So today I get home from work and I'm prepping for my trip. I decided to check out my camera and goof off for a bit and I can't get it to turn on. My 1st assumption is just oh well the batteries are dead so I go and buy new ones change them, still dead. So I get an AC adapter and plug it in, still wont turn on. So basically 1 day before I'm setting to leave on my trip I find out my $400 digital camera is friggin dead. Becuase theres no place I can locally get it repaired in time I was forced to goto best buy and spend $175 on a new camera, mainly because I wanted one that used the same xd memory sticks because I had a lot of them and they are expensive.

Anyone else have any stories about some just plain ol' shitty luck they've had recently?

I broke the ring and little finger on my right hand Tuesday. I realized when I was closing my car door that I had left the keys inside so I went to grab it and surprise, surprise, smooshed my fingers. Of course, my doctors office was closed so I spent THREE FRIGGING HOURS in the emergency room before anyone got around to seeing me.

Well, MY car was stolen while I was on leave. (I'm on the phone with my insurance company right now) and a laptop I had ordered got signed for, but no one knows where the fuck it is currently.

Oh yeah?!

Well... that really sucks hard... damn.

Once I sneezed and corn came out of my left nostril, but it wasn't *that* traumatic.

Ew, all those things suck, including the previous post.

Jake's car got stolen last December, but it got recovered. Good luck with your insurance company Ranger... we have USAA and I was so not impressed.

Tijay.. at least you have the brains to check it before you go. Would've sucked more to realize you are missing the pic of a lifetime because your camera is busted.

Have a fantastic safe trip!

Go to a place like Costco or BJs, they'll take back anything. I had two friends that picked up a couple $400-550 digital cameras before 10 of us went to Vegas for 10 days last summer. They used the cameras for the entire trip, then returned them when they were done. They just explained they tested them out, and weren't satisfied with them. And that isn't even a complete lie.

Interesting advice, but I'm not a member at any wholesale shopping venue. Also I'll be gone 6 weeks which I think is a bit beyond the point of no return.

I was putting the ligature on my saxomophone, and there was a subdued "pop". No problem, I figure, it must have misthreaded or something. Which was kinda right in the sense of being completely wrong, the damn screw snapped in half, making sure to be unclean enough so a little fragment jutted out, preventing it from being unscrewed. I had a ligature for 6 years, no problems. Buy a brand-spanking-new-one, breaks within a year.

But it got fixed for free, and it only took like a couple days, so yay! :D
