One of the most horrifying acts ever carried out by mankind. (http://www.milkandcookies.com/links/9271/)

Duh, a link might help.

Yep. That's live action roleplaying alright. LARPs are not my cup of tea, but for some games they're rather fun.

I'm not sure what's funnier, the "Lightning Bolt" guy or the one clapping at the end.

LARPING IS SO COOL THAT I DECLINED TO GO TO MY CAMPUS' LARPING EVENT.

Edited to add: It's so cool, even I wasn't cool enough to accept terms with the awesomeness of people deliberately swinging and missing sticks broken off oak trees at each other, as they argue over how many HPs they just drained.

Heh. I wonder how these people do this without breaking up and ending up on the ground, laughing their asses off.

HarmNone could not do this

A non-GSer could probably say the same of GSers HarmNone ;)

Heh. A goodly portion of the time I was playing GS, I WAS sitting here laughing my ass off, SHM. The difference is, I was at a computer instead of rolling around on the ground with people throwing stuff at me, or bopping me with tree limbs while hollering "lightning bolt"! :D

HarmNone will take her nice computer chair over concrete any day

Oh, being "proud to be nerdly", I must say they do indeed take it to another level...

You know I used to play table top D&D back in the day (still have all the D&D books, and modules and guides :loser: ), and we had a guy that would talk in accents and act out what his characters did. He would probably have been into a LARP.

Me, I was just trying to put on my wizard hat and robes, and talk to the elven wench in the bar while getting drunk on mead and ale.

Hahah..I still can't get over it. I went to my boys house and I HAD to show him. We just started cracking up and now we plan to just yell, "Lighting bolt! Sleep! Death!" in front of my best-friend one day. I'm gonna poke him with a pen and yell, "Sleep!" Then, he's gonna throw pennies at me yelling lighting bolt. Then we're gonna show him the clip so he doesn't think we're total weirdos.

Dear Lalana

Please lay off the crack pipe.

Love,

A concerned friend.

If I were the guy dressed up in that ogre suit (well, besides having no life, no girlfriend, and being quasi-retarded), I'd woop that guys ass who kept throwing tennis balls at me. Seriously.

He'd just cast Root on you while you were charging him.

Dear Edaarin,

Crack is my best-friend.

Love,

Your only friend.

P.S. Why Artha knows about what to cast at a LARP is kinda scary. What's Root anyway?

It's what some guy yelled out near the end.

Heh, guess I'm the only weirdo here who didn't think it was such a big deal because I've seen them before. It's D&D with costumes.

At least they get out and socialize with each other. I'm sure they think people who play online text games all the time are strange too. ;)

I saw it and just couldnt help thinking of the latest Reno 911 episode where they arrest a D&D guy because his axe got possesed and he sliced some other guys neck. He said something like I am immune to edged attacks and mist attacks and the cop was like are you immune to mace?? SPPPRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY
funny shit....

Get a holding cell ready for a demigod, lol. That show rox. It could do with a hotness infusion, but still, good stuff.

The best thing ever in that show was when the kids were trying to jump their bikes from one roof to another.

That kid's bolt AS sucks. Pretty good round time though...

I've seen kids running around a wooded park near my house playing this, it looked like a couple of groups of about 15 people were waging a little war. They seemed to be having a pretty good time even with the occasional odd look they were getting from old women walking their dogs, etc.
My five year old was extremely impressed when I explained what the big kids were doing hitting each other with sticks.

I was going to bring up that Reno 911 episode but you beat me to it! During the whole clip my daughter kept looking over at me. I'd go... my game isn't played in public!(with this real defensive nerdy voice) She would just nod and smile. I love that show. I like how the ones that play the officers will lots of times play the derelicts they try to arrest.

I would still play D&D if there was a group around here. I had some great D&D friends in Memphis. We were all older so it was... Sunday afternoon/evening drinking, hitting the bong and rolling dice. The girl that lived there with her husband was a kindergarten teacher and we always got carrot and celery sticks (cut perfectly) with ranch dressing on our munchie break(s). (to kind of balance out the junk food high) We had a blast.

P. S. This also made me think of that D&D clip that had characters from a PS2 game or something. I wanna casssst magic missssle.
