If you're wearing armor such as augmented chain and you add something like arm greaves, does it change you asg? Or does it just become an accessory?

Adding an accessory to an area already covered by your armor does nothing.

Adding an accessory to an area not covered by your armor bumps it up to the level of armor required to cover that area (IE: leather breastplate + helm = brigandine).

Augmented chain already "covers" the arms, so arm greaves would have no effect on AsG. If you wore a helm or aventail, it would bump you up to hauberk.

Yeah I was just wondering for enchancive item purposes

Thanks for the answers!

It does nothing to your ASG, but it can fuck with the padding/resistance/spikes/etc on the torso armor if the accessory has its own properties (not including enhancives).

Not quite what Shaft asked, but something he might need to consider if he adds some enhancive greaves with other properties.

So if you're wearing some padded brig and you get a set of enhancive greaves, you don't want the greaves to have any padding?

Depends.

If padded armor is combined with specially enhanced armor accessories (or vice versa), then the previously announced system of averaging bonuses will continue to be used. Specially enhanced armor includes: differing types of padding (i.e. combining damage and critical padding on a hit location), armor that is resistant to specific damage types, blessed armor, TD enhancing armor, flaring armor, and spiked armor.

Note:Enhanced, in this sense, doesn't mean enhancive.

Oh cool, I'll give that a read. Was hoping this was a simple question and a simple answer.
