I was talking to this guy, and he told me Celtic got fired from his GM job?
Anyone know whether or not that's true?

Yes, he was fired a good few months ago. Haven't you noticed the lack of Chavie at any pay events?

Or you could read some of his posts where he talks about it by searching for his username .. Celtic.

Who in their right mind would want to earn a salary from Simu anyway?

Stuff like what? The things they have planned in development and are actually working on?

I think Celtic said he would be updating his web page at some point in time, and to watch for news there.

The exact redux formula.

For that matter, every exact formula related to physical combat (don't care much about spells).

I'd also like to see the process of idea to ingame itself, because there seems to be tremendous blockages between the two that I'd like to identify (and perhaps laugh at).

So I took your advice and searched for Celtic and was reading through one of his posts, and found where he said this, "2ndly, who I am is someone that cares about the integrity of the game and one that doesn't run out and sell every shoelace I have found or collected over the years. "

And correct me if I'm wrong, but he got fired for cheating to ensure that Starsnuffer would win padding? He obviously cares greatly for the integrity of the game.

Heh. I think the big one is QC and amount of work.

Where did you get that, Mistomeer? I had not heard that Celtic was fired for "cheating".

The guy that told me he got fired said that's what it was for. He was right about the result, so I have a hard time believing that he would be wrong about the cause. But stranger things have happened.

Well, we are not even totally sure Celtic was fired. He could have decided to leave, or it could have been a mutual decision. People love to talk, and are wont to make up reasons why things happen. Whoever told your friend that might not know what they're talking about, ya know?

Personally, I don't listen much to this kind of thing. It's too easy to point the finger and make false accusations. In all honesty, unless your friend is David Whatley, Elonka, Melissa, or a senior GameMaster, I don't know that I'd put much faith in any of it.

As it stands, it's just a rumor and rumors serve no purpose other than as fodder for message boards. I've been told any number of things over the years, only to find out later there was no truth to most of it. :)

Especially considering the prize was shit. The merchant added light damage padding (1-2 damage) to some unpadded armor. Starsnuffer and others on the GS boards complained that they'd rather have had a prize of two alters (which someone else chose who won the game of craps the night before). All lightly damage padded armor does is make your gear unenchantable.

I'd be quite surprised if giving away prizes to friends as a GM isn't a fireable offense. Again, I never said he was fired. I asked and several people said yes. Even after that, I said that it's possible that he wasn't fired.

The reason I made this thread, is because that's what I heard and I was wondering if anyone had heard the same thing.

The way I "heard it", and from someone I trust, mind you is that he changed the rules of the game mid-game to allow Starsnuffer to win, adding 2 more winners makeing it a 4 winner game. I was there that night so I know this part to be true, as to if he did it just so starsnuffer could win I dont know and cant because im not Celtic. So then Starsnuffer goes on the boards and complains, gets Celtic "caught" and he gets fired. Now... Starsnuffer hasnt been in game lately much either, Ive seen him log in then right back out so that kinda tells me either he's busy in life, or maybe embarassed because he got his friend fired. Speculation, yes but thats how it looks to me.

If he was fired for giving favors to friends? Good, I hope they fire everyone when and if they're caught.

Celtic was fired months ago. Starsnuffer has been on alot since the firing. Somehow, though, I expected it had something to do with that RP-crazed midget.

I find it very hard to believe that anyone would risk their job for LIGHT damage padding. It's next to worthless. Unless your good friend is on staff, I'd be skeptical of anything they say regarding GM actions/staffing changes.

Well.. Of course I wont comment on that. Just doing my part to support the rumor mill!

Anyway, nowhere in my post did I state thats exactly what happened, just what *I* heard.

Unfortunately.. unless you were in the circle when it happened, you will probably not know the real truth.
