And the Gemstone equivalent:
You put on a billowing ebony spidersilk robe with three bands of black velvet on each sleeve.
Orange? With white stripes? I hate to say it but it looks like a traffic cone.
Scarlet?! It's safety orange!

So when did you first realize you were color blind DCSL?

Definitely orange in the first pic, though the stripes look more grey.
Also, congrats dude.

It's a knee length safety vest in the first picture; the kind flaggers wear. The gray is reflective tape.
And grats on completing that thar higher learnin' BF!
Vindicated. IN YOUR FACE, HORSE BOOB CANCER.
Also, congratulations on the milestone, man!

I don't know...you did think the stripes were white after all. We'll just call you slightly colorblind. Is that cool?

Congrats!
Did they sing "Louie, Louie" at your ceremony? Only way I coulda been convinced to go.
I graduated again yesterday, too. Originally I wanted to walk so I could wear the Master's hood, but it passed. I just couldn't handle the idea of a three+ hour ceremony.

And yeah, I'm not a fan of the ceremonies either.

The ceremony isn't for the graduates. It's for the families who loved you and supported you through years of expensive schooling. They deserve a show with a little pomp and circumstance. Don't blow off the ceremony.

Hah, my wife wants me to bring our son to her graduation on the 9th. Yeah, I can totally get a three year old to be cool and wait for mommy while watching three hours of synchronized walking.

As long as it's performed with graduate in full regalia, on campus, parent(s) beaming ear-to-ear on either side of the graduate, and in front of a photographer. Oh hell, might as well just go to the fucking ceremony.

Seriously. I didn't want to walk but I knew if I didn't, my grandma would be heartbroken. Thankfully mine was only ~2hrs.

Aww shit. Our lives collide again. When I meet your wife, I'm going to tell her that I've seen her in nude lesbian photos on an internet forum.

She knows. You might be a pal and not mention it in front of her parents, though. Actually, they probably assume. I will blow an airhorn and flash bright lights in your eyes when you walk across the stage or whatever so you know where I am in the crowd... just to make it easy to find me. =]
Edit: Seriously though, I have been thinking. Maybe it is time for us to take the next step in our relationship and go from being anonymous internet friends to facebook internet friends. Otherwise our lives will just keep accidentally overlapping until one day my wife is teaching your bastard children and you walk into a PTA meeting, stop dead in your tracks and go "I've seen your boobs."
If we are facebook friends, we can make it seem intentional. Plus I can monitor your movements more easily to avoid human interaction.

I'm not walking. I don't really give a shit about ceremonies and rites of passage. Plus, I'll be here another year and a half doing a masters and writing a book. Suppose I'll walk for that to make the parents happy. Let me know if they read my name.

Alright, I will try and pay attention, I guess.
I feel the same about ceremonies.

Next, we conquer the world. With that under our belts, we then take on the seemingly more difficult task of taking over Simutronics and paying developers an actual wage.
Great pictures. And you don't look like a traffic cone at all!
Thanks! And thank God for that.

I'm posting this because I enlisted several people to make similar requests and we have been shot down. I just wanted everyone to share in the "Are you kidding me? You can't do a simple alter?" buzz running through my head.

Wouldn't it be cool if some awesome GM were to make him a set of robes for one of his characters that looked like these?
~Durfin of Kharam Dzu
~Ifor Get of Shatterd
~Stalker of forums until Monks are released
RESPONSE FROM GM:
No, because they're from Ohio State. Maybe if they were Michigan... (Sports fans will get that one)
It might be doable in Shattered, maybe, but prime/Plat would be right out. I appreciate the idea, but...
MY RESPONSE:
Why wouldn't this be acceptable in Prime/Plat:
some scarlet robes with three grey stripes embroidered on each sleeve (either robe armor or. preferably, an unlocked armor concealer)
a grey sash embroidered with blue runes (scarf)
a floppy black hat adorned with a single braided grey silk tassel (hat)
I don't think that would violate any existing alteration rules or be OOC.
~Durfin (not a sports fan)
RESPONSE FROM GM:
Well that might be doable! Maybe not the concealer because those may have scripted things in how they operate that changing the look would mess up, but the rest looks relatively okay.
Unfortunately, I'm not an awesome GM, so it's not something I can do. It's likely doable via premium alteration or if an alterer shows up, but it's outside what I get to do. :(
First I got the NO hammer, then when I pointed out how to do the alters in an IC way I got the ::shrug:: I can't do it answer. How hard would it be to forward this to another GM?
Seriously, how many Ph. D.'s do we have in Gemstonerland that this is a blasé event?
Annoyed...and I don't even play anymore. Things like this are not luring me back either.

A little late to be jumping on the bandwagon, but congratulations man. That is a great accomplishment. You are now qualified to do QC on an out-dated text-based smorpg.
Seriously though, hat's off to you sir.
