- a brass-inset thin silver ring

- l my ring

Rose-veined white gold twines about itself to form an unusually twisted ring, each twist demarcated by a tiny etching of one of the five elements: air, earth, fire, lightning, and water. The ring culminates in an elaborate half-bezel setting which cradles a pear-cut iridescent silver-veined crystal. The silver-veined hues of the crystal shimmer in the ambient light, lending the illusion of neverending depths. The crystal leans slightly to the left in its setting.

- turn ring
You give your ring a sharp twist. The crystal moves slightly in its setting and then clicks into place.

- Loresong below

A wavering image of the uppermost chamber of a dark tower appears before your eyes. The image narrows to the chamber's circular interior where an ashen-haired wizard of indeterminate race and years chants over a large chunk of pure crystal resting on a battered work table.

The wizard's chanting rises like a tidal wave and the chamber trembles with power. He gestures at the crystal as he channels all of his power into it, murmuring one last word. The crystal flashes once, twice, thrice and as the vision ends, a small shard flies off the crystal, which has now turned a brilliant blue-green.

Unphased by the crystal's change, the wizard mutters incantations under his breath. Wind whips through the chamber, scattering pages and knocking books off shelves. Not a hair on the wizard moves, however, as with a peremptory gesture, he channels the winds at the crystal.

The blue-green crystal roils and swirls then fades back to clear as another shard flies across the room. As your vision ends, the wizard caresses the shimmering crystal.
As the vision reforms, you are once again in the wizard's chambers. It is some time later, however, and moonlight streams in through open windows. The wizard holds his crystal up to the moonlight, and it glints reddish-orange. Beneath a newly scorched window curtain, a matching shard glimmers.

The wizard thrusts the crystal out the window, holding it high above the earth beneath. He shouts loudly at the sky and the loam, and the very ground shudders at his words. The skies darken, but just before the moons disappear, you see the crystal glint an earthy brown. Roiling clouds cover the moons, and your vision ends.

The sky boils with midnight storm clouds, and lightning crackles across the sky. The wizard frantically chants to the skies, still dangling from his window, crystal in hand. A silvery streak of lightning answers his spells and strikes the crystal with a resounding *CRACK*! A silver-veined crystal shard falls to the ground below, bouncing off an earthen-hued shard already there. The skies suddenly clear, revealing the stars and the moon yet again.

Obviously pleased with himself, the wizard sets the crystal on his table. For the first time, he notes the other shards about his chamber. With a negligent toss of his hand, he magically hurls them from his window and goes back to admiring his handiwork. As the vision pulls away from the chamber and goes misty, you see a hunched figure at the tower's base, eagerly gathering the wizard's discarded shards.

Really don't know much about them, other than they have something to do with wyrdlings. Any info on the abilities or value would be most helpful.
