I'm having a hard time understanding what stacks and what doesn't in terms of gear. I've checked krakii and briefly searched this site to no avail:

I've been told that the GoS damage padding and crit padding sigils don't stack (you can't have effectively two types of padding from sigils). Do the DS bonuses stack, and one padding cancels out the other?

If I have a set of armor that has damage padding on it, will the GoS crit padding stack with that? and vice-versa

Currently my character is wearing active/reactive flaring armor. Will the flares cancel the GoS padding effect out(ie No padding effect when using the sigil)?

The same with weapons, I've been told the crit and damage weighting sigils don't stack, can I get one type of weighting on the weapon and then use the other weighting from a sigil? Or a flaring weapon with one of the weightings? Or, damn the large number of questions in this post, can you stack a certain type of weighting (say, the crit weighting sigil while using a claidhmore, for ludicrous weighting)?

And while we're on armor, if I have damage padded arm greaves and leg greaves, and wear it over a suit of crit padded full plate, that should stack, right? I thought I read somewhere that it does, but both effects are reduced because you're getting them both.

Why do greaves/helms have enchants (or normal material DS bonuses), do these come into play if you're hit in the location you're wearing them?

Any halp is appreciated, and thanks in advance. It seems like the more I learn about this game, the more questions I have...

No, the damage will not stack with the crit. The signs cannot both be used at the same time.

Yes, you can stack symbols on padded armor, regardless of the type of padding. Say you had HDP Armor, you could use a sigil to have HDP and HCP up at the same time.

GoS padding has no effect on what your armor has/does. So your flares are fine.

Again, the Sigils don't care what your weapon's actual abilities are, they just can't both be used at the same time. So yes, you can have up Major Bane and use a claidhmore to have even more weighting. Note that GoS weighting is only good against GoS hated foes.

Sorta... This is a good reference. http://www.krakiipedia.org/wiki/Padding#Armor_Accessories

They have it just because of the way the game works. You don't gain any DS from regular armor accessories, just overall DS from your armor.

I like potatoes.
