Sorry about that. I knew I was missing something.

I'm pretty sure it covers only the head. I can confirm that when GS is back up. Here is what the bard saw:

The harmonics generated tell you that the helm serves to reduce the severity of inflicted wounds. The magical harmonics reveal that the head is better protected when wearing the vaalorn helm.

This helm protects the head only.

Any help on what it might be worth?

One of my characters is wearing it until I can upgrade the rest of his armor.
