Mistomeer or whatever...
Perhaps a letter to me to either confirm or deny some vicious allegations would have been in order before you go and post something that obviously you have no knowledge of, but instead, you'd rather just spin the web further.
I've publicly stated here on these boards, that the reason I left Simutronics employment was something neither they nor I wanted to talk about openly. I left it as a difference in philosophical differences and some of you on the uptake were very astute in your emails to me and caught on.
I left Simutronic's employ on March 24th, 2004. I have no idea what altering session that Starsnuffer was involved with, or when, or how, but I can assure you that had nothing at all to do with my decision.
In the future, perhaps you would worry more about your real lives and your day to day events more then worrying about some inconsequential game that you choose to pay $480.00 per year or more on.
To Mr. Parkbandit. Yes sir, a decision was made with regard to my website. I took it down.
I was faced with a decision to make with regards to an offer on the table to purchase it lock stock and barrel. I chose not to sell it, and in fact, chose to shut it down as opposed to letting Simutronics benefit from the advertising.
A short history about the site... it was opened on June 17th, 1997 and was going to be an auction site for Gemstone items for ingame silvers. About that time, Ciston's player Ken decided to start making money buying and selling things for cash, which ended up leading me to not put up the auction site for fear of people thinking that they'd be able to buy things for cash. Instead, I made it into a workshop for players to learn how to roll up, RP, and enchant like a wizard.
The sites popularity grew when I posted Simucon pictures on it and even one year (I think it was 2000) we had a link to listen to Simucon live. Since 2000, over 2 million hits occured and for that I'm grateful to have the opportunity to let people learn about GS3.
My game, Gemstone 3 is gone. Yes, the shell of the game is there, but the rest of it has long since disappeared. Gone are the GMs that really made the game fun. Gone are the scary times where you're hunting for your very life. (In game life that is. It's just not the same for me. So I've closed my site and havn't logged Celtic or any of my other characters into the game in over 3 months. I've stepped back into the real world of touching and feeling what's around me. ( You can read that as I bought a house and have TONS OF FREAKING YARDWORK!). I spend more time reading, hanging out with friends instead of burying myself into a computer screen. Heck, my IMs are almost never on anymore when I'm on the computer because frankly I'm not interested in talking about GS.
So there ya go. Hope that clears things up. If it doesn't, well, believe what ever it is you want to believe, because like I said earlier that some of you can't live a day without some sort of conspiracy theory and it makes you feel important "being in the loop".
This is one case, I can tell you that you are no where near the loop.
Have fun kids.
I sure did.
Alan.
