I don't know if I understand what you're asking.

If you're asking if using the fixstat potion will have the game recalculate how many training points you have from 0 to X based on the new stat growth rates, then yes it does.

Using the fixstat will recalculate your TP's. Yes, depending on how you reallocate your stats you could potentially gain TP's in the process.

I get what you're saying but perfect stats actually don't mean maximized TPs. Most characters when they go for perfect stats actually lose a few hundred TPs because of the way most characters are lopsided to physical or mental points and convert. Their stat placement tends to skew toward the focused side and so when you maximize the stats, the skew is shifted in the other direction(the one that grows more slowly and the type of point you want less of).

I had my stats set for 50 when I came back thinking I would never make it that far.

I used a fix stat at 87 to set stats for cap. I lost the equivalent of about 500 MTP.
