In the characters current condition (no stats,skills,artisan skills,bounty points, item listings with stats that were validated) I start the bid for 2 mystery capped characters at $200 which includes all their current items as an account takeover so as long as the account isn't re-intstated by anyone other than me :)

Rogue is not Tsin further these characters have not been logged on in almost two years. Would give the buyer a good layer of anonymity. But if the general consensus is to post the gear, coins, and stats I will do that.

Admittedly I haven't been on lnet in a while but are people bitching about bought/sold characters? I haven't seen people bitch about that in years. Other than the occasional "that character has been sold" type of thing, more as a warning to let others know there is someone else behind the character, not in a "OMG! Bought character alert! Avoid at all costs!"

No one cares what it looks like if it's that good. Post the weapon/armor stats and people will bid. Alter scrolls come cheap, so if it's the look that's going to turn someone off, they can change it themselves for a matter of around $20. Stats are what people care most about in high end gear, not looks.

What you did was ask for money without showing exactly what it is you were selling. There are plenty of reputable who can assess your items in game and validate your claim. Asking people to turn over money, even to a secured escrow, without knowing what they're buying is just ludicrous and you should have fully expected to get ridiculed.

That doesn't negate the fact that the site charges the buyer, so the buyer would have to take your word for it that you would reimburse the fee. Maybe you're totally legit and really were just trying to protect the identity of your characters (for whatever reason) but you were asking people to do things totally different than what's usually done around here. Sellers usually inform people of the stats and whatever comes with the character first, sellers usually give details about equipment before hand, including descriptions and abilities and whatnot. People don't usually get an escrow account involved, granted it might make things safer (then again like I said who knows since that site doesn't talk about virtual goods) but I've noticed doing anything against the norm around here spooks people.
