Skyfall will be the 23rd Bond movie and it will soon be 50 years since the release of the first movie Dr. No. What is it about this franchise that gets people so excited about it?

Looking at the trailer, what's NOT to love?

I think men wish to be him and women wish to have him. Is it not a rather exciting, romantic and fascinating portrayal of a man? I should add painful and lonely, as well, even for all the people in his life. Assuming I wish to be accurate.

He does fit the byronic hero pretty well.
