that a veniom-hafted silvery rolaren waraxe requires skill in edged weapons to use effectively. It appears to be a modified handaxe.
Roundtime: 5 sec.
You assess the waraxe for structural weaknesses and strengths.
Careful examination indicates the silvery rolaren waraxe has a base strength of 90 and a base durability of 225. You also determine the current integrity of the silvery rolaren waraxe to be at 100.0%.
Clues on value? I bought it years ago without the flares and scripts for like 2 mil. Can't use it now, closing my account again anyhow, figured I'd sell it, but I'd like to know ballpark what to ask.

The pretty shaps as you put it are good for defining what spells you put in gems or which ones are your rechargers or orbs. It's a good way for a wizard or bard (or any profession for that matter) to keep track of what gem is what without singing/405ing them all the time.

Lvl 19 elf empath built for skinning and selling.
Whats the worth on those two chars? Plus I'll be going through my lockers for gear I don't use so I'll be blowing this thread up.

Bump plus price check on a lvl 66 giantman wizard with and without gear.
With gear the key items would be a black ora pike, a 6x blessable naginata, a 4x vhcp leather breastplate, and a decent outfit.
You're selling Anticor?

If/When you sell Anticor, give me a chance to purchase him, so I can hold him til you want him back.

Do everyone a favour and don't sell Anticor. The chances are the same will happen with the likes of Pudgee or Thalior or some other cool guy that sold out to a douche like Sean or Solescape or various other retards.
