My buddy has a bow with some enhancive properties on it. It is currently +16, and I will be taking it to +21, therefore making it a major project. My skills are perfectly good enough to be able to enchant this item.
Aura (AUR): 100 (20) ... 100 (20)
Logic (LOG): 100 (30) ... 100 (30)
Intuition (INT): 100 (35) ... 100 (35)
Wisdom (WIS): 100 (25) ... 100 (25)
Magic Item Use.....................| 302 202
Despite this, when I tried to pre-temper the item with the ayvenaeh potion this happened:
You pour your potion on the bow.
The liquid bubbles slightly as it touches the surface of the green carmiln bow, but then merely evaporates without effect.
That was the last drop.
The ayveneh potion shatters into twinkling dust.
Any ideas why this occurred?
Thanks!

Looks like the messaging that occurs when you already have a major enchant in progress.

If that isn't the case, try checking the bow for any other special properties; flaring, sighting, blessed, etc.

I did just de-temper another project and received the message that the item was de-tempered successfully.

I previously enchanted this item, so I know that is not the case. I will check the item that I recently de-tempered again.

I didn't realize that de-tempering took some time, as I have never done it before? How long does this process usually take?

De-tempering is kinda a messy process. I've had issues where it got stuck after a week or something. I'm not sure if that is normal.

If you had any failures during the enchanting process, detempering time can stack up. When I was doing enhancive enchanting testing and failing a lot, my detemper time would have been weeks if a GM hadn't fixed me.
