Staples graphics card for motherboard

Need a graphics card to go with it - from Staples (have $100 gift card)

Are you just looking for the best graphics card you can get for $100 or are you trying to future proof yourself in case GS switches to a GUI?

If your budget for a gpu is $100 my recommendation is to wait until you can actually afford something nice.

I dont mind paying money; but I have $100 toward the card already from Staples; so I'm buying from staples, whatever I decide.

I'd go for a Geforce GTX 460 or 560TI. The former is about 175, the latter 250ish. EVGA makes a decent card, I'm just not sure if Staples carries it or not.

Except for some quadro cards, which you don't want, they don't offer EVGA.

There are 3 ways to shop for graphics cards:
1. Buy the most ridiculous setup you can with the goal of being able to run Crysis at 60 fps on 6 screens (good luck).
2. Buy a graphics card that allows you to play the specific game you are currently obsessed with at 60 fps.
3. Buy the best graphics card for the amount of money you are willing to spend. NVIDIA and AMD have done a great job of establishing price levels with similar products. You can read on any number of tech websites the specifics but if you don't know which card to buy, you probably won't know or appreciate the subtle differences between the cards. That being said, you should buy the newest and most expensive Radeon 7000 series or NVIDIA 500series that fits into your budget. For the most part, every additional $30-$50 you are willing to spend will net you a nicer video card. Draw a line in the sand and just pick one.

Your power supply however may be lacking to run the second one. 500 watts will probably be cutting it close depending on what else you have plugged in.
