Yes. It was hot sexy time all the time. My cell mate looked just like Charlize Theron and I was forced to fondle her boobs for toilet paper. On days that end with "DAY" the guards, who all look like Tatum Channing, would do striptease instead of feeding us. It was horrible.

A dog hoarder just got discovered near here. Was on the news this morning. They have to destroy all the dogs because they are too sick and aggressive to save. They said there was an actual tunnel through the feces in the house. Asshole owners.

Funny enough I've been handcuffed twice in my life and the first time ever was while I still lived in Washington. I was 16 and regularly ran errands for my dad (it was just him and me, so I did the grocery shopping and dinner runs and stuff) and the cops in Lake Stevens were huge assholes who regularly pulled over teenagers to harass them. I was no different and largely just tolerated it and was very careful to obey the speed limit and follow the law to a T. One cop in particular would bother me. This day, I was coming home from Haggen with pre-made salads for our dinner, he pulls me over and starts to give me the runaround. Says it didn't look like I was wearing a seatbelt (I was), asked to see my trash receptacle, spent a long time running my ID. Finally he comes back and starts asking me more questions and finally asks me where I'm going. I tell him "I'm going home." He asks who's at my home and what am I going to do there, I finally have had enough and refused to answer and asked him twice If I was free to leave. He gives me this shitty sneer and says "Actually you're not", makes me step out of the vehicle, he handcuffs me, and then proceeds to radio in that he smells marijuana and is going to search my car.
This was totally hilarious bullshit- I was the world's boringest teenager. I got great grades, did sports, and then came home and played Gemstone. While most of the teenagers were halfway up Mt Pilchuck getting completely drunk and high on Halloween, I was drinking Mountain Dew and merchant whoring at Ebon Gate. I didn't smoke or drink or do anything illegal because I felt like my peers were all fucking idiots and it was too dangerous.
So needless to say, he didn't find shit but said that I needed to learn a lesson about respect but that I was getting off pretty easy. He un-cuffed me but proceeded to drive me back to my apartment (me in the back seat) and present me to my totally bewildered father and start talking about how I didn't respect the police and I was headed down a bad path and though he didn't find anything he smelled mj on me and the car. My father is by his nature a rather calm and reserved man, he's a retired Navy chief, he's seen and been through some shit.. I've only ever seen him ragingly angry a few times, and this eclipsed them all. He doesn't get loud and screamy when he's pissed though, and in the world's coldest voice he asked the police man if he had really just dragged his daughter home like a criminal, leaving our only car miles away on the complete opposite side of the lake. The guy actually wheeled back from my dad and the look he was giving him. He asked for the keys of the car which the cop handed over and after like 5 seconds of silence, my dad holds out the keys to him and says in that same voice, "I work for a newspaper and you will be hearing from me further about this. I expect to see my car parked out front in the next half hour." The cop pretty much ran from us and the next few months were a total shit show and while the fucker didn't lose his job he did move elsewhere and the harassment of teenage drivers stopped.
TL;DR Boring highschool Nikki gets arrested for not wanting to explain to dickhead harassing cop that she's going home to eat a salad and play a video game, her father makes the cop shit his pants
My other story I don't feel is as entertaining because the cops weren't being dicks and actually apologized after they'd searched me and verified that no I didn't have cocaine and no I had no idea that my friend did.

That's a completely different poll topic :D
My stint in the slammer (all 4 hours!) was because I caught my now ex cheating. I threw a few punches his way and may have tried to beat a ho down. It was pretty much brushed off as a domestic disturbance and no charges were filed. This was a long time ago and I've pretty much curbed my redneck ways since then.

I wrecked a rental car in Scotland at like 1AM in the middle of nowhere. After waiting a bit and seeing no cars I got out and started walking, eventually getting back to where I was staying 2 hours later. As the place had no phone, and well, it was 3AM, I figured I'd report it when I could. No, police show up at 5AM, they apparently came upon it (Oh, and it was off the road and not blocking the street at all) at 4AM.
Got to spend the entire weekend in a Scottish jail for leaving the scene. I got the charges dropped on Monday.

How long have you been going there???
I find it hilarious you get your hair done literally less than like 500 yards from where I lived, haha. I was in the apartments behind the market, like right across the road. Hartford Court I think they were called?
And yeah.. there's always been some really weird social divides there that make really interesting crimes. Half the population are rich people who work for Microsoft and shit and live on the lake, the other half mostly Boeing lineworkers in constant danger of getting shit canned from their jobs and eeking it out in the housing developments or living in trailers. At least when I lived there there was a drug and drug-induced crime epidemic. Meth for the poor people and pills for the rich people and everyone's kids getting drunk and high on shrooms together. The cops are (were?) immense assholes but that's pretty stressful.

I go to jail at least once a week. Technically, they're federal detention centers. But that's to visit clients.
I've only been arrested, I think, three times, and they were all civil disobedience charges. One I thought was going to be fairly serious, but it ended up not. It involved a School of the Americas protest at Ft. Benning, GA which had a rather serious trespassing on military ground charge on it, but that was dropped because, well, I wasn't trespassing (though quite a few people did "cross the line" into the base which we had been told was the point of no return in re: getting jail time). None of them involved any jail time except for holding while I was processed/being bailed out.

I know those apartments well, I used to have a post office box in that little post office next door. I've been going to Yvonne's for about 6 months now. I started going because I could get Sunday appointments with one of the gals there but they stopped opening it on Sundays so I don't know how much longer I'll make that trek.
And yes, there is a booming drug culture in Lake Stevens.

I've spent a couple of nights in jail, nothing that I consider "doing time" though.
Of the two, the first was my favorite. Stopped for running a stop sign (I was asleep) and ended up booked on concealed weapons charge and Bootlegging: Possession with intent to distribute alcohol in a dry county. Mississippi, way to hang on to the good ole days of prohibition!

Several years ago...
I came home from college and met up with a friend from high school. We were barely 21 and got wasted in the bar scene in Dallas (Greenville Ave). I rode with said friend and after getting nice a sloshy, we thought it would be a great idea to drive to this shitty Johnny Law suburb to score some pot from this guys house.
We didn't make it. My friend was speeding. I remember pleading with him to slow down. Sure enough, a cop was driving the other direction and made a U turn with his lights and sirens on. For whatever reason, he thought it would be a good idea to run. After flooring it he made a right turn into a neighborhood street, turned off his lights, and pulled into some random house's driveway.
The cop following us flew past us and didn't see us. Waiting there was the most horrible feeling. This is Texas and people don't take too kindly a stranger sitting in your driveway. After 15 - 20 minutes, we thought we were in the clear and pulled away.
At the very first intersection there must have been at least 5 cop cars waiting and we were immediately pulled over. Needless to say...they were PISSED. We were instructed to exit the vehicle (one at a time) from a loud speaker, walk backwards, kneel on the ground with our hands above our head. They had guns drawn on us. I nearly shit myself as I had and since have never been in trouble with the law.
My friend got charges for evading arrest, but interesting enough they didn't assess a DWI or the speeding ticket. I was charged with a public intoxication. Now normally, this is just a minor ticket. Being pissed off cops (understandably), they wouldn't let me call someone to pick me up and I spent the night in a single cell.
My jail experience was brief. The next morning I got time served, plead no contest, and was there maybe 6-7 hours. It wasn't that bad, but I remember the fear being awful. I was in a single cell with no roommate. I didn't eat breakfast and didn't get to the shower.
For a long time now I am straight as an arrow. I don't smoke, I very rarely drink, and I haven't had a traffic violation in 5 years. I could have been to jail on numerous occasions for the stupid things I did in my youth, but this is the only thing they got me on.

I've spent plenty of time in assorted prisons visiting my dad, but have never been there on my own merits. I think the closest I ever came to getting cuffed was a cop seeing my 12 year old self try to shoplift a toy. He made me give it back and apologize to the shop owner.

My uncle locked me in a holding cell and turned off all the lights when I was 11 or 12. That is the extent of it. I always keep my shit on the downlow, and growing up it would have to be a serious charge for a cop in my home town to arrest me. Fucking rookies in this town are still hearing stories about my step dad. His name is on the dedication plaque in the police department.

DOT has done some improvements (It's two lanes both east and west now. Or was it always two lanes?) I've never had an issue with it but then again, I've never attempted to negotiate it during rush hour.
Lake Stevens has two, count 'em, two roundabouts now on Lundeen. I hear a third is in the works somewhere but I'm not sure exactly where. Also, Norm's Market put in a bunch of gas pumps.
Progress I suppose.

If it's two lanes the whole time that's new, west it was 1 lane for most of the time even up until I left (in 2006). I know about the first roundabout at the foot of the hill at the end of Lundeen, I can't imagine where else they'd put in roundabouts @_@
Poopy progress, a friend told me that the daycares around the area no longer take the kids to Kids Oasis or Lundeen Park for outings because of liability issues due to drug paraphernalia being found in the playgrounds and kids getting hurt, which is le suck. Also, idk if the Dairy Queen was rebuilt or not? If not, I can't imagine what motivates the high schoolers to fucking run because I looked forward to the Thursday race from the high school to Dairy Queen for a free ice cream cone more than pretty much anything. HS Cross-Country members were and are some of the laziest fucks I've met in my entire life, haha.

The second roundabout is where Lundeen intersects Vernon Road. That was a pretty bad spot for people trying to get off Vernon onto Lundeen and the roundabout is a nice alternative to putting in a stop light there. They also significantly widened highway 9 up to 92, and they are looking at starting desperately needed improvements to where 204 intersects with highway 9.

He asks who's at my home and what am I going to do there, I finally have had enough and refused to answer and asked him twice If I was free to leave. He gives me this shitty sneer and says "Actually you're not", makes me step out of the vehicle, he handcuffs me, and then proceeds to radio in that he smells marijuana and is going to search my car.
So needless to say, he didn't find shit but said that I needed to learn a lesson about respect but that I was getting off pretty easy.
I live about 10 minutes from where you encountered that fucktard and I'm sorry to say, the good ol' boy mentality is still alive and kicking. I got 'taught a lesson' by a local yokel sheriff and it was NOT FUN, especially on a long holiday weekend when there were no judges sitting the bench. According to other inmates, Sno. Co is the worst jail in Washington State. So fortunate to have had the privilege.

Cops came to get me at 330 PM on a Friday, was out by 430 PM same day. They tried to screw me for sure. Luckily my attorney knew the guy that handles bail pretty well and had him go up and get me out. Thought I was gonna have to spend all weekend in there.

When I was in college, on my 22nd Birthday after the Riddick Bowe vs. Evander Holyfield fight in 1992, I was driving home from the bar around 3 in the morning... in my 1976 Datsun 280z. Unfortunately for me, my 280z's alternator was going out, so to keep the lights bright (and battery charged) I was in a lower gear with the RPMs up pretty high. Yes, I was a poor college student.
Anyway, I drove by a cop, who wondered why I sounded like a super wound up motorcycle going by at 25 MPH and pulled out behind me, then pulled me over. He got my license, registration, asked if I'd been drinking, I said yes. I explained about the alternator... he pulled me out and did the roadside tests, which I believe I passed but maybe not. In the meantime they rolled backup on me which I suppose is standard operationing proceedure, and then they cuffed and stuffed me and took me to the cop shop.
Once there, I got frisked, fingerprinted, thrown in a drunk tank with a COMPLETELY blotto native american who kept telling the officers that this "whitey" was ok and to let me out. 30 minutes later they administered a breathalizer, I blew a hair over the legal limit if I remember right. I called my roommate, he came and got me and I went back to my car and drove home.
I forget how much later, but sometime later, I took a defensive driver course, paid a big ass fine, and didn't have a license for a year. It sucked ass, and I learned my lesson and have never driven drunk or near drunk again. To this day I don't think I was drunk THEN but like I said, I learned my lesson. I also don' think I have a DUI on my record either - my issurance says I don't have one, so I guess the course dropped it down to a misdemeanor?
Anyway, that's my time in jail, about 30 minutes.
I don't expect I'll ever see one again.

My mother and father were drinking. My mother doesn't know when to shut the fuck up, and my father had enough. He was getting his knife and I stopped him, then we got into it. I hit him in the head with a lead crystal vase and put like 30 stitches in his head. Both arrested, but for me it was ruled self defense and thrown out. I only spent the night so nothing too major. That...is all I'm willing to share.

I think in most states your first DUI is a misdemeanor, odd it didn't stay on your record. I don't think they were taken as seriously back then though.

When I was in college, I got blasted-out-of-my-mind black-out drunk at a friend's house and tried to walk home. I made it to within a block of my place, mistook the house in front of me for my own, and entered it to find an elderly couple in "my" bed, which confused the fuck out of me. I demanded they vacate my bed so I could go to sleep. They, of course, were terrified. The cops showed up shortly after and I spent 3 days in jail before I got bailed out. I was mortified and I sent the couple a very heartfelt apology, which convinced them not to press for extreme charges, so I ended up with a year of probation (which got reduced to 6 months) and a small fine. The unspecified felony got reduced to a misdemeanor upon completion of the probation, and a couple of years ago I was able to get the misdemeanor expunged from my record. I'm very lucky, especially considering that the elderly man whose house I invaded was a retired cop and could easily have shot me and been within his rights; he showed amazing restraint.
Needless to say, I don't drink like that anymore.

I had a buddy in the Marines who had very bad sleepwalking tendencies, especially drunk. Did just about the same thing(they found him on their couch the next morning.)

I voted yes, once, but I was never behind bars nor did I end up being charged. I was pulled at 3AM for a rolling stop at a major intersection with zero traffic. I was asked if I'd been drinking, my initial reply was "a couple" but I went on to explain that I'd had five beers in an almost seven hour period of time. The bitch had a ride along, made me do the stupid human tricks. I failed the 30 Mississippi on one leg test, passed the rest and still got cuffed and driven to the station. Sat around with a bunch of young cops (and one obviously drunk idiot) complaining about their training Sgt., who was my neighbor. Once I chimed in about him they sort of shut up.
I blew a .03, the magistrate lectured me for nothing and then let me go. I had to walk a 1/2 mile to a seven eleven to call for someone to come get me. Had to pay to get my car out of impound the next day. I was really pissed about the whole event. I felt like I got the shaft by the cop with her ride along and the magistrate. In hindsight, I'm glad I got off and it's rare I do any drinking beyond a glass of wine or two with dinner. Typically, if I'm driving I don't drink anything at all.
I've actually run a couple exercises with the county police as the criminal fleeing from an armed robbery scene. Unlike criminals, we weren't stupid asses and evaded the police both away from the scene to city lines and then back. If we'd been stopped by another jurisdiction they'd have run a felony stop on us. Kind of glad we showed some intelligence in our chosen route of escape.

Dear people who selected "No, I don't really do illegal shit that would warrant me getting arrested",
Really? How boring that must be. I'm not saying go out and kill someone or rob a bank, but live a little. I'm not saying you should go get arrested either, but take some risks now and again.

I think this is an interesting concept that we should discuss further. Is excitement linked exclusively to risk? When I think of something that was really exciting, I think of winning something. A sporting match, a game, even more abstract things like solving a problem or riddle, or heck, even an illness or injury. Triumph is exciting, is my point, without being related in any way to risk. Right?
Also, risk can be exciting, but I'm not sure how legality plays into it. There are plenty of ways to be risky without risking arrest. There are plenty of ways to be frisky without (a) frisking arrest. Right?

Well, triumph does involve risk- risk of failure, risk of permanent injury, risk of looking like someone who sucks at monopoly, whatever. If I win at monopoly (which I always do) the risks and the rewards are both hollow. If I win at russian roulette, played over a fat stack of cash, the risk is great and so are the rewards.
I normally settle for a poker game, and always speeding when I drive. WOOO ADVENTURE!

Well, there *is* that perk of being able to check "no, I have never been arrested".
My closest brushes with the law predominantly involved speeding as a young adult.
One time, I was driving two buddies home from a day of snow-skiing, and I was probably going 15-20 over the limit, and it was probably around 8pm (not that late at night, but still pretty dark).
So I see the red and blue lights behind me in the distance, so I give my friends the heads-up (they sat up straight and did the "oh shit"). Looking ahead, as I prepared to pull-over, I see a semi-truck up ahead on the right ... so I keep going, passed it, slid over one lane in front of it, and slowed to the truck's speed.
Cop car goes flying by on my left, and a couple of minutes later, we see it going across the median to go in the other direction. "Oh man, he's pissed and looking for you". I drove cautiously the rest of the way home.
.
Another episode, which was predominantly a non-issue, was leaving a friend's house at 3am after a SC/D2 LAN-party ... and basically being followed by a cop car 3/4th of the trip. Friend only lived like 5 minutes away, but that drive felt quite longer at the time (probably because I was only going 20 and trying to drive as straight as possible, vs possibly appearing to be a drunkard trying to get home). Cop followed me onto my street, slowed as I pulled into my driveway, and then moved on as I pulled into garage.
.
In the meantime, never having done drugs, not even pot ... might label me as 'boring' but I considered it being prudent versus possibly getting involved in a situation driven by Murphy's law.

I'm just trying to figure out what laws specifically he thinks you need to break.
I do some stuff that isn't legal, but it's not enough to get me arrested. Like sometimes if a set of lights isn't on a timer and there's a no right turn on red and I'm the only car just chilling there for a bit, I'll still make the right turn. Or I like to smoke once in a while, but marijuana has been decriminalized in my state so at most I'll get a ticket.
Was arrested once in college. Came back to my dorm incredibly drunk and my RA called the police after I shared my thoughts on the dorm curfew. So after drinking probably over 15 drinks and having slept all of about 30 minutes I was woken up by the town police, from my bed. I have no idea what actually happened but I was charged with underaged drinking and resisting arrest. The next morning both charges were dropped and i was released to the custody of my university police who made me write a paper about the dangers of drinking. I dont think anyone read it because it was a 4 page manifesto on how much of a bitch my RA is.

I've lost count of how many times I've been compared to Cool Hand Luke as a result of my wild lifestyle that led to my two arrests, long ago. I won't go into great detail, but just know that one time my BAC was at least 0.07% whilst sitting in a bar with a black X on one hand, and a vodka something in the other. The next time, I was of age, and had at least one beer in me. I took a piss in an alley off of River Street in Savannah on the day before St. Patrick's Day. Now that, my friends, is risk taking. Despite the sting operation in place to foil my plans, the thrill was totally worth it.
Fortunately I was scared straight and turned my life around before things got really out of hand. Now I just get a speeding ticket every 2 years or so.

I normally settle for a poker game, and always speeding when I drive. WOOO ADVENTURE!I think I'm looking at it more from a feelings standpoint. It doesn't feel risky to play a game of softball, but it is nevertheless possible (albeit not plausible) that I can win a game of softball. I think that's what Durfin was getting at, the feeling of risk compared to the feeling of boredom. Yes, you could say I am technically at risk to ground out, but this does not really get the blood going.
