So starting a fresh new wizard and was wondering if anyone had any tips for early trains. I will be going pure, I know THW claid bashing for 29 days is "better", But I find the pure caster a better RP style for me.(I just like to zap the shit outta critters). My skills so far are:
(at level 2), your current skill bonuses and ranks (including all modifiers) are:

My plan is to get 903 and 503 next train then focus 400's + 500's. Whats a good time to get back into 900's? After 406, or keep going with the 400's and switch at 509? My stats right now are horrible, I totally screwed them up. What would be a good starting set for a pure to just rape everything for 25 days or so I have left.

You are likely to find these points spent better at a low level. I put training out of robes/light leather until post-20 (and a couple of my wizards waited until postcap).

These are completely wasted points at this train.

The rest look okay, though I generally try to make every character 1x in perception.


Whats a good time to get back into 900's?
903 can get you through level 16, at least, on the volcano, but it's worth getting 905 for the DS. If you plan on hunting outside the volcano/north beach, I'd push for 906 as well. Too many things burn well.

My current low levelers are trying:
1x Major until cap
1x Wizard to 905, then ignoring it until level caught up on MnE
401, then skimp on the 400's until level 5. After that, throw all their extra points into MnE to get catch up to 1x. (Works out to be about level 10 with their TPs)

High AGI/DEX + STR and a claidhmore. You're not going to rape anything but the pawnshop tables for wands going pure out the gate. (Not that I recommend against it, but the idea you'll be anything other than a squishy bloodsack to most creatures is aburd.)

Some suggestions that may get you some mileage:

Life will be a lot easier if you have a second account and start a second newbie that swings a weapon.

20 ranks of air lore will get you a 5 mana knockdown with Hand of Tonis.

Train 1x MjE every level. Get 513 as soon as you can. Get 516 as soon as it's available and have enough EMC ranks by then to use it.

Have 425 by 25.

As a pure you're going to be damn near able to 3x spells anyways. You won't have to make my hard decisions about what circle to put points into.

If your stats are horrible, change them or reroll. Level 2 isn't something to hold on to.
