Hey guys,

Pretty new to the game and I was wondering if anyone could tell me some of the main problems that older warriors face.. I have been playing a Half-Krolvin warrior swinging two-handed weapons for a bit and was thinking of switching to a halfling or gnome race for the better reflexes and increased TD. Is this something that would help me out later down the line or does it really even matter? Thanks for any advice.

It might help out a little bit more but by no means is it a requirement. There are and have been plenty of successful large sized races swinging twohanded weapons at cap.

Plus you're half krolvin which has one of the better stat mixes for warriors except for the logic bonus hit. If you're curious about playing a gnome/halfling I'd suggest rolling up an alt and seeing how much the encumbrance issues affect you, too. I like to load up on loot and the positives of being a halfing were outweighed by the hassle of weight.

Dwarves are another good warrior race but you can have trouble ambushing heads on critters although you could leg'em first.

I'd recommend staying with your current race unless you're just not happy with your starting stat allocation.

I agree, stick with it unless your stats suck or you just want something new. I capped as a giantman warrior with horrible stat placement. And a gnome really isn't going to give you the TD to be worth it. A halfling might, if you find it that big of a problem, but then you'd have to find a way to deal with encumbrance issues. All up to you really.

I'll echo the above that you're fine with just about any race.

But to answer your question, the problems that older warriors face? Here are the things that kill me, at least:

* Spirit/Sorcerer warding spells. Without a bunch of imbeds, it can be hard to get your TD high enough to completely avoid things. Mine is high enough that they can't get enough of an endroll to kill me outright, but it can be enough to stun/knockdown and get the ball rolling.
* Focused implosion. I usually don't wait around to let something get one off, but if it stuns me with a warding spell and I can't break it in time, I'll eat it this way occasionally.
* RT stacking. Warcamps and very, very rarely bandits can pile on maneuvers you're not trained in and keep you in a minute+ of RT. During this time you're open to getting whittled away at, or held in place and imploded.
* A distant last place would be critter maneuvers. Greater water elementals' surge maneuver (or maybe crawler burrow I haven't done the scatter yet) can catch me if I'm in offensive too long and unlucky. Again, usually not enough to kill me, just a long stun + RT and opens you up for more.

Oh, forgot one last way:

* Major E-wave. What a load of bullshit.

Hey thank you for the advice guys. Just did not want to regret the race later down the line.

Much appreciated.
