I heard that getting 5 ranks (Mastering it) will help one better in not getting disarmed, been searching in Krakiipedia & other sites but can't really find any information on it. Can anyone assists?

1) Mastering 5 ranks in CM DISARM, does it provide any aid in me not getting disarmed by a critter?
2) If so, how much does it help? compare with 0 training in CM DISARM

3) Any recommendation on CM skills for a rogue? Please see below on my current CM Skills with 30 points still available

Skill name Mnemonic Ranks
Combat Focus focus 5
Shadow Mastery smastery 5
Disarm Weapon disarm 5
Specialization I wspec1 5
Cunning Defense cdefense 5
Vanish vanish 3

cman disarm absolutely helps against getting disarmed.

I had Gibreficul trained to 5 ranks for a while, and outside of open rolls, Ithzir Jans had no chance to disarm me. It was rather disappointing that (because of their higher level) the tritons in Nelemar still had a decent chance to disarm me outside of open rolls. Regardless, still a much better chance to avoid with disarm trained up than without it. (I don't have hard numbers to give ya)

As for what cmans are good for a rogue, you might want to consider dirtkick or feint... or both. I also see you don't have surge of strength, you might want to consider that. Might I also suggest 3 ranks of silent strike if for nothing else, so you can use subdue with a chance to stay hidden.

Me personally, I'm looking to spend 73 CM points myself... 3 ranks of focus, 5 ranks of smastery, 5 ranks of garrote, 3 ranks of silentstrike, 2 ranks of mobility, 5 ranks of surge currently.

thanks for the advise once again, yeah the tritons disarm me like crazy, perhaps at 90 i'm still too young to hunt there, several times they took my weapon, i'll max the disarm then read more & look into other cman skills which you suggest :)

Personally, I'd drop weapon specialization and would only splash a couple of ranks in combat focus and cunning defense. My picks would be combat mobility and dirtkick and maybe surge.

If you read the KP disarm article and the cunning defense article, everything there is to be said about defense is said. Where is it that you were looking?

thanks for the advise DaCapn...

I've previously went to Krakiipedia & did a search on disarm manuevers & all it came up was :

But I just did a search 5 min ago & it came out good & with some good info, perhaps i did a typo previously...

This is what you were looking at:

Disarm
From Krakiipedia, the unofficial free GemStone IV encyclopedia.

Disarm (408)
Disarming Traps
Disarm Weapon
DISARM (verb)

That's the entire article. If you're having trouble finding the link to the "disarm weapon" article in that wall of text, Ctrl+F will allow you to search through it a lot quicker.

Each rank of cman disarm will give you a +15 bonus. So, the difference between not having it and having it is 75.

If you are looking for the most disarm protection possible you want in this order, 5 ranks disarm(75 bonus), 5 ranks cunning defense(15 bonus), and 5 ranks wspec(10 bonus), for a total of 100 bonus. If you are an archer, try walking around with an arrow in your hand, it will be disarmed first.
