My husband used to lie (lay?) down with the baby and HE'D fall asleep before the baby would. The same thing might have happened with me occasionally too.

Fuck this poll. Does a kangaroo have a mother, too? That's the important question here. And "The Travels of Babar"? He's a fucking elephant. Where can he go? It's not like he can just buy a plane ticket. Pretty much if there's anything with more than a 4 ft wall around it, he can't get to it. Better titles would be "Babar makes a loud trumpet noise" and "Babar pulls water in with his snout and sprays himself clean" and "Babar eats a peanut and then doesn't jump ever, not even once in his whole life" and "Babar takes a monstrous sized dump close to the place he eats and sleeps and doesn't give a fuck".

I think based off the poll at this point it looks like single fathers say 'daddy' and married fathers say 'mommy.' Childless people (+tricksket) say 'benadryl.' And no one wants to admit that old people are good at anything.

It's not necessarily unsafe, there's a pretty enormous safety margin with benadryl. Some children don't get sleepy from benadryl though, they get hyperactive.

Also, if you're worried about the noise, a few minutes in the microwave works to dry infants too. Just make sure you put it at about 70% power or else sometimes they'll cry.
