Reivers... Im doing it wrong!

These guys at level 25 are tough with their armor. How should i be fighting them as a ranger? Aim head all day long?

If you're not critting them anyway, aim for the legs and keep them standing up every round. Once you have one leg at rank 2, aim for the other one.

What's your build like? I'm not a ranger but I'd think that's useful information for folks trying to advise you

depends on the reiver. I'm an archer ranger and have been hunting reivers @ level 23,24 and now 25. Some wear half plate and the veteran's wear full plate so it's just a matter of just keep shooting arrows till they die. I took a capped sorc there to pump me with 117(spirit strike) and 118(web) and my ranger using 608(camo) and I still can't get a head crit on them. As stated earlier on those I tend to just aim for the legs and keep firing. The rest of the reivers (double chain, hauberk) crit fairly easy just aiming at the heads.

Is there a reason you want to hunt reivers over other critters?

I think at that level, I was whacking cyclopses, but that was before I was an archer. Jungle trolls would be an option too.

Full plate is going to suck for your entire archer lifetime. Unless it's a hated enemy and you have heavy crit weighting through Sigil of Major Bane--if there's something better to hunt (and at that level, there are a ton of better things to hunt) go hunt something else.

Also the Arachne temple area is perfect for that level. The servants are squishy as hell and drop nice loot

Yeah, I loved the spider temple back in the day. The outside is nice and easy and the inside is fun for when you want a challenge.

if you can ward and priestess cast web every 2 seconds. Outside is ok where at least you can use camo. Major spiders are only level 20 though where as reivers are 25. The archane servants are super easy. Reivers also tend to carry diamonds and emeralds and boxes up to 12-13k silvers. I find Reivers far easier than the spider temple.

Move to Zul Logoth! You have two very nice options. Hunt the centaurs outside the cart on the way to Wehnimers landing (level 23) or the Grutiks (Wormlings 24, Savages 27, Shaman 29). Everything wears leather armor. Zul Logoth can be a bit desolate, but everything drops tons of cash, so you can afford to pay for your death's sting if you decay.
