So my friend has some older autographed pucks, they appear to be from 1993. One is signed by Mark Messier for instance. He has two pucks where the signer is unknown.

I think one is Chris Chelios, the other one I don't have a clue right now. Here's a scan of the pucks:

Ok I have a guess for the second puck now but I won't say it if someone else wants to come up with one.

If thats a #89 then I'd guess Mogilny

I dunno, Messier played on the Rangers, Mogilny on the Sabres, and Chelios on the Blackhawks that year. There aren't many other famous 89s though.

If it is a 93 Mogilny, though, fuck, that's the season he scored his career high 76 goals with the Sabres. I'd love that puck.

Plus, if it was a Mogilny, it'd have a hanging part in the middle of the name, not the beginning and end. The first letter looks like a J, with an a nearby....not Jagr, though.

This is a good reference of Mogilny's autograph: http://images.checkoutmycards.com/original/ad52de5d-f277-4ec3-8a46-4aa91bbce69b.jpg

That actually looks a lot like it, on second glance. No hanging G in the middle, two long strokes on either end.

Also check out the number 8. They are both written up as an "S" with a slash connecting either end. Not too common, I would think.

Also, that's definitely a Chelios puck if this is any indication. What did your friend do, get a bunch of pucks signed at the All Star game? Those look like commemorative pucks, although the Mogilny puck looks rather worn. Maybe it was played in the all star game?

nvm, it's a 100 year anniversary Stanley Cup puck....wtf. Seeing as the Cup was between the Canadiens and the Kings that year, it's kind of a bizarre collection. Unless they were used throughout the playoffs too.

The bottom side says it's an official NHL game puck, my guess is that they were game played but I'm not certain. Also Mogilny was my guess for the 2nd puck. I'm pretty sure it's him. I'm going to talk to Rick and see if he has a friend who is an expert in 1993 NHL game pucks.
