Either I'm not remembering how much I actually paid for this, or valuation is much different, anyone give me a decent value?
It's an earcuff that lets you understand dark elven.
a bright faenor earcuff
Never seen something like this for sale. An open auction is probably the only way to find out. I'd bid 15m on it at least.

I think I sold my gnome one for like 15m. Belnia used to collect them. Had like 3-4 of them assembled.

The only problem with dark elven is, who really speaks dark elven unless the dhe'nar and the Faendryl are making jokes about everyone else around?

I'm not sure if it holds true anymore but it used to be that like Dark Elven Sorcerers were like 1 out of 4 on the top fame charts. Definitely skewed but it just showed how many there were in existence. I think pure Elf was most popular simply because of all the high society stuff that takes place in Ta'Illistim and many of the GS Barbies favored elves as a race.

Below wanted 20-30 depending on the one, if I remember correctly. If this was elven, it would fetch more, but dark elven is rarely ever spoken.

Dark elven is spoken all the time, and often quite openly. I must hang out with a lower class of people than you do WRoss. Plus the dingleberries will want this. I'd say it will go for more than most language devices would. That said, most everything in the market is in the toilet right now, so it's fairly hard to predict. Rare stuff tends to hold its value a lot better, so I'd guess you'll do ok in an auction.

I'd do a min bid of 10. If it doesn't move at that price try again later. It is worth 10 at a minimum.

Mmm... I always see Faendryl or Dhe'nar spoken, rather than Dark Elven. I don't even know why dark elven is a language personally.

I always assumed that was just culture-based messaging and that it was just dark elven from a mechanics standpoint. I've never played a dark elf so I guess I wouldn't know either way.

Naos explained it that the tongue is inherent to the region of Rhoska-tor. All Dark elves share the language based upon the magical influence of the land. I always liked the way Naos handled the DE languages.

No one speaks "dark elven". Its either Faendryl or Dhe'narsi, unless your Draithe or Dhairn. So you'd be paying money to hear either one of them speak.

Some dark elves will speak dark elven as they have picked neither culture. As there is no added benefit and since neither of the two cultures have a town or reason to exist, rolfard plays himself as an orphan who has picked up the dark elven language but knows neither faendryl or dhenarsi.
