I heart Beastie Boys, but I just got the latest issue of Spin...
Am I the only person that thinks they're a little old to have their particular 'look'?
Eh.

Beastie Boys are very, very good.
Intergalactic planetaries had sick fucking beat too. Beotches.
And I don't really think they're portraying a super hardcore image, I mean, they weren't rocking clocks and 3g chains back when fight for your right and brass monkey was hot. Their stye is unique. and mixmaster mike is a cool DJ.

Saw them at the Tibetan Freedom Concert in 98, they kicked ass at that time. it was right when Hello Nasty came out, but I haven't heard their new album.
I like that new song. :foshizzle:

I hate their song but they're not really my type of music. It seems like all their music is a bunch of boys whining, but that's just my opinion.
Whining?? THEY SPEAK THE TRUTH!
I never heard them complaining, but their voices are a little squeeky (whiteness)

I didn't mean the words, I meant their voices, as you just said. It's the voice itself that bugs the crap out of me and makes me turn the station whenever they're on.
I think fred durst "rapping" sounds much more annoying

I dig the Beastie Boys, though I think they are aging just a little and maybe should incorporate the fact that they're in their 40's into their look.
Brian said some funny stuff about them, Beth, you'll have to hear his imitation of BBoys at home.

P.S. Paul's Boutique will always be their best album.

I like Beastie Boys, it's just startling to realize how old they really are...

I listened to the Beastie Boys on a daily basis when I was younger. They should have just stayed in retirement, as they don't really have the type of image that can transcend generations like they are trying.
Stay in retirement?
I think the Godfather's of new school gain more notoriety as they continue to push releases in the onset of age.
You didn't see people bitching about how Jam Master Jay was passed his prime, and his death could have been easily avoided by going into early retirement.
With all the wack shit out there, I'm glad there are still those that stay true to the roots, no matter how much scrutiny they undergo.

I disagree with the previous portion of your post, but this I can agree with. Not many people can say that.
Pauls Boutique was one of the top 10 best records ever made. I can't stand that new song that's on MTV all the time... I haven't heard the rest of the new CD but I'm gonna assume it sucks equally or worse if the hit single is a flop (in my book).
They should focus on producing other emcees.

I agree with Leloo... I can't stand their voices. With the exception of Brass Monkey, it hurts my ears to hear their songs.
