Thinking about updating my paladin's skills since I haven't played him a lot since the release of Paladins.

I am thinking of dropping the base spells down to 30 ranks and getting rid of the 2 spirit spells he has, going 2x in shield, 1x MOC and possibly dropping a good bit of the dodging skill to get him into full plate. I don't cast a lot of attack spells mostly 1615 when I am in a bind.

Current training is this:

You'll want to keep your Pally spells at 35, for BESEECH capability. Drop your Harness Power down to at level, as the extra two ranks are only garnering you 2 mana points, for too many training points. You could probably do just fine having Climbing and Swimming at 20 each, for another 20-ish levels, or longer if you don't plan on taking the Vaalor-Illistim Aradhul Road shortcut. Keep Dodging at .5-1x, if possible.

If it helps at all, here's my paladin's training at 73:

Skill Name | Actual Actual
| Bonus Ranks
Armor Use.....................| 265 165 Going for 210 ranks, for max reduced MnS spell hindrance in MBP
Shield Use.....................| 250 150
Combat Maneuvers.........| 174 74
Edged Weapons.............| 250 150
Multi Opponent Combat...| 160 60
Physical Fitness.............| 174 74
Dodging........................| 174 74
Harness Power...............| 170 70 220 mana, enough to 1615/1630 everything while hunting, and still 1603/130 home.
Spirit Mana Control.........| 105 25 For the rare occasion I use 1640, and sharing mana.
Survival........................| 140 40
Perception....................| 140 40
Climbing........................| 120 30
Swimming......................| 90 20
First Aid........................| 140 40

Spell Lists
Minor Spirit....................| 30

Besides moving to either 1635/100 or 1635/103 instead of just 1630/100, it seems like a good plan to me. I'd probably also drop a bit of perception to make up for the points kept in spells, or maybe drop a bit or harness power. I am not sure how much you use the scroll training, but that is a big TP expenditure for your level. I would go looking there for more points before I went to cut dodge.

Stay 2x in armor until you get rank 4 Armored fluidity/casting (whichever you prefer, fluidity is more effective imo)
If you are going to use a shield, use it effectively. Recommend being 2x in this as well.
Offensive weapon choice: Always 2x (duh)
Cman stuffs try to stay close to 1x as possible, after you finish off the more required PTP items (armor, shield) try going a little past 1x
Never go past 1x harness power as a semi, it's just not worth the extra costs. |Side note| How much mana do you have total?
Dodging is good .5-1x is best for a paladin.
Physical Fitness should be focused on after you are done armor training, since it is the main factor of Redux 2x once armor is done
Spells should be kept at 1x or less. Unless you like to raise, 1640 isn't really worth it. I'd drop down to 1635 and put those spare points into lores.

That's the basic build for a paladin

Now secondary skills.
AS/MIU increase as needed/wanted, but when you plan on moving into the higher hunting areas, you can just tank points into these before you actually leave your old hunting area. There's a big long calculation for Spellburst. Gib has gotta pretty close to the actual formula, which no one actually knows the real thing.
That is outside Simu's employees. (supposedly)

Perception... I would drop down to 30 until you get into areas in which you fail to find what you are searching for with 3 attempts.
Lores, you need lores!
My paladin is 93 and should prolly work on lores some more, but here are my lores atm.
Spiritual Lore - Blessings.........| 105 25
Spiritual Lore - Religion..........| 105 25
Spiritual Lore - Summoning.........| 90 20

Each one of the values is at a Seed for 1601 1605 1609 1610 1615 and 1630.
If you want to see what each bonus is for each spell, you can look it up under Simu's spell guide.
However, with 1601 and 1610 it increases the mana cost of the spell. 1601 for me costs 6 mana and gives me +10 DS/STD instead of the +5

Just thought of this, when advancing in the Minor Spirit Circle, pick a spell and go for that one, then stop when you get at 1x total spell research.
I went for 103, 107 and then 120. But you might like different spells in the list.
