Possible returning player, shattered noob.

Hey everyone,

Used to play normal GS4 off and on. I guess the last time I logged in must have been 2 or 3 years ago so alot has changed.

Shattered sounds really really fun, but it is so hard to abandon my normal characters. I spent so much time building them up, and have a significant collection of toys/items/coins.

How is it? Do you guys love it, tell me some cool shattered stories so I can get excited about this. :) Is there alot of greifing? Raids on towns by other players? Etc.

There's not really any griefing going on, although there is a little semi-friendly PvP on occasion. Occasionally not so friendly, but nobody is really trying to burn anyone thru deeds or anything crazy.

The last two new players to Shattered I gave 10 mil in starter silvers to, and I'll gladly give you the same. I think I've given away most of my 4x fulls and doubles to the newbs as well, but I may be able to dig some more up somewhere.

The last GM visit to Shattered was rather epic. He took my 7x fulls and 7x doubles to 10x.

Not much in the way of epic stories to tell, I'm mostly out in the real world getting the bills paid while my characters script hunt, rezz, recover, etc. 24/7. Which is AWESOME by the way. I'd be in prime just for the increased playerbase, if I could afk script like I do in Shattered. Sometimes I actually have to go out into the real world <gasp> for hours or days at a time, and it's nice to just walk away from the gemstone computer and know that my two characters are just rolling along script-raping Nelemar.

Thanks for the info. I always thought in normal GS how cool it would be if some "crazed sorcerer" strolled into town one day and went postal killing everyone. People still did that, but you could actually roleplay this stuff too and have "player invasions" without fear of getting disciplined by the mods. Bands of outlaws, clans, battles etc.

What about population? It must be way less than normal GS? That and losing my progress from normal GS are the 2 biggest factors against it for me.

One more thing, I cant find the monthly price! What does it cost?

Cost is like $5 more than prime, which is weird. You'd think it would cost less, but meh... I'm willing to pay $5 more to play gemstone the way I want without the stupid soap in the mouth gig for cussing, and time out for scripting, and all that BS.

You don't really lose your progress from prime, I mean... the progress is all still there and you can return to Prime at any time you like. Daily even. You just can't be in Shattered and Prime at the same time on the same account.

You do start a whole new character, you do not bring nothing over. This is a separate instance from prime. What Beelzebub was sayin is you can start a new shattered character, and you will not lose any progress you made in prime. So for example(some people do/ have done this), you can afk script in Shattered and play at the keyboard once in a while, and if you have an urge to go back and play your prime chars, go for it. You just cant be signed into shattered and prime at the same time on the same account.

You do have to start over, you cannot bring characters/items over from Prime. The thing is, leveling is no longer a mind-numbing grind. With the off the shelf scripts that are available you can easily script up to 30th level inside the first 30 days of play and you can pretty near cap in a year depending on what profession you go with.

Yeah sorry for the confusion. I just meant you don't lose any of your prime stuff, it's all still there in Prime if you wanna go back at any time.

most of the fun is building up chars yourself, but a few people have extra chars they will sell if you want to mess around with a capped char, i for one have a 23m exp empath i'd part with if you would rather buy in, oh and chars are a lot cheaper here if you do go that route, but either way sign up and try it out, its 5 bucks more and you still have the prime side to play whenever you want, worst case scenario you script afk while you sleep/work, play prime while you are at keyboard
