I've decided to give a shot at a locksmithing rogue to try to increase my cash flow.
I'm shooting for a dwarven brigand. Skulking about rock formations and caves and jumping out and mushing people in the face with a sledgehammer or mattock. After looking around the forums I've decided on a training plan as such:
2x THW
1x Armor
1x CM
1x Ambush
2x S&H
2x picking
2x disarm
2x perception
2x dodge
1x Physical Fitness
404 and 4 harness power 9 arcane symbols by level 20
My comments and concerns are thus: Will only 1x CM and 1x ambush allow me to jump from hiding and actually hit what I want to mush. I'm starting new, I only care about picking my own boxes until level 70, got that covered. Is 2x going to be enough hiding?
What do I do after I hit level 20, where should I place the glut of points I receive once I'm done with the spell training? I can turn one of the 2x skills to 3x, or 1x skills to 2x by level 30.
Just as an extra topic, I have a level 22 half-elf rogue right now with crap stats. This guy would be more for the roleplay and visualization I'd like, even though I don't roleplay all too often. Is it worth the extra month of work to get to the point where I will be pulling in worthwhile size boxes (opinions accepted)?
I'm going to play him along a pure wizard, so that the wizard can spell us, disk him, carry all the sweet loots. I do have the option of playing him with a pure empath. It's been years since I played a rogue and I really have no idea how often they get hit, especially as THW. I supposed I have the option of blunt/board, but it would hurt what I visualize him doing with a shield, but I am a firm believer in mechanics and ease of play.
Thanks!
