Very well done. It is one of the few movies that exceeds its predecessor. Character development gets at least twice as much time as action, the plot is well thought out and in line with the orginal series, and Peter Parker is portrayed as both human and super human.
Very well done. I'd highly recommend it.
Discuess.

Tragical movie or not?
Tragical: Lot of deaths, either important or non-important people.

Not so much. There really isn't a lot of death, or at least not important or graphic certain death.

I went to a midnight showing last night. I'm nothing but satisfied.
The action was just sick, CGI or not. The acting was above-par, and the story was excellent. The JJ Jamison character was a touch annoying, but other than that, no complaints.
3rd movie gets set up as well. :-D
I can't wait to see it. If its better than the first then Its worth the money.

I went last night at Midnight to see it... great movie.
They also introduced 3 new potential enemies.. which I liked. Hopefully, all 3 happen in Spiderman 3.

Since I followed the best version of the Spiderman cartoon for years, and read the comics.. I can't wait for the next one to come out.
It would be totally cool if the did Venom.. but they totally aren't :(

Well, they aren't doing it in the third, and I don't think they are going past the third.

Kirsten Dunst is UGLY?
Man, X, I just lost all the respect I didn't have for you. I would do her at the drop of a hat, and keep on doing her for about a month solid.

Where did you hear this? I heard the exact opposite. They have followed the comics pretty closely, and the next villain would be Venom.

The next villian is the goblin again. The Harry Osbourne goblin (can't remember what the name was exactly... Green goblin, and [other] Goblin.) They had the villians all set up from the very beginning.
EDIT: However, I am pretty sure the second goblin and Venom were around same time at one point in the comics, so it's possible both end up in the movie... However, I doubt it.

You have a reliable source? I've seen a quote on at least two websites credited to Marvel stating that Venom is slated as the third villain.

I would prefer watching a full months of political debats to that.
She's not only ugly, she's terribly not having any sex appeal. At least, on camera.
p.s. Organic webbing of Spiderman sux, how can he beats most of the villains without altering the webs now?

I haven't heard anything about #3... but from #2 they could easily have Spiderman go up against the Lizard and Hobgoblin and introduce Venom at the very end.. to pave the way for #4.
Spiderman 2 set this up all nicely.. now they just have to follow through.

Yeah Hobgoblin is definitely next. The end of this one Harry was all OH LOOK IT'S THE GREEN GOBLIN STUFF and then all THE END.
If they DON'T do hobgoblin then they're retarded. But Toby McGuire will be 30 or older by the time the next one comes out. They might have to change Spidermans soon.

If they're going to do a movie with Venom in it, they have to do it right. We need a movie about the Secret Wars. With all the recent comic movies, they could pull something off. It would take a shit load of money though with all those actors.

You're right , they'd never be able to make it into a good movie with only 2 hours of run time. Wishful thinking though.

On paper, there are 6 spiderman movies slated.. However, everyone is only signed for the first three. The current director recently said that the third Spiderman would by far be the best, and would wrap up the first two movies quite well.
So I guess that means theres tons of room for a Venom! (assuming the people re-sign)

Somehwere up there they were talking about Spiderman 3, which is already being filmed.
At the very begginging all the actors and crew signed a 6 year deal for a movie every 2 years, so one in 2002, now 2004, next 2006

Ask me, I love comic books. I don't think they would use the lizard as a villain for part 3, simply because having another scientist transformed and going nuts is repetitive.
From my recollection, the hobgoblin was made first in the comic books and the cartoons. Osborne hired the hobgoblin and gave him the suit and the technology to kill off his enemies. Hobgoblin eventually betrayed him.. and that is when Osborne Sr. turned into green goblin. Harry is not the original green however.
As for venom, I don't know how they're going to explain the whole scenerio. The symbiont after all is alien.. so they'd have to explain that.. And the real venom was spiderman, and turned into a villain himself.. Hence replicating that spiderman costume and when he rejected it.. it transffered to peter parker's rival brock. I think it's too complicated for a movie and the whole story line needs to be condensed.. unless they're going to change it x-men movie like.

Tobey Maguire throwing agitated cats into baby carriages while under the influence of aliens would make my movie-going experience.

Finally saw it today- it was pretty good. Chadj, I now think we are both wrong. Technically, the movie laid the groundwork for the Lizard, Goblin, and Venom, but I think they are just going to opt for the latter two in the third installment. That's my bet, Venom and Goblin.

TOO MANY people saw spider man's real face...
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH.
And the scene of the kiss bringing the guy to the moon was terribly pathetic, man, those people are what, 20+?
Was a damn good movie still.

- and to be off topic
- am I the only one that really wants to see Alien vs Predator- I been waiting since like 92-93 or was it 93-94 or so for this movie to come out- when it "supposely" was to be made
so yeah...aug 18th? 13th? think thats when the movie comes out

I saw Spiderman 2 a few days ago, well worth seeing on the big screen.
I get the goblin set up, and maybe it's because my kid woke me up at 6:30 am on a Saturday.. but someone U2U me and tell me how they set up the others.
Also, Kirsten Dunst may not be typical sex kitten, but I think she's adorable. And she's a good actress (although has too many "lines" of screaming).. She was also in Jumanji, and more notably, Interview With a Vampire.

I watched a bootleg this afternoon. It was worth the 7 bucks I spent for the DVD. I enjoyed when the people pulled spidey in the train maskless.
as for venom it is real easy to explain.
Next time Jameson's boy goes into outer space he brings the alien back. Instead of Brock being the rival it is Jameson's boy.

Actually Harry doesn't turn into the Hobgoblin, he becomes the second Green Goblin. The Hobgoblin is some other dude. I forget what his name was.
As for Venom, the only real good way to bring him in is to do it the way the cartoon did it. It would be too hard to do a Secret Wars story line so, Jamesons son brings the alien suit back from space. Spiderman wears it for awhile. It gets all wierdlike and he gets rid of it. Then either Eddie Brock would find it, or else they may change it to Jamesons son. Either way there is no way Venom would be the main baddy in the next movie, unless they want it to suck. I don't think Raimi would change the origin of Venom that much.
My vote is that the next bad guy would be Harry as the second Green Goblin and/or Dr. Conners as the Lizard. I'm hoping they go with Dr. Conners because we already saw the Green Goblin. Also, they really need to change that outfit. Green Goblin looked dorky, Doc Ock looked f'n cool.
I hope that they don't go all Batman and have too many bad guys. I still have nightmares about the last Batman flick. I like Uma, but man Poison Ivy....bleh. Ahnuld as Mr. Freeze....next! Worst Bane ever.... and what was with Batgirl being Alfred's niece or whatever? Will Warner Brothers please stop trying to change the DC universe!
