I guess I could have put this in mechanics but it's concerning my warrior so I'll put it here.
What do you consider to be the best brawling weapons and why?
Katar won't apply because this warrior has 108 ranks of Twohanders and 108 ranks of Brawling and I'm not going to be picking up any OHE.
Give me thoughts, thanks in advance.

I personally like tiger claws. faster then troll claws, but stronger then the other brawlers (for the most part).
But then again, those weighted spurs are nice, I hear.

fist-scythes are the only way to go.
The DF on everything else bites.

Drop all ranks of brawling, pick up some Qstrike and use two-handers forever. Brawlers, and most other weapons, just don't do enough damage.

Fist-scythe is best, jackblade second.

Well, you are only going to use brawling weapons on non chain and plate wearing creatures to begin with. Therefore, the AvD's can't really be disputed and fist-scythes and katars are best. As Bob stated, a jackblade isn't bad and I used to use them to hunt armorless critters.
I like using a fist-scythe.

Cleric uses a sancted tiger-claw on undead, fist-scythe on living. Once again, I got a couple spares in the locker is you wanna try one, bro.
Always fist scythe, by far.
And a stupid blackjack if you're hunting some non puncturable.

My own little study on brawling weapons effectiveness. Calculations took into consideration AvD, damage factor and an arbitrarily determined (but constant) end roll. I ranked the effectiveness based on the resulting raw damage against each AsG. Here are the results from best to worst by armor category:
Against cloth/skin:
1) troll-claw
fist-scythe
2) katar
3) jackblade
4) tiger-claw
blackjack
hook-knife
5) knuckle-blade
6) yierka-spur
7) knuckle-duster
8) cestus
paingrip
9) razorpaw
10) fist
Leather:
1) katar
2) fist-scythe
3) jackblade
troll-claw
4) knuckle-blade
5) yierka-spur
6) blackjack
7) tiger-claw
8) knuckle-duster
9) hook-knife
10) cestus
11) paingrip
razorpaw
12) fist
Scale:
1) katar
2) fist-scythe
3) jackblade
4) troll-claw
5) yierka-spur
6) knuckle-blade
7) blackjack
8) knuckle-duster
9) tiger-claw
10) hook-knife
11) cestus
12) paingrip
13) razorpaw
14) fist
Chain:
1) katar
2) fist-scythe
3) jackblade
4) yierka-spur
5) troll-claw
6) blackjack
7) knuckle-duster
8) knuckle-blade
9) paingrip
10) cestus
11) hook-knife
12) tiger-claw
13) razorpaw
14) fist
Plate:
1) katar
2) fist-scythe
jackblade
3) troll-claw
4) knuckle-blade
yierka-spur
blackjack
5) knuckle-duster
6) fist

Hope it helps.

Apologies. I thought I had copied them directly from the (gs3) website but I must have made a mistake. Base speed was not a factor in my ranking however. I was only listing it for the sake of convenience.
Edit: Sais did not exist at the time of the study and since I don't really play the game anymore I did not bother to add them when they did come out.

Sais do really good (comparatively) against one AG, possibly chain or scale.
Sais are awful (like pretty much all brawlers) against plate.

Sais are good on chain, but katars are made specifically to be able to puncture chain.
